My GF's 5503 was unable to receive last two OTA updates, then I said to check it out.. Was really surprised. This customization version is NOT documented?!? Phone is bought in HK. I flashed HK stock 4.2.2, update via OTA to .67 went smoothly. Anyways, any idea what this device might be? Pic attached.
Sent from my C5503 using Tapatalk 2

I forgot to add, it's the black one. HK region. NOT in the table below.
Google says... that "1271-3682" belongs to "Commercial and journalist" customization. What the hell is that? Guys, any clue?
In dealer tape *#*#7378423#*#* - Service info - Software info - Customization vesrion and compare with the subsequent table

look, this table and those numbers refer to the version flashed on your phone, it has nothing to do with the hardware...
my device is C5502 yet when i go to the service settings i get version code of C5503 because thats the fw i have flashed on my phone...
nothing to panic about.. also when i take out the battery and look at the back i see SI: 1273-5000 which is not in this table you brought either...

Using FTF, you can switch any version such as BE or RUS.

Can you use lte since you flashed your c5502 (hspa) with c5503 (lte)? Cause if you cant, sony probably use different baseband processor for both model then.

I don't know where you got your device from, but the cust number 1271-3682 is basically destined to medias and commercials for demonstrations purpose, and actually there is no update available for it.

Hi all! I'm new here.
I have an XZR with a customization number of 1273-1456 and I haven't received any updates yet (I'm still on 10.1.1.A.1.310). Can somebody tell me if there is already an update for this build?
Also, is it okay to just manually update my XZR to the 10.3.1.A.2.67?
Thanks in advance.

no update yet for Philipine (1273-1456). you may change the baseband in order to benefit of newest updates, or flash an entire firmware.

Thanks Ilko. I've already flashed the stock firmware you uploaded here and it works!

Yes it's Medias & Commercials 1271-3682 10.1.1.A.1.310 R2A from your topic here. I got it for my GF at the regular phone shop in HK, the same one where I bought mine.
As I said, after flashing it OTA updates works but the customization number remains. Anyways, what is Medias & Commercials? Why it version is lower than others? Is it a underdeveloped model somehow, any pros/cons about it etc?
It works well indeed, I'm just slightly curios & confused should I rant on my phone dealer or praise him

well, basically medias and commercials get devices some days earlier before they are sold. Marketing, teasing.... call it as you want. These devices are exposed in markets and are used for demonstration purpose. Other people make hands on videos. It's just that knowing a device is of course helpful for arguing.
Then, I don't know why they're "abandoned" by Sony, I believe these firmwares won't benefit of any update, so in my opinion it's better to ignore them.

Change/Add OS language Setting

Hi guys,
probably well known by our long-time Android users but it was news for me so seeing there are a lot of new people coming to Android with the Wildfire I decided to post my findings here.
Even if a particular language is not included for your phone there is a way to add/activate it on your android powered smartphone (as long as it uses unicode).
!!WARNING!! This will NOT change the language for all applications (only stock android apps). HTC specific apps for example will stay in the language of your stock ROM.
It also does NOT add text prediction input when using the keyboard. This is apparently included in the keyboard software (IME).
To add/activate a language not included by default in your settings
- Download the application
LocaleSwitch: http://www.appbrain.com/app/com.aokabi.android.localeswitch
MoreLocale: http://www.appbrain.com/app/jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale
- Activate another language in the list
OR
- Create a new locale code using the lists below
First two letters define the language, the second two the country.
Language (ISO 639 codes)
Technical contents of ISO 639:1988 (E/F)

More explanation here:

I managed to add croatian language on my phone by creating the locale hr_HR for example.
This info might be useful if you would flash your phone in the future with a ROM of a different language than the one you are using now.
Cheers,
Sylvain
I tried it.
Hi,
Unfortunately, at least with Hebrew lang,it doesn't work.
In order to set RTL lang,at first need to root wildfire, then to push the Hebrew fonts to system/fonts.
thanks.

And i wont to know how to unlock full language list that ROM contain (without MoreLocale or similar)
I have Sensation, S-off, Bootloader unlocked, SuperCID-ed.

