You are following instructions from another forum and you want advice here on their post . I suggest you ask the forum that you are getting this rom from .Who knows what instructions are might be completely different advice given here .
Or search here for backing up efs folder .

problem solved thanks anyway =)
I already managed to root and get clockwork mod and even flashed thrill seeker using the instructions found here. I am relatively new to the modding scene and am confused by all the talk of flashing Kernel and Baseband. What I really would like is to get gingerbread but I dont know where to get a rom and do i need to change my baseband. could anyone explain how i could get to gingerbread or point me to a step by step instruction guide or video. I am so confused Thanks in advance for any help
You can flash the kdz file for gingerbread. I would post the link but im on my phone so I cant find it. You can check in the thrill sections.

Hey guys i really need some help. I tried to install clockworkmod on my T-mobile samsung galaxy s (sgh-t959v) and i guess i bricked it. All that comes out on the screen is a phone and a computer. can someone pls tell me what to do to fix this and install the right way.
Thank you in advance
Fairly new to all this myself and don't have experience with T-Mobile but if you go here you should be able to get a Firmware for your phone: http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=SGH-T959V&r=5#regiona
You should be able to download a stock firmware, odin & everything else you need to flash your stock firmware. From this site.
Perhaps wait and see other responses though as there maybe a way to fix without flashing a stock firmware. Also getting some info from someone with your phone on T-Mobile may be better.

Just confirming that what scubadude said above. Flash new firmware, it is a soft-brick and therefore recoverable. Something that needs to be added however is that you will need to make a login in-order to access the direct link. If the link still doesn't work after that then click firmware and follow on from there..
And where would I find the files necessary to do so. I cannot find how/where to do it? (for the HD+)
edit: found them here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2062613
Hello, I need to teach or guide me how to use the PIT files for a full installation of the ROM STOCK. The problem I have is with sound and need to do a full installation to exit the question whether or not the hardware.
Thank you very much for your time :good:
