Hi This might sound like a noobish question and probably is But I had the Maximus 7 rom B4 and I got the full functionallity of LTE. Now I flashed the Viperom 2.7.0 and it's like I only get 1-2 bars of LTE if ever it is LTE it keeps switching to 3G and even Edge. I love this rom and don't want to let it go however If it costs me my connection and speed--> there's no point. Big shout-out to team Venom. I bought the unlock for venom tweaks cause I loved the rom and all the custumizations you can do. My question is may-be I'm doing something wrong or installing it wrong? I have s-off and am rooted. Would appreciate any input on this issue. TY in advance.Sorry I have The HTC One M7 AT&T
Emh, try another radio for AT&T.
Or check the apn..

Hi all,
I'm waiting patiently for my 64gb developer phone which I should be getting next week. In the meantime I've been combing through the forums trying to get as much information as I can regarding the developer's edition HTC One. When I think I got the answer I'm looking for I see something else that makes me think another way. With this thread I'm hoping to get answers in one place to avoid confusion. Someone please educate me on this phone.
1. Will I be able to get 4G LTE, and or HSPA+?
2. Unlocked bootloader means I can flash roms but not kernels? How will I know which roms/kernels are the correct ones to flash for the dev edition?
3. Has anyone achieved s-off yet and if so which method is the best and easiest?
4. Tmo is going to be my carier. Whats this about Non Tmo devices needing the Tmobile 4GLTE APN added to the phone to connect to 4G LTE? Does this mean I don't have LTE (I guess it related to 1st question). And how do I add the tmo 4gLTE APN?
5. How does insurance work with unlocked phones and who do I get it from?
Sorry for all these questions. I'm fascinated and I want to be a developer one day so I'm trying to find my way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. You can get lte if your in a lte area. You will get hspa if your in a Markey with the 1900 band
2. You can flash roms kernels and radios now with s on
3. Prob no need for s off anymore
4. Put in the SIM should be auto or just Google it
5. Squaretrade.com

I am still struggling, some people say that you will never get 3g, but yes on 4g, some other says that you will never get both of them since you are Tmobile. I can tell you, I have Tmobile wiht my HTC One Dev edition and I am getting HSDPA, and I pretty happy wiht that, but I am also worried why we are not getting 4G, so I also have started reading about that, the specs are almost the same, but it looks like the problem is the radio installed in the dev edition. So it look like if some dev are able to pull the radio out of the Tmobile HTC One version and try to adapt it or maybe directly installed in out dev edition it will work. I heard this a couple of days ago from another topic in this forum.
Good luck:good:
So 4glte runs on AWS 1700 and dev version doesn't support it unless a developer figures out how to flash it on the dev phone. Do you think that possibility is high? Thanks for the info.

Wow... when you say neither that's pretty scary. I certainly hope that's not the case. I live in NJ in a 1900 rich area. I really do hope we can get LTE and hspa+. I told my wife we are getting 4g with these new phones but I guess I read wrong. We're coming from Sprint so even if we get hspa+ it's a major improvement.

So I heard that the problem with dev version is that it has the compatibility built in hardware, but the radio which comes with the dev version doesn't support it, the problem here is that I don't know if flashing the radio from Tmobile HTC one will brick our phone.
If some developer could come to the thread and give us some answer, I don't have enough knowledge about how radios works.

You can flash it without bricking, but based on a thread in here that it doesn't work. There might be addition files other than the radio or something.
based on this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2223236 we have the same devices with T-Mobile and AT&T
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2248586 is where some people have tried and it booted, but they don't get HSPA+ on non-refarmed areas.

I suspect that we are going to need S-Off in order to get this working, assuming that there is not in fact some hardware difference between the dev and TMO versions. I've read the threads, but I don't know where they get their information. I have not seen anything from HTC on which hardware is in the various phones.

I have not either, but based on current information to go by that's all we have. I think the only way we could tell for sure is a complete tear down of each model, but so far that has not been accomplished. If there are any variations in the hardware we'd see them and could say "It isn't going to work". If there is no difference then it has to be software/firmware thing.
Hey guys,
If this has been answered previously, then please forgive me, but I wasn't finding anything definitive in the related threads. I've got an unlocked Developer Edition that I plan on using on T-Mobile. I really wanted the extra space and I *believe* San Diego is refarmed and so should work reasonably well (although if I get Edge speeds I'm gonna be bummed).
Anywho, has anyone figured out whether there is:
1) any way to get WiFi calling working? Not positive I'll need but wondering if I need to flash a T-Mobile modem or rom to get that to work on the DE version
2) if tethering will work if my plan supports it (it does - I've done it on my T-Mobile Galaxy Note II)
3) does flashing one's modem cause the phone to show as "tampered" or "modified"? My preference would be NOT to add the bloat unless I'm going to lose out on the aforementioned features OR if the signal ends up being dramatically affected.
Lastly, has anyone else had any experience with the Developer Edition on T-Mobile in San Diego? Wondering what to expect.
Thanks in advance for any and all help!

