Hi guys, hope you guys can help.
Got my z1 in this morning in China, thanks to the great Chinese system, all Google services are not installed, which means no calender play store nothing.
After rooting it and trying to install them manually, everything still failed.
"Bright" Idea popped up, I could flash it with an international firmware and everything will be cool.
Flashed, boots up, can't find any cellular network... ok... reboots by itself suddenly, after a few reboots, I have a always on black screen that's, blank. I am thinking I bricked it somehow.
Can someone help explain what I did wrong and how I can fix it? I am a newbie to this...
force a repair using pccompanion.
or flash a firmware for your region

That's my plan for now, but anyone have any idea how to load the google services in? I can't even sync my contacts from my account.
Exactly which international firmware did you try to flash? I'm not completely sure, but the Chinese Z1 might be the C6902, and the firmware you tried to flash may be for the C6903.
Try doing a repair via PC Companion. The Google services should be installed during the repair process.
You should also be able to install the GAPPS from the CM website

flashtool
The only thing you can do in situations like this, as told in every such thread, is reflash with the flashtool.
Will FlashTool pick it up when connecting via Vol -Up? If so, try pushing the FTF again, even a different FTF?
i will try when i get home to see if it will pickup the flashtool.
it kinda sucks tho. why it did this ? i didnt even install anything in the stupid thing aside from few games. jesus.
What FTF did you use ? I would suggest using another just in case, you may / may not need to wipe data
the one from the main thread :/. " not the one with the typo "
i think its from singapore one ? because it had some stuff from that country.
i will go home in 1 hour or so and try to flash without wipe.
finger crossed :/
its not accepting the flashtool.
i turn the device off. i click on the back botton. but nothing.
the log says the file is connected in fast boot mode. but there is nothing . i still get the pop screen that shows the instructions how to plug your device.
any help

ok. by miracle i got it to work. but i am not sure what happened and why it did this.
all good i guess :/
also, i wonder if there is an official version of this. not bloated with weird stuff. like euro version or something.
also. one more question.
is there a root for this ?
Reinstall the software with sony update service is what you have to do
http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/
glad to read that is fixed ..
I had this same issue yesterday. I installed the the update from the India c6602. Things were working fine the first day. I did a reset and then had the same issue as the OP had.
A re-flash with the flashtool didn't work the first time and the I tried the Sony companion fix option, and still had problems. Then I realized I had to install the drivers. Are you on windows 8? did you install the drivers that came with the flashtool? I did and then re-flashed, and now its fine again.

Most people seem to have flashed the Global FTF, you could reflash the old firmware, then when you plug into PC Companion it should flick up the update for you/your region.
I would just flash Global

No luck with sus. Tell me more about flashtool, I don't know a lot about it.
you need to download flashtool. its here in the xperia forum or googling "xperia flashtool" should give you what you need. then you need an ftf file of the firmware for your phone. again you should be able to find it here. go to c:/flashtool/drivers (on your pc) to install the adb drivers for your phone. use flashtool (from power off holding volume - anf plugging in to usb) to flash the ftf for your phone (67 fw preferred) and if you used the right ftf file for your phone (shoot download a few so you can play Round) it should reset like brand new.

Hello,
Silly question but a long one, I really need help (I have bad OCD) so basically I had an xperia z and I took it apart to replace the screen, I did succeed but in the process I broke off the battery connector! so then I thought oh no I haven't done a factory reset (or have I ^_^ because I think I did but I can't remember haha, I didn't think about it lol) then I was frustrated not knowing so I knew about flash tool, so I flashed a new rom (stock unbranded 10.3.1.A.2.67) then its says disconnect phone and then restart the device, the problem is I cant restart the phone or even turn it on because it's dead because of the battery is ripped of the circuit board so I assume it has reset because flash tool says flashing finished or completed successfully, the reason why I want to know if it has reset is that I want the Google account removed from the phone lol so to test it I tried flashing another rom (older) think it was 434 and when it flashed in flash tool says current device is - 10.3.1.A.2.67 then I flashed the 434 and then tried the newer one again - 10.3.1.A.2.67 while flashing the newer one of coarse the device should be 434 but because I haven't turned the phone on it only seems to remember the last software that was put on, when flashing with flash tool again from 434 it still recognizes the phone as 10.3.1.A.2.67 so It looks like it hasn't done it, or has it? It's so annoying I am going mental haha I just want to know if the flash tool will of removed the Google account from the phone and reset the phone before turning it on? Or does it have to be turned on to activate the reset? lol sounds silly but I really need to know please help me.
Thank you very much in advance
Also I found out out later which was obvious but I didn't think about it if I changed the password on the google account would that get rid of the google account on the phone?
Anyone?

