Hy everyone! I am very satisfied with my phone but I have one small problem.. When I download a new app the phone, or I am in the process of installing, the phone get very laggy for a couple of seconds and the apps on my home screen reload. They disappear and reappear in a second or two. Why is that happening? Also when I go into apps or widgets it gets a bit laggish when scrolling around.. Is that normaln for a stock ROM? I`m on stock JB,rooted.. And I did a factory reset after update to JB and manually installed all the apps..

Rolling back is not an option.. Do you have a ROM or kernel to recommend?
It's normal; the homescreen is just refreshing so it displays the shortcut for the app. (it auto-places one on install)
And about the lag, download "Advanced Task Killer" and kill the apps/processes, or use the stock one. ("Task Manager")

The task manager won't get you anywhere. Android handles processes not like crappy windows and the task manager thing is unnecessary as hell. Search for it.
For the rom/ kernel thing try it out yourself . There are many good and stable ROMs on here.

Hi All,
As I can see that no matter which ROM I install in my X8 the phone will be great in the initial days but it gradually slows down as days go by.
So can you all list out different methods to keep the phone fast and snappier without factory resetting it?
Thanks,
Well first thing that comes to mind is a reboot. But i guess you've done that. Clear cache?

How often do you install new apps? More apps = more lag

Well I guess that would make it a little faster but is there a way that i can do without rebooting the phone and going to recovery and all?
Does the app "RAM Manager" help? or the "Engine flush" in supercharger script by zeppelinrox?
Try Ram Manager Pro
Clear cache

Ram manager didn't work for me. I use supercharger. I'm not saying it's better, just my preference. Well, fef (flush) works. I haven't experienced a major decrease in performance since using it. Hopefully it works for you too.
But still, i've found rebooting your phone every once in a while helps.

It isn't a good idea to mix scripts.. Use one only for performance tweaks..
So either use Ram Manager Pro or supercharger..
My preference is Ram Manager Pro because you don't need hubble telescope to read the settings and apply the tweaks..
Reset factory settings
Cachemate and similar apps work for me, I clean cache every 3 days and phone is never sloved

How about a custom kernel. That may speed your phone up and give you the option to overclock and undervolt. Both will make it faster. But the x8s hardware is outdated anyway. Won't be long 'til it's on the legacy devices list
Hey theres one simple solution..use good task manager.......and use swapper........

Use swap IF you're on custom kernel. DO NOT use a task manager.
Either way, your phone will gradually get slower unless you do a reboot at least.

Just reboot. Rebooting stops all cache. You could clean database and wipe dalvik cache too

This what I did...
I use FroyoBread v23b (Great rom, hanks to doixanh), I did that:
# Just install the necesary apps. Don't install all the aps, I just have Twitter, WhatsApp, Facebook, SMmagager and root explorer.
# Install modules and scripts. I recommend you Supercharger, do a overclock (Not to high, just the enough, like 691mzh)
# Like the other guys say, Clear the cache.
# Use a simple launcher. Like LauncherPro, you can do nice things with that launcher.
# Disable the screen animations. You'll gain performance but loose visual attractions. If you don't want it, dont do it.
# DONT USE TASK MANAGER. The simple answer it's, leave Android manage the RAM.
# Use a light and simple theme. Like system theme of Gingerbread or Motoblur.
Here in the forum you can a lots of launchers, modules and more, just use the search tool.
This is I remember what I did, my mobile fell so light and quickly, no lag in the scrolling.
Sorry for my bad english :silly:
I think u didnt factory reset a once.

Reset to Factory Setting / try to re-format your SD Card. Don't forget to make backup
There is a dudy way to got the phone to new condition.
Backup ur current rom with x-recovery
Fully wipe data
Restore that rom from x-recovery.

Well , I "freeze" apps which I rarely use , and wipe cache+dalvik cache regularly..
My task manager is gone from the app drawer. I reflashed my rom, but still the same. Flashed another rom and still the same! I did full wipe and everything else, but he is not showing. I can enter through the Recent Applications, but its not in the App drawer. Could it be from connecting the phone to my Philips Smart TV with the usb cable? Any ideas on how to fix this?
Try to see in the system/app if it is there.
If it is there, do you have app installed that hide the said app not to appear, for example a go launcer.

Try to format your internal sd. Be in safe kernel first before doing it like speedmod k3-13 if your on ics rom.

Yes, im on ICS with Hydra Core kernel. Is it safe?
Yes you are safe. Its better to factory reset and check also the format usb storage, remember if you do this you will lose all your data. Use titanium if you want, before restoring pls check if the said app appear.

How to disable the power saver off in notification bar? Permanently preferred. That one is really annoying.
Thank you
If you long press it after dragging down notification bar, then click on 'App Info'.
Then click force stop it and it should disappear from notification menu. But I think when you reboot phone it will appear again unfortunately

If you're rooted, you can use the JMZ Power Saver remover app from the Play store.
If you're unrooted, the Force Closed method is your only option at this time.

yea 4.2.2 solves this issue but since it just came out none of the custom roms have any of their mods and changes incorporated so like most people i'm probably going to wait until i can flash all my stuff over.
Hey,
Im running Android 4.2.1 Cyanogenmod 10.1
I flashed it some times ago and my device got pretty slow. I reflashed the same version, then my device runs fine and now its slow again,
Its so slow and laggy that i am not able to use it. Apps take seconds to minutes to open, caller IDs dont show up. Sometimes i am not even able to slide the bar to answer incoming calls because of lags.
The only thing i noticed is, that sometimes an error message pops up with the text "system ui shuts down" (maybe incorrect translated, in german it is: System UI wurde beendet) together with an Okay button. And if i click Okay, everything runs smooth and fast. Maybe its possible to identify the problem if i knew, what exactly shuts down so i could try to reproduce it or fix it otherwise.
Any ideas ?
Upgrade to 4.2.2 first of all and then run v6 supercharger
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda app-developers app
system ui shutdown or force closing means system doesnt properly flashed, try to fix permission first in cwm or using app, did u format system in cwm before upgrading?clearing all cache? n clearing dalvik cache?
if all already done, try doing it again n flash back ur chosen rom, or pix some stable or RC version, or maybe custom stir-boil ROM.

Hi all. I use CM 10.1.3 by Mardon for ace cooper. When i install a couple of mods from recovery after few reboots the screen automatically shows and functions only via a small circle displayed when touched. To select an app, i first have to drag the circle to that app and tap to select it. I have to reflash the rom to restore normal functioning.
Any suggestion??

I could'nt find any settings for this..not even in development settings. It's more like a pen view like on Note2.. a circle follows and selects the app on which circle is positioned, but since ace does not have any pen i have to drag the circle..
And i don't really flash strange mods, only ones which are used, reviewed and recommended.. and this happens after every few mods (not the same ones)..

It is not specific to fly on. It happened with me on “★ [MOD ] ◢ PurePerformances ™ X ◣ | SirI
Edition | Scary performances on your Ace" also.
The first installation is fine..the problem is with third or fourth flash..be it update or uninstaller. I guess the problem showed up when I flashed PX Recovery 0.4.0 or updates for MA6 KERNEL..
I strongly feel its some problem with device booting from recovery or script installation..

I hope you are not mistaking the cicle with boot animation circle..its one like in air view with a touch pen enabled..
The touch screen works but only via draging the circle around..
Also the circle does not stay on the screen, it appears when i touch it, then disappears after 3-4secs.

I used Fly-On mod on Mardon's CM10.1 and I've never had that problem. Also I'm using that mod right now on CM7.2 and also no problems at all. Wipe all and re-flash the rom, I think it's the only way to fix this problem.