[Q] kernel .config for S3-I9305 LTE.. 3.0.31-7xxx

Hi,
I have build a custom kernel image with default config m3_00_defconfig from samsung.
but the kernel modules after successful compilation are different from the stock,
Below are the differences after extracting initramfs from the stock boot image and with kernel modules built with default config.
Modules after successful kernel compiled with m3_00_defconfig
Code:
./drivers/net/wireless/bcmdhd/dhd.ko
./drivers/net/wireless/btlock/btlock.ko
./drivers/scsi/scsi_wait_scan.ko
./arch/arm/mvp/pvtcpkm/pvtcpkm.ko
./arch/arm/mvp/mvpkm/mvpkm.ko
./arch/arm/mvp/commkm/commkm.ko
Modules from stock kernel XXBLL5
Code:
lib
│** └── modules
│** ├── btlock.ko
│** ├── dhd.ko
│** ├── [COLOR="Red"]exfat_core.ko[/COLOR]
│** ├── [COLOR="Red"]exfat_fs.ko[/COLOR]
│** └── scsi_wait_scan.ko
Modules marked as RED are missing.
Is it because of different config used?
If yes, could some one please share the .config file.
I have no clue if i'm missing some steps to compile. please suggest me.
Thanks in advance
Fixed, got it working thanks to ErGo_404

F.A.Q.
Can I install a firmware from a country which is not mine?
Yes you can, because all the unbranded firmwares are the same stuff except for some apps that can be uninstalled without any problem.
What's my current customization number?
Open the phone dial pad and press *#*#7378423#*#*, then tap on Service info > Software info
Can I install a firmware for another phone model which is not mine?
Never do that, especially if you're a noob: you could mess up your device seriously.
My current firmware is already rooted, would I need to root again after flashing?
Yes you would, as everytime you flash you erase the system partition entirely.
Flashtool asks me to "Please move C:\Flashtool\firmwares content to C:\Users\yourusername\.flashTool\firmwares". What should I do?
Close Flashtool and then go into C:\Flashtool directory, cut the "firmwares" folder and paste it inside C:\Users\yourusername\.flashTool directory.
Do not just copy, because it's not enough and it will keep on asking to move.
So, you have to cut and paste OR ELSE copy, paste and delete the old folder.
I need/want a firmware which is not already present inside the list, how to make my own FTF by myself?
You need Flashtool and XperiFirm.
Here's a very good TUTORIAL.
Once you finish, please be so kind to share your FTF with the rest of the world
HOW TO FLASH - INSTRUCTIONS FOR BEGINNERS
Download and install Flashtool on your PC
If you have problems with drivers, you should go into the Flashtool\drivers folder to install them
If you are a Windows 8.1 64bit user, you may need a patch from here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=41804, then reboot and restart the Flashtool
Download the firmware you need (from the list below) and move it into the C:/Flashtool/firmwares directory
Open Flashtool
If Flashtool asks you to "Please move C:\Flashtool\firmwares content to C:\Users\yourusername\.flashTool\firmwares", then close Flashtool and go into C:\Flashtool directory, cut the "firmwares" folder and paste it inside C:\Users\yourusername\.flashTool directory.
Do not just copy, because it's not enough and it will keep on asking to move.
So, you have to cut and paste OR ELSE copy, paste and delete the old folder.
Now click on the lightning symbol ("flash device"), select "Flashmode" and click on "OK"
Just select the name of what you downloaded and click on "Flash"
Wait for a window to pop up (it may take a few minutes, be patient)
Now everything is ready: turn off your phone
Push the volume-down button, keep pushing and connect to your PC
Once the flashing process has started, release the volume rocker as soon as possible
NEVER disconnect the USB cable until it's finished!!!
Turn on and enjoy!

Done! :good:
Installed the generic one and it's working fine. But it changed the customization number. If i need to send it to warranty they could give me some kind of trouble because of that? Sorry if this question is really stupid but i'm a real newbie to the android world.
Plz post a link to LT29i FTF file for middle east

Could you give me the customization number?
Has anybody received LT30a yet?
Could someone please post a link to LT30a FTF file , unbranded or not, of 4.3?... The best would be to start a .torrent file with it, but then again, maybe not... Thanx...

The language is not a problem, because in any firmware there are all the languages.
The country isn't so important... just some differences about the kind of apps that are preinstalled.
Instead the main difference is with the brand: there's always all the stuff about that brand and sometimes (and just sometimes) you might have some issues with configuration of apn and wifi.
The best thing is to choose an unbranded rom and if you can't, try a branded one

Bro did you flashed simlock.ta file also during the global rom flashing. Some posts in other xperia devices in xda states that we should not include simlock.ta file while flashing using newflasher. If you flashed that simlock.ta file also whether it locked you sim card.

Bro, I am a bit confused here. I am planning to buy SOG01 or SO-51A. Is it possible to use global rom here? any bugs or defects? I am from Philippines. I got Xperia XZ2 premium AU SOV 38 and I successfully put global rom with 4g+ signal. Using it for 2 years now. I want to have Xperia 1ii and do the same. Is it possible?
Someone manage to boot SEA firmware on xperia 5 ii with working mobile network by changing the modem sin and oem file of SEA to AU. Anyone tried this method on Xperia 1 ii? Any booting global firmware + AU modem and oem files
