My Z1 USB flap keeps popping open.
Just wondered if anyone else had the issue?
Thanks

Hmm sounds your flap has come loose, well the rubber seal that makes the port waterproof may have worn down a little. I dunno if you can get replacements from ebay and what not but my ones fine.
Phones only two weeks old so going to pop to EE shop tomorrow

Return it for warranty! That sh*t should stay in there for more than 3years, well that's what the rep in IFA said in youtube.

Hey buddy I have had a similar issue on my Xperia Z after 6m of usage. Unfortunately what you will have to do is send the phone to Sony service for repair. They will most likely replace the flaps free of charge. I had 2 of mine on Xperia Z replaced no problem. The carrier picked it up free of charge and then they returned it in like a week with brand new flaps.

Hi guys, i got a nexus 7 around september last year..everything was great until i started getting ghost touches here and there...the tablet would start acting on it's own, swiping around home screens, randomly opening apps and stuff.. so i rang up Asus and ask for a replacement unit...the new unit seems to be fine but yesterday there ghost touches were back again.. then i noticed that the moisture on the screen is actually the one causing the random touches... i downloaded multitouch test from the play store, and put a few small drops of water on a certain part of the screen, and the app actually detects touches on that part of the screen... i think somehow the drops of water are putting pressure on the screen and causing the screen to detect the pressure as touches? is this a manufacture flaw by Asus? it's really bugging me and i hope I'm not the only one experiencing this...

Its not pressure, nor is it a defect. It happens on all capacitive screens like the N7. What is water? It's is a great conductor. Your fingers do the same thing.

May due to a better digitizer on the gnex as the Nexus 7 came with a lower cost.
In digitizer there is something like a noise management system and seem like the higher cost products has a better management for example I has never has a problem with a moisture on the iPad screen but I do has with my N7.

the weird thing is that ever time i won't face this problem for the first few months..but once i encountered it the first time, i keep getting the ghost touches almost everyday...seems like the digitizer is getting worst day by day...

Distilled water is a bad conductor. But tap water and non-distilled bottled water are great conductors.

Yes, I know this. It's not the water itself that is conductive, it's the minerals and stuff in the water.
i may be missing something here......dont put water on your nexus?

Putting drops of water on the screen won't hurt the unit. Well... As long as you don't let it into the bezel.

is there any fix for this? cause everytime i come out from an air-conditioned room, my n7 will start to have ghost touches due to the moisture..it's kinda bugging me a lot..

Try replacing the screen. That is about all you can do.

Stop using it in the tub....steam becomes water.
Sent from my cell phone telephone....
Noise management has an important software/microcode component. I do not see the N7 as being low quality but input and signal management are far from optimal - IMHO.

It's a conspiracy. The NSA is remote-controlling your Nexus devices.
Be warned, and be careful.
How did you get asus to give you a new unit? I still can't get them to remove a scratch on the screen.

I'm admittedly not fully convinced it's not an environmental problem on your end. It gets pretty humid over here, but moving in and out of climate-controlled conditions has yet to cause moisture to appear on my screen. Are you sure you don't have any dust/grit etc. on your screen? That can help water coalesce/probably improves conductivity of any moisture that does appear.

Unless you documented that the scratch was there as soon as it came out of the box, I can't see any customer service department making it easy to exchange a device for a scratch (because no offense, but it's almost always the user's fault, so they're going ot be pretty skeptical no matter what you say).
Today I dropped my phone for the first time
The so called aluminum frame was instantly damaged and to my surprise it was paint that chipped off.
Underneath there is just a hard kind of plastic.
I looked all over the place for a replacement frame but can't find any.
Anyone else with this problem?

First of all, greetings to everyone on this forum, this is my first post here.
I have a black Xperia SP (C5303), and have the same problem. Mine dropped on the street from my hand and although was in his leather casing, somehow dropped on the only side without protection. Was very suprised when I saw that 'alumium' frame was very damaged (damage looks like on your phone) from dropping only 1+ m of height inside of a protection case. The good news is that nothing else was damaged.
The phone is great for my needs, but I'm still not convinced with quality of aluminium frame. Probably this is the price of his weight. Before had Samsung Galaxy S Advance and dropped him accidently only once but without even a scratch.
I was very upset with the damage, but because of its black color it is not as visible as on your white model, so for now I won't be searching for a replacement frame... Hopefully won't be dropping him too much.
Greetings.
Yep it happens, even when I am charging, when the charger scratches the coat on the port, the paint will be chipped off.
Luckily I bought a black one, and the problem is not so bad and visible.

Quite a disappointment. My previous sony phones where solid as a rock.
It looks easy to remove though with the two screws. What you guys think

I think it only happens to white models, on a Spanish forum there is another user with the same problem (paint chipping off)

Now I regret choosing the white model, I have paint chipped off around the data cable port, stereo out, and also around power button :crying:

Same problem in my Spanish SP... Shouldn't this be solved by Sony? aluminium frame is not made of aluminum, isnĀ“t it?
I have also the same problem on my SP. is it normal?? Sony has to replace our frame with a better one.
I'm very disappointed with this ****ty paintjob, my hpone is barely 1 month old and it already got chipped paint on a several spots on the frame. I thought the frame was aluminium because every review I've read said so.... even if it wasn't aluminium, the paint shouldn't have come off so easily. i read sony used water-based paint, maybe that's why.
Mornin'! (at least here in PL)
Yesterday when i was in jacuzzi i decided to take some underwater pictures using my Z. Ive heared it isnt designed to be submerged, though of course SONY promotes it as it does. Ok but lets move to a problem. After first picture taken accuracy gone bad, the water was clean but pictures of even close localised things were blurred. I remember someone here on forum showed his underwater pictures and they were great actually. Mine were not worth a penny... After bathing i had swab the water all of my device and then i saw the mist on the interior site of mirror of camera. Now its already gone but had been there for few houres. Camera still works perfect after mist had gone, no problems there, however mist is an evidence of water coming somehow through. All of the indicators are white, so its not where the problem comes from. So my question is are you guys facing with such a thing after bathing, is it normal or is it as i said evidence of malfunction? Next question if i bought my Z from polish network Play does it mean warranty is ensured only by them or i can take it to SONY Center and they can fix up this issue too?

It will die and you won't have warranty
It will have the same fate as my first XZ.
Death.
Luckily, Phones4u replaced it no questions asked, even though it was entirely my fault and therefore shouldn't have been replaced.

They are there for a reason and when you open them the software notifies you to close them to preserve waterproofness

So, I've had my Xperia Z1s for a few months now, and I've been using the Elite Body Globe case that tmobile sells. For some reason, these hairline fractures keep popping up without me even dropping it. One on the front and one on the back. They aren't connected to the ends of the phone either, which makes it so strange. Anybody know what it could be and if I could get it fixed?
