[Q] I keep having the well known audio issues - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I guess it's the same issue as everyone has.
I'm testing it with calling from Skype on my computer to my phone, and I hardly hear myself. If I speak really loud I hear some parts of it coming through.
I've been trying everything I can find on the forum and I can't get this fixed, so I decided to try to post my problem.
First of all, I never rooted my device.
I'll try to describe as good as possible what device I have and what I have tried.
In Software information I see :
- Android : 4.4.3
- HTC Sense : 6.0
- Software : 6.09.401.11
- HTC SDK API : 6.25
- Kernel: 3.4.10-g40b189c [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT
- Smallband version: 4T.29.3218.08_10.33F.1718.01L
- Build number: 6.09.401.11 CL366813 release-keys
I have :
- reset my phone to factory defaults and have not logged in with my Google account yet after doing that
- cleared all data and cache from Google Play Servie
- figured out how to go to recovery to wipe cache partition
Have I missed something? Are there any other things I can try? Should I let HTC fix it? Should I try rooting it and use a custom rom?

Hi,
I'm having the same issue, my phone is HTC One M7 with fresh developers edition with all updates, and also all google play updates. However when I'm using skype, viber or hangouts, only secondary mic is on, primary is muted. When I'm making ordinary call, everything is O.K., except all mic's are muted when speakerfon is enabled.
Is there a way to unmute mic's during speakerfone enabled?

I have found, that my problem was in durty secondary mic, cleaned and everything is O.K. now! Noise cancelation is working hardly, and thats why no body is hearing you.

The secondary mic is the one on the back right, the upper right corner?
It's only a small hole, how do see if it's dirty and how do you clean it?

Actually two months ago, I have changed my broken screen, so I'm familiar in opening the device... and I have cleaned it. I will not recommend anyone to open his HTC ONE M7, it's one of the worst devices to repair... So for me this simptoms are hardware issue, and if you have still warranty - use it!

Update: my issue was caused by a broken mic, I got it fixed and everything is working 100% again.

[URGENT] Please help D:

So can anyone help me to get [ROM][MIUIv5][4.2.2]AdyScorpiusMIUI v5 Version 3[08-Jul] working properly?
I'm currently using The Google Edition of ARHD and I'm pretty much sick of it already.
If I install The MIUI or try Rootbox my Phone boots the rom fine, works amazingly (especially MIUI) BUT if I lock the screen I cannot get the screen to turn back on when I press the lock/power button again.
My phone is an HTC_PN071 its an Optus Phone
4.1.2 android, HTC Sense 5.0
Software number is 1.29.980.2
SDK API level is 5.12
Kernel is: 3.4.10-g42e6c45 [email protected] #1 SMP PREEMPT
Build is 1.19.980.2 CL164689 release-keys
Unlocked Bootloader: M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.44.0000
- - - -
I tried to get a logcat while MIUI was booted BUT it seems that adb doesn't recognize the phone while booted in MIUI...
I think I managed to get a logcat or 2... here:

Help would really be greatly appreciated.
There may be some problems arising from the region, Optus is an Australian provider, the other members would have to add to this, but there may be some incompatibilities there. Did you flash the international option on Google ARHD? If that worked fine then it may be a region issue.

I just flashed the Google Edition ARHD that was up here. No one else at all has had this problem and the only person who had one similar had theirs fixed but the way they did that didn't work for me.

Also I tried the Rootbox as well and It has the same problem, that the screen will only turn on after immediate boot. If I lock the device I cannot get the screen to come back on.
On rare occasion I have seen the screen come on but it would be Blank and be black or grey or a light blue/white/grey color. Rare though since I've tried many ways to fix the issue and haven't come up lucky yet.
Though I'm not a developer I'm just trying to get it to work.

[Q] Unrooted HTC One randomly rebooting (error log inside)

Hi all,
Would really appreciate some help here in regards to my unrooted Telus HTC One currently running Android 4.3 (latest version)
Haven't really done anything in particular with this phone - using it the way it came out of the box essentially.
At least 2-3 (sometimes even more) times a day, the phone randomly reboots (typically while it is sitting on standby - i.e. not being used)
This problem popped up out of nowhere, and I don't have the slightest idea what is going wrong with it....I've also reset the phone, downloaded the apps from scratch and hoped that would take care of the problem but no dice.
I've taken a screenshot of the latest error log (pls see below), but I'm unable to decipher it and see what (if anything) is the problem with it...does anyone understand, based on the log, what may be wrong with the phone? There doesn't seem to be a whole heck of a lot of info to go from on that report.....
thanks in advance.