I have the Dev One on T-Mo in Az and it's awesome. I've seen up to 24mbps on LTE and as little as 12mbps on LTE here.
I'll try tethering but I don't see why it would be an issue. My rooted Sensation tethered just fine and with a non-carrier phone we should still be more than able to do so.
Not sure about WiFi calling as I never used it. With unlimited minutes and decent reception at home it never crossed my mind to try it.
WiFi calling does work you just need to flash a ROM that has it. It has been implemented in International ROMs so you don't have to stick to just T-Mobile firmware.
Thanks for the answers, guys. Guess I stupidly figured the Developer Edition WAS the International version rom already - no? Guessing not by your phrasing.
Guess my problem when it arrives on Thursday (fingers crossed) will be that I'm not certain whether I can completely revert back to stock after flashing should I need to return it. Will do a little more research. Have flashed the hell out of my Note II but I thought I'd read that all methods on the One end up with "Tampered" being displayed, which I'm sure would cause HTC to NOT take it back, even within the 30 days.
Then it's just a question of how good or bad the data speeds end up being in San Diego.
Thanks again for the help.

why do i have to use the international version of revolution hd instead of the at&t version when i am on USA at&t for my preferred wifi networks to automatically reconnect? Also the signal bars are all out of wack. I know you say don't worry your still getting full signal, but who wants to look at no bars all the time? can someone please give me a valid reason for my question???
You know, running a custom ROM is a continuous work in progress, issues crawl up, but are eventally ironed out. As long as it works, your issue is only a minor cosmetic thing.
Alternative is running your stock AT&T ROM, when it bothers you that much...

I doubt anyone is going to be able to give you a "valid answer" to your questions. I have had no issues with WiFi auto reconnect on ARHD or TrickDroid. Not on any of the 3 HTC Ones I've unlocked and flashed. I don't know what to tell you there.
The AT&T bars are lying to you. The signal -dBM is the same regardless. You can either accept "lower bars" or not. This is going to be one of those times where you can't have your cake and eat it too.

Sounds like the Sprint network in a lot of places. Here around ETSU and downtown, it is unusable except for when the college kids are out of town or sleeping.
i am having issues this morning also must be a sprint outage
Edit:
Seems to be back up in my area now
I also have Htc Evo 4g Lte and its not like this. I just flashed both phones to Verizon and the Htc one problem will not go away and what's interesting, Is that with Htc Evo 4g Lte, I can talk and use 3G at the same time but the HTC one 3G icon quick disappears as soon as I start to make a call .

I think that may be due to the hardware in the phone. I'm not entirely sure, but the 4G LTE is able to do both because the hardware allows it to (2 radios?). I know for a fact though that it can't be done on the ONE unless it's LTE.
Here's an article to support this: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...supports-simultaneous-voice-and-data-over-3g/
As for the data issue, have you tried this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1710728s-voice-and-data-over-3g/

Thank you so much. For awhile I was going crazy but didnt even bother looking into it sucks that Evo Lte have SVDO and the ONe doesn't. I thought it did that on the Evo cuz the phone was flashed but now I know. And to fix the data problem I Used the guide in the second link and worked fine a sprint phone but on the flashed phone some ppl claimed bein s-off solved data speed problems so I got s-ff and flashed a different Rom instead of being on stock and rooted. That solved it
The problem with my One is that when I'm on WiFi, I get like 15 Mbps on Speedtest.net but the browser takes forever to open up pages and load photos on Facebook and stuff. I'm running full stock and it does that. Weird...

Make sure you have upgraded to latest firmware. My brothers red one came without update and he had the same issue.

Hi, i just traded an iPhone for this great piece of equipment, I was on android but decided to give iOS a try (no thanks).
I got this and I got data working, but I feel that the 3G is very slow, it shows a GSM icon for data. Is it just me?
Its on stock rooted 4.1.2 sprint ROM.
Thanks!
I am with the same issue... Have you fixed it?

If your One is from Sprint you are in very bad luck.
Those cant be used on 3G on America (Telcel) since those dont have 850MHz Band for 3G. Is not a matter of software is a matter of hardware, this cant be hacked or dampered. They are locked by Sprint only for 1900/2100 bands.
Only the ones from AT&T or TMobile can be used on those frecuencies.
You only can use M7 from Sprint for make phone calls and SMS along wifi.....for data you will get just 2G - EDGE
Sorry.