If you wiped datas with flashtool then normally all have to be like in the beggining because there are no datas more from the old system..
Gesendet von meinem C6603 mit Tapatalk
Check Wipe data upon flashing.just like doing a factory reset.all data will be deleted.

Hello guys.
Almost 2 weeks ago I had a really strange issue with my SP. I force stopped a Sony Select app, and then my device got in bootloop - over and over again, never stopping. I got home and repaired it successfully with PC Companion.
Now, it happened again... But it wasn't Sony Select Force Stopping now. I changed my theme - to a downloaded one; the wallpaper wasn't showing. Redownload the same theme - the same issue. Then I also got no wallpaper on the other themes... I thought of restarting the device. Then, SURPRISE! Bootloop.
Now I am repairing my phone again using PC Companion.
If anybody knows what causes this issue, please let me know, I never ever rooted this device, only upgraded via PC Companion, not other sources.
Thank you.

But I'm from EU. I'll probably try another one from EU.
Even so, what really caused this?
There is not always a cause we can point out. Sometimes the systems gets messed up for some reason. You can Flash General EU from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2645939
Hello, XDA community,
Since I couldn't find a thread here discussing this problem, I'm starting one now.
Everytime I start up my phone or whenever it runs out of RAM and tries restarting background services/apps, the "First Time Start" application reappears in the taskbar (it actually is com.sonyericsson.startupflagservice) and then the screen opens up the "Check Fail" screen (image attached). Tried looking at ADB logcat at boot, nothing useful (will try again soon). This problem began occuring since Jan 22, when I first started my phone. The phone is not rooted nor messed with (bootloader still locked). Contacted Sony for that, they suggested the obvious and costly solution, to bring it to them so they could examine and fix it, but is there a manual fix? I want to know exactly what is causing the problem and be able to fix it for myself only, since this phone isn't that popular where I live. I have nothing against Sony fixing it, but most probably they won't even explain what caused it (and it happens for me to be a curious person). The phone is bought at RDE.lt , which is a general tech shop, not a phone vendor, and thus no warranty is given.
To be honest, I would fix this by reflashing the phone, either reflash the current firmware (Country and provider the exact same as before)
Or flash a new firmware which is not buggy. It is known that firmwares are not the same as some of them are buggy mess.

Tried reflashing through Sony PC Companion, no go. If I try FTF flasher, is unlocked bootloader a must? I have flashed ROMs before on Huawei u8160, Sony Xperia X10 mini e10i and Xperia Go st27i, but most of them were custom, so I'm unsure if I have to unlock it now.

Download a firmware from XperiFirm
And flash it with Flashtool
It does not require an unlocked bootloader as it is not a custom ROM
Solution
Hey guys. I got the same problem on 20.1.A.2.13, tried to flash the 20.1.A.2.19 twice, tried factory reset but nothing happened, after starting the phone I always got the Check fail message. The problem is caused by the Startup Flag Service 2 (com.sonyericsson.startupflagservice), but I got a solution for the problem. Because it always shows up after the systemboot, we simply just have to prevent it from running at startup.
I used SD Maid (Pro or simple version doesn't matter). Go to App Control, than type in the search box: "startup", tap on it. Tap on Toggle Autostart Components. After that switch the On to Off and reboot the phone. Thats all
Hello, im having the same error. I have installed sd maid. I have searched startup and clicked on it however there is no toggle autostart components option.
