I'm using galaxy ace gt s5830. i used rom manager to install CWM. then i tried to install a custom rom from my sd card. but it wasn't working and asked me to do it manually. I tried to reboot it and that's it. Now when i try to switch it on, nothing happens. not even a blink of a light !!! I've tried charging as well as connecting to my pc. that also is a failure. please....please.....please.......help me !!!!!! Any kind of an answer will be appreciated. thanks in advance.
I had the same thing on my Samsung gio.
It was completely dead.
Thy taked it back under warranty because my gio was only 2 weeks old.
They told me that the main frame was totally screwed.(dead)
So if you got warranty just tell the store that you updated the factory rom and that its not booted after it was finished.

PLEASE, DON'T USE IT NEVER!!!
If you still have the warranty in effect send your device for service

Try this -
Remove battery, sim card and memory card
Hold Home+Vol. Down + Power button and while holding those, ask someone to reinsert the battery.
This might force the device into download mode after which you can flash a ROM via Odin. If this doesn't work, it's a hard brick.
Your only hope is a USB jig or a motherboard change (hopefully, that'll be covered in your warranty).
All the best, mate. And remember, NEVER use ROM Manager.

Let me give you a tip if you bricked your phone.
I accidentally flashed Checkrom for galaxy s2 into my note.
The phone was bricked, i couldn't get to the recovery mode. Using the volume+power+home key combo only displayed a f*** up screen and then rebooted.
I noticed that if I did this with the phone plugged into the computer, my PCwould actually recognize something being plugged.
What I did:
I ran the already-rooted.bat that came with the rooting toolkit (zergrush)
And thank to god my phone booted (as a Samsung galaxy s2!), well it did not boot at first, it was stuck loading but i could go into recovery mode. After that my phone actually booted as an s2 (all messed up), but I could eventually wipe it clean.
So, if for any reason your phone gets bricked you might want to try this (cause removing battery doesn't do s**t)
I'm glad you solved it. But have to ask how the Fu** did you flash a. Sgs2 rom. Do you not read?

I did the same
I was selling my SGS2 the same day as I received my note. Was bussy rooting and unrooting and moving files from SGS2 to Note. On that time Chekrom for note and SGS2 was both v.4 "do i need to say more" some kernels swits internal and external SD in CWM. and i was using my sd to move files, I lost my IMEI in the proces, I had a struggle getting it back
In my defense, the checkrom rom was labeled XWLA4_CheckromRevo_HD_V6.zip for the s2 and XXLA4_CheckromRevo_NoteHD_V5.zip for the note. I was doing a bunch of stuff and its not like the file names are totally different.
I made a mistake, and I won't be the last to make it. Someone might benefit from my experience.
I have exactly same problem !please tell the toolkit method

I undesirably flashed recovery image on my Galaxy Mini with ROM Manager to probably unsupported CWM. No I can't boot my phone.
Odin and Kies can't detect my phone.
I can't access recovery or download mode.
Phone is rooted and installed Gingerbread 2.3 on it.
Is there way to unbrick it?
Yes, Samsung service center. Play dumb, and don't ever mention root, flashing or ROM manager

Take it to a repair shop and ask them to do a usb jig, to get your phone into download mode.

I installed Hyperion 8 custom rom on my s5570 using CWM, but than I noticed that it's actually for the s5570i. After the installation was done I selected reboot from CWM and now it doesn,t work at all. I tried turning on Download mode but it doesn't work. I tried fixing it with ODIN, wich was recognizing it, but now when I plug it into my computer it doesn't recognize it any more. Any ideas?
Try this simple 2 btn combo "hold power+home" which leads u to recovery mod, then u should flash the appropriate rom for s5570
Hit thanks button if this helped u

USB JIG/JTAG or Samsung Service Care.
I don't have the tools necessary. Plus that I live in Roumania and i don't think there are many things I can do.
Is there any way I can unbrick it without using a JIG?
Hello,
first i want to excuse me for my bad english, i hope you will understand my problem.
I have a rooted GT-S5830 with Froyo (2.2.1).
The plan was to install CWM and then a custom Rom.
I've downloaded CWM 5.0.2.6 for the Galaxy Ace, renamed the .zip to update.zip (it doesn't work while it was named CWM_XXXXXXX.zip), copied it to SD-Card and installed it via the original Recovery Mode.
The Installation went well, i rebooted the phone and everything was fine.
Now the problem: I can't go to the Recovery Mode.
Every Time I press Home and Power, my Phine stuck at the second SAMSUNG-Logo and, after a few minutes, it boot to the"normal" Mode.
I've tried to do an update via KIES, but my Notebook says that the Phone will not be seen in Download-Mode...
Odin didn't see the Phone (same Problem...Download Mode...)
So... Is there any Idea to restore the Recovery Mode or renew it or... whatever.
Thank you all
greetings
stanse
now everything is broken...
OK,
thank you for thinking about it, now the Phone doesn't boot any more.
It stucks at the first SAMSUNG Logo.
In a german forum i found a .exe which will bring the phone to recover mode, i've tested it and now evrything is broken...

Here is the link on how to install stock Gingerbread rom using odin along with all firmwares. Go to the "Preparations" section and download all the necessary files including drivers. When your notebook cannot detect the phone, its usually the drivers. To go to the download mode, hold Vol Down+ Home + Power button until you see "Downloading..." in the screen.
Flash stock rom on Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 using odin
Once installed, go to recoverymod and do a wipe data/ factory reset & wipe cache (otherwise bootloop might occur). Then restart. Now you have successfully flashed the stock rom. Here is the link for rooting and installing CWM 5 on Samsung Galaxy Ace,

Thank you for your post.
The biggest problem is that the phone will not be shown in download mode, so Odin says that there is no phone connected.
I have tried 3 different driver packages...
The link to Samsung says that the phone (GT-S5830) is too old for letting me download any driver.
I think that everything will work when the phone will be recognized by computer..
Thx

I've done exactly what you say nearly hundred times, with different driver packages, different computers, different cables, yesterday, today, at morning, afternoon and evening. I don't know what to do now...
I think that it is a driver fault, but no chance to fix it.
There are lots of problems wich are more important than this...
Thank you for your help, but i think that i need a new way to solve the problem.
Time will tell.

I don't know what you mean by connecting to Linux. But if you meant using odin in Linux, then well it will not work even with Wine. Wine doesn't work reliably with things that need hardware connections.
O Who can help me? Whom Because I have a very big problem, I've tried before yesterday my samsung galaxy ace in order to put on. A ROM miui using instructions from the site http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2408748 When, after the installation of the file bieltv.3 # 6 kernel booted my phone, he did nothing more. I also can not get download mode and the recovery is not. I hear it when I put it in the download mode, so to button with the home button and sound down all at once, a sound that Windows sees new hardware, but I can see the phone anywhere. I also tried after I heard this sound to start Odin and who sees it but can not open so I can upload. Nothing the USB port Now you know my big problem and I hope someone knows a solution for me.

Bro, you have installed a rom meant for another device and thus hard-bricked your phone. The rom was meant for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830i while your phone is Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830. As a last resort, follow this guide by @SuperMini to see if you can force open Download Mode through odin mode.
How to unbrick Samsung Galaxy Ace
Here is the link on how to install stock rom using odin. Go to "Preparations" section to download all the necessary files including drivers. If you PC doesn't detect the phone, it usually the problem with drivers. Make sure reinstall drivers if the problem exists.
