[Q] Unrooted HTC One randomly rebooting (error log inside) - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
Would really appreciate some help here in regards to my unrooted Telus HTC One currently running Android 4.3 (latest version)
Haven't really done anything in particular with this phone - using it the way it came out of the box essentially.
At least 2-3 (sometimes even more) times a day, the phone randomly reboots (typically while it is sitting on standby - i.e. not being used)
This problem popped up out of nowhere, and I don't have the slightest idea what is going wrong with it....I've also reset the phone, downloaded the apps from scratch and hoped that would take care of the problem but no dice.
I've taken a screenshot of the latest error log (pls see below), but I'm unable to decipher it and see what (if anything) is the problem with it...does anyone understand, based on the log, what may be wrong with the phone? There doesn't seem to be a whole heck of a lot of info to go from on that report.....
thanks in advance.

Factory reset the phone
save the important stuff first then switch off
Press and hole vol down and power it will boot choose factory reset (use vol keys to select) and give it time then reboot

How did you fix this problem? Got exactly the same problem!
Just had it send to htc for repair, but all they did was do a reinstall of the software.
Did not fix the problem.
I tried a new sim card and even without a sim card it randomly reboots or crashes 2-3 times a day.
Think I have to hand it in again..

[Q] [Data loss] Gt-N7000 auto reboot and restore today

Hi,
My samsung note (GT-7000) went hot in my pocket today. When I felt the heat and took it out of my pocket, it has restarted already and was asking me to input names and other settings; the kind of settings we need to go through when the phone is new. The home screen is also set to like the default.
Then I realized all my contacts, call logs, calendar info are no longer displayed! I didn't back up these data to my google account! SMS messages, photos are still there though.
Is there anyone can help to restore the lost data? Can explain why my Note auto-reboot and reset itself?
My current phone status shows:
Android version 4.1.2
Baseband version: N7000DXLS8
Kernel version: 3.0.31-906407 [email protected] #3 SMP PREEMPT Mon Mar 11 17:57:42 KST 2013
Build number JZO54K.N7000DXLSE
I cannot recall whether this is the same as the status before the auto-reboot/reset.
Thanks!

[Q] HTC One (2013) WiFi error - unresolved despite factory resets

Please help. This is the second time in 4 months my HTC One is having problems with WiFi. Out of the blue, the WiFi shows "error" or "turning on", briefly identifies near by wifi networks, but essentially doesn't connect to a network. The WiFi logo keeps flashing in the settings section, the On/Off is greyed out. Bluetooth is also affected.
I have done umpteen number of reboots, cache wipes and factory resets with no luck.
The first time I had this problem 4 months ago, it resolved by fluke after repeated factory resets!
This time, it's been a problem for more than 3 days.
The details of the phone are as below:
Android version: 4.4.3
HTC Sense version 6.0
Software number 6.07.1540.1
HTC SDK API level 6.25
Kernel version
3.4.10-g77e9ea0
[email protected]#1
SMP PREEMPT
Baseband version 4T.28.3218.04_10.33E.1718.01L
Build number 6.07.1540.1 CL356475 release-keys
Your wise advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

[Q] I keep having the well known audio issues

Hey guys,
I guess it's the same issue as everyone has.
I'm testing it with calling from Skype on my computer to my phone, and I hardly hear myself. If I speak really loud I hear some parts of it coming through.
I've been trying everything I can find on the forum and I can't get this fixed, so I decided to try to post my problem.
First of all, I never rooted my device.
I'll try to describe as good as possible what device I have and what I have tried.
In Software information I see :
- Android : 4.4.3
- HTC Sense : 6.0
- Software : 6.09.401.11
- HTC SDK API : 6.25
- Kernel: 3.4.10-g40b189c [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT
- Smallband version: 4T.29.3218.08_10.33F.1718.01L
- Build number: 6.09.401.11 CL366813 release-keys
I have :
- reset my phone to factory defaults and have not logged in with my Google account yet after doing that
- cleared all data and cache from Google Play Servie
- figured out how to go to recovery to wipe cache partition
Have I missed something? Are there any other things I can try? Should I let HTC fix it? Should I try rooting it and use a custom rom?

Hi,
I'm having the same issue, my phone is HTC One M7 with fresh developers edition with all updates, and also all google play updates. However when I'm using skype, viber or hangouts, only secondary mic is on, primary is muted. When I'm making ordinary call, everything is O.K., except all mic's are muted when speakerfon is enabled.
Is there a way to unmute mic's during speakerfone enabled?
I have found, that my problem was in durty secondary mic, cleaned and everything is O.K. now! Noise cancelation is working hardly, and thats why no body is hearing you.

The secondary mic is the one on the back right, the upper right corner?
It's only a small hole, how do see if it's dirty and how do you clean it?
Actually two months ago, I have changed my broken screen, so I'm familiar in opening the device... and I have cleaned it. I will not recommend anyone to open his HTC ONE M7, it's one of the worst devices to repair... So for me this simptoms are hardware issue, and if you have still warranty - use it!
Update: my issue was caused by a broken mic, I got it fixed and everything is working 100% again.

I can't believe how many people have this same problem. Fingers crossed I stay lucky.

[Q] randomly rebooting, and then getting no service on reboot (modem power failure).

Hello!
For the past few months my htc will randomly reboot, and will not get any service once back up (no imei, no meid, no known provider, no service strenth).
I checked the error logs and it looks like it's saying "subsystem_restart_wq_func[dc939a00]:failed to powerup external_modem!'" right before the restart. it is also saying "set_restart_reason: 776655aa." before that.
after the reboot, it also says it fails to powerup the external modem, and that it was a ramdump.
i've tried doing a factory reset, and that seemed to work for about 20 minutes. I did another factory restore after that, and it worked for about 20 minutes again and then rebooted, and now i get no service. when i have no service it doesn't memdumb/random reboot, it'll stay on forever. but if i restart it a few times and happen to get service, it'll let me call/text until it memdumps again.
i've tried googling, but haven't found much help. Thanks for any ideas!
everything is stock. i've never rooted or changed my rom/kernal.

HTC One M7 stock ROM - random freezes after update to Andoid 5

I have HTC One M7, stock ROM, unbranded, S-OFF only, and I am experiencing random freezes after update to Andoid 5 few weeks ago.
I never had any performance problems before. Now, phone grinds to halt few times a day, I have to wait from 1 to 5 minutes until it unfreezes and is usable, I have a random restart once every ~2 weeks, and 75% of times copying any data from PC (tried Windows 7 and CentOS Linux) to phone freezes the phone completely and only hard reboot helps. Accessing data i.e. movies / music sometime takes a few seconds (but this is minor problem comparing to the previous ones)
Some applications cause parts of the operating system to crash (this is my wild guess as how would I know what is really hapening there)- yesterday I used Skype and phone "restarted" - had HTC One boot up screen on, but still continued Skype conversation for another 10 minutes, had to hard restart phone afterwards as could not hand up or anything else.
I have tried restoring to factory settings - no difference.
Any idea what's wrong? Is this a known issue? Halp.
Tempted to try custom ROM / flashing RUU and never updating to Android 5.
Phone details:

RADIO 4T.35.3218.16
OpenDSP v35.120.274.0718
OS 7.19.401.2
fyi: I have wiped everything and installed custom ROM 2 days ago and problem seems to be gone.