Factory reset the phone
save the important stuff first then switch off
Press and hole vol down and power it will boot choose factory reset (use vol keys to select) and give it time then reboot
How did you fix this problem? Got exactly the same problem!
Just had it send to htc for repair, but all they did was do a reinstall of the software.
Did not fix the problem.
I tried a new sim card and even without a sim card it randomly reboots or crashes 2-3 times a day.
Think I have to hand it in again..

No sound/voice during call

So I updated my HTC one M7 from T-mobile to
HBOOT: 1.57.0000
RADIO: 4T.28.3218.04
OS: 6.10.531.9
Now I am getting almost no sound/voice during calls.
Sometimes it so happens that I can hear the voice from the other end but they cannot hear me clearly.
So I checked a solution about erasing Google Play Services and Google Services Framework data and cache but It still doesnt work that well.
Is this something to do with the hardware or the Software ?
Looks like software. Some of my friends and me having same problem with exactly same radio.

Any fix for it ?
lol Stock ROMs are affected by this bug aswell. Temporary solution, till google fix it.
Go to Settings -> Apps -> (swipe right until you get to the ALL tab)
find
* Google Play Services
* Google Services Framework
click on them, and select "Clear data" and "Clear cache"
reboot
if that still doesn't solve it, reboot to recovery and wipe cache and dalvik too
I have same exact problem, on two different M7. One (100% stock, unrooted) started acting up on sunday, while other (running viper One 7.01 and ElementalX 18) started having problem today.

Exact same problem popped up from today for me! Given more incidents I'm beginning to think its an incompatibility between some software and the HTC Blinkfeed updates that just rolled out.
It's definitely software since the sound on calls is fine when I boot the phone in safe mode.
Disabling Xposed didn't help - so it isn't any of the Xposed modules either...
I'm on ARHD 81.0 with ElementalX-17.0 and on 6.09.4015
Ho... I'm not alone with this problem ! :highfive:
seems like this issue has really taken off this week. i had it hear and there but a restart usually fixed it. now its becoming a real problem. it seems if i turn location services off it works after that. im really not sure what to do here

Works for me, thanks ! :good:
Clearing framework and play service didn't help me, and it's not helping a lot of other people, but I read on a S4 forum to clear the cache and Dalvik cache then reboot, and that worked for me.

Update to the latest Google play services with this version, released yesterday https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.gms. Or download apk from here http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google.../google-play-services-6-5-99-1642632-038-apk/ Problem is solved for me.
For me all works now with latest services
To solve the gms problem do this:
Go to play store and search for "disable services"
Install it and Browse to Google play services (in system or after self autoupdate in data)
Only disable the checkinservice .
Reboot and till now all Works
thx goes to n0j0e he found it out .

[Q] Bad Radio Flash? No Sound During Calls - Please Help!

Hey Guys -
I've had an HTC One (M7) for a few months now after being an iPhone fanboy for years. I'm into tech and wanted to give Android a shot. I enjoyed the jailbreaking community with Apple products so was happy to see how much more open Android is! Since I've had the phone, I've tried a few different ROMs and at one point know I messed up the radio but eventually got it back up.
A couple of days ago, I tried making a call and I couldn't hear the phone ring even though connected and the other person couldn't hear me. I hadn't flashed anything or made any changes besides app installs during that time. Sometimes, I think the other person can hear me, but I can never hear them. Due to radio issues in past, I'm pretty sure it's the cause but there are so many versions of radios, I don't know which to use!
How I've Tried to Fix So Far
- I currently run ViperOne 7.01 ROM. I tried resetting things by performing the below steps:
1. Updated TWRP
2. Installed Guru Reset M7_5.12.502.2
3. Installed ViperOne 7.01, choose to wipe, and believe choose to flash back to stock radio
One all the above was complete and the phone booted, I saw that my files were still there (it wasn't a complete reset) and I still had root. The OS was wiped so I had to set everything up again. When I tried to make a call - I still had the same issue!
So - what radio (or other firmware(s)) should I flash / install to hopefully repair this thing? I don't care what it may wipe as long as I can make calls.
Phone's Current Specs:
- HTC One (M7)
- AT&T - USA (Tennessee)
- Android 4.4.3 via ViperOne 7.01
- Kernel - 3.4.10-g40b189c
- Baseband 4M.27.3218.14_10.37.1718.01L
- Build - 6.09.401.5 CL366813

there are lots of threads discussing this problem already, but to save you messing with firmware and radio's etc the problem is the latest google play services update.
To fix it, remove the update or clear cache and data for google play services , and google play store in your app settings
