How's this for a battery drain. Completely at 0% yesterday, let it charge over night to 100% this morning.
Keep in mind the following is WITHOUT USING MY PHONE AT ALL (no calls, no texts, no net, no nothing - just had it turned on and in my pocket)
100% @ 8:30 am
91% @ 9:00 am
61% @ 11:00 am
22% @ 12:50 am
I didn't use my phone once - yet in one morning from 8:30am - 12:30 am (4 hours) it is almost at 20%
Can anyone tell me how this is even remotely possible ? How do I stop this? Do I have to buy a new bigger battery ?
This has been this case since my recent update to Froyo 2.2
If it keeps up I have to buy like 3 or 4 batteries to take with me if I go out somewhere or for the weekend. This makes no fking sense at all !!
Clear memory in task manager(level 2). Read the battery status on the phone then enable debugging mode on your device and plug to your PC and let it charge(not the wall charger), charge for 10 min., unplug and read the battery status again. Leave it for 1 hour and read again if you still get the huge drop.

huh? so your basically saying by enabling debugging mode on device and using my PC to charge that THIS will solve it ?
how does that even make sense

I'm not saying that this will solve it, I'm asking you to try it. The battery status is read by the kernel, it's not that your battery is bad or your phone does use a lot of juice but the reading may be wrong.
You don't have to try it if you don't want to, this was only a suggestion.

I will try it - but my phone is literally turning off every 5 hours because of an unknown battery drain (task manager is set at insane - closes all apps every time the screen is off) -- nothing is running at all other than ADW yet im losing about 25% battery per hour
disable task killer, use terminal/adb shell to run "top" and check whether any app is using a lot of cpu
Just root ur device and flash a new modem I use jpe it gives me 45-50 hrs with one charge

A secret code said : *#0228# ADC Reading
Its allow us to do a Quick Start but I found everytime I do Quick Start, the battery life going down... eg. I have fully charged 100%, then unplugged for a while. My Battery life showing 95%, after I do Quick Start, Battery Lift dropped to 90% without any reason..
Anyone have try this? and some explanation about this code? what's its really using for?
I often get that on any reboot. I think it is just the stats not keeping up, and being refreshed somehow when you reboot.
No idea about the code.
Thanks jeromepearce... I thought no one try this code and no any idea... - -"
I tried - but also have no idea what this is good for.
I guess the *#4636# secret code is of more use that also works on Nexus S and maybe more Galaxy phones.
Hi Guys, I really would like to ask some help with my Nexus 6 in which the battery drains to fast and some message always appearing once I try tuning it on back again.
It all started just last week when i noticed that my battery drains to fast, in which lets say the battery has still 70% of power then when Im about to using, the fone will immediately turn off saying the battery is already 0%. But once I try to charge it, it'll be showing that the battery has still 70% of power. Aside from that, every time Im about to turn it on after the knowing that my phone has still enough battery or once I tried to plug the adaptor. A message will appear stating that "Apps updating 15 of 135" something...
I've tried to reset my phone hoping that something that I've downloaded probably have cause my phone to malfunction, but still no use. The battery is draining too fast and that updating of apps is still showing and it'll take atleast 4X I need to turn on my phone with the charger plugin in order for the phone to turn on properly.
Would anyone might know whats the problem or whats causing my phone to malfunction in that way?

The battery is busted, the same thing happened to me. I had to send the phone back to Motorola and they sent me a refurbished one back and its having the same issue. I'm just giving up on this phone and getting the note 4

It could be updating of apps or system. In that case the message "Apps updating . . ." is normal after reboot.
When you have a slow data connection updating can take a lot of time, including battery drain.
Same problem with my n6. But only in high mountains... No restarts when in airplane mode or without sim card

EK GN120 Overheating/Heating/Battery Drain
I also have problem with my ek gn120... first i fully charged it before putting it inside the cabinet for storage then the next morning i get it to transfer files to computer then i notice its warm but the room is cold because of the airconditioning.. then when i try to switch it on it wont open because the battery is drained.. so meaning it is using the battery when battery is connected because the camera is warm when i took it and battery is now drained... then i tried to charge it now and it is super slow to charge. i charge it overnight from 2% and now it is 12% but before i only need to charge it like 4-6hrs then its ok.. i already did the factory reset but still doing the same thing. when its turned on the battery is not charging not like before. so is it the battery need replacement or there's more to my problem other than the battery? thankyou and have a nice day. :crying:
I know this is a very OLD problem, with the battery drain... but have you solved or at least figured out why it drains so badly? I purchased one recently that does the same.
i got this error "Problem Reading Your Battery Meter" and it didn't even charging the battery,,,i'm ****ed up!! anybody know what caused this and how to solve it??
