Is that supposed to happen? Is it safe to assume that my mid is PN0710000 then? if not, how should I fix this?
Wait, where is written this MID?
in adb when trying to fastboot getvar all. It probably didn't help that it says getvar all failed, but I'm stuck here
Wait, if you will you the command:
Code:
fastboot getvar all
you musb be in fastboot usb.
If you're in android, you can boot in fastboot with the command:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader[/url] and now you can use the getvar.
p.s. Post it here deleting imei and serial number :)
I did it just like that, did it a couple more times just to make sure, and still got the same result. Anyways:

Your version main start with 5, when the latest base starts with 3, and this is strange.
However, have you flashed some firmware in this period?
Probably there is a solution, but i don't know atm.
well, I just bought this phone yesterday (yay me), realized something was off when I couldn't OTA update (which is because of S-off), and now afraid to just flash the new 3.62 firmware because of the stars (asterisks?). could it be i did something wrong with the commands?
Try to flash a ruu for your phone
ok, I'll take a look at that. thanks for your help Guich
edit: what kind of RUU should I get? do i need to match it with the bootloader or something else, or any one of them works?

A ruu compatible with your cid
Because you're s-off and all ruu can be flashed fine!
hey Guich, I took your advice and tried to flash the RUU, but now i'm getting very confused. the flashing went fine, but I see no changes on my phone. In Settings>About>Software Information the software version is still 1.29.401.13, while getvar all shows me that the version is 3.62.401.1. Is there anything I'm misunderstanding here?
edit: do i need to unlock the bootloader for any of this?
I have same PN071**** I dont remember what was there before I have it from Ebay probly some Chinesse version but the cover say that it is PN714000, I accidently changed S-OFF to S On and flashed another rom.I cant do S-OFF anymore tried many things. Riffbox doesnt work with 714000 unfortunately.

Hello, I have a problem with updating my HTC One, usually I would go to phone's settings, info, updates, it would scan for new software, download it, reboot, install and it's good to go. Recently I rooted my phone and installed TWRP, now when it downloads the update it reboots but enters TWRP recovery but what do I do from there? If I just reboot I still get the update prompt. Thanks for any help.

a little bit of searching, would have told you that you need to have stock recovery for OTAs to work.... (and obviously stock ROM)
Ok just a quick set of questions then so I don't brick my phone if you don't mind..
So to update I go like this:
- flash stock recovery with TWRP (recovery 4.19.401.9.img I found this?)
- go to settings etc and update as usual
- when updated flash TWRP again
- reroot my phone
I this ok? Will I lose any data doing it like this? My phone is just rooted, s-on.
Thanks.

i don't think 4.19.401.9 will match you current version, so start by posting a "fastboot getvar all" (excluding IMEI and s/n)
and the ROM is stock?

you're getting the update to .11 ?
anyway, yes, get stock recovery 4.19.401.8, available here: http://d-h.st/0Jy thanks to @Guich
flash that, and you should be good to install the OTA, you may loose root along the way, in which case you'll need to re-root after the OTA

Yes, I get the update prompt all the time it's driving me insane so I think the best way to get rid of it is to simply update Thanks for all the help
Hi guys, I am by no means a noob but here's what happened with my T-Mobile HTC One.
I was running the CM11 lastest nightly with the latest TWRP, S-ON when I decided I needed to go back to stock. So I locked the bootloader using fastboot oem lock after rebooting to the bootloader and since my phone was last on 3.24.531, that's the RUU I flashed (I remember now I didn't run it as administrator the first time). The RUU failed and it said that some partitions basically couldn't be flashed. Not the radio, but the userdata and system for example couldn't be flashed. It was able to flash boot though. I kept trying the RUU multiple times. At first it would keep failing the same way, but now I am stuck on the black HTC logo with the 4 triangles in the corners. I kept getting error 155 even though my bootloader is clearly relocked. Every time I reboot the phone manually it goes to the black HTC screen, and I have to insert and remove the USB cable in order to get to the bootloader RUU mode screen, but there's no option for fastboot. I can, however, seemingly unlock the bootloader and lock at my will and also flash recoveries (I still have my Unlock_code.bin and it does get accepted), but I can't get to them.
Now I have yet another problem, I can't charge the phone because I was about to try this RUU instead (5.14.531.1): http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-t-mobile/news/ but now I get error 120. Any idea how I can get this thing to charge and how I can fix my problem once I get it charged more again? Thanks guys I'm kind of desperate here...
EDIT: Maybe another idea would be to format the partitions manually then re-run the RUU, because I was on CM11 4.4.4 and I was trying to reinstall the 4.3 T-Mobile RUU, and maybe they were confusingly formatted for the RUU? Idk.
Okay when I go to RUU mode looking at the bootloader screen and plug this thing into a charger, FASTBOOT AC lights up, but I can't tell if the phone is charging...is that one way to charge it?
EDIT2:fastboot getvar all output:

Alright, I solved it. Solutions were:
1. YES, fastboot ac does mean that the phone is charging
2. I ran the 5.14.531.1 RUU as administrator, and it worked. Cleared up all the triangles and flashed all the partitions successfully. All good.
Hello, guys I have experience with flashing android devices but with the new devices everything is more complicated. I bought a phone but is designed for ASIA region. I live in UK, in internal memory has some applications in chinese language and I decided to download european firmware. Here the problems come. First I need to change CID which required S-OFF. This took me a lot of time because I'm with 1.57 HBOOT. Root and custom rom as well. I also changed MID. I'm not sure why because nothing happend after this changes. I still can't install Stock European ROM. Sometimes, receiving error 155 or stuck at checking header (5 %). Is my goal possible at all ?

You may have to downgrade your hboot to flash a RUU.
What did you change your cid and mid too ? your best to look at @nkk71 superguide before going any further
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541082
I succeeded, but I'm not very happy because can't update via OTA. May be because using European stock rom The installer said:
"We have determined that your phone may be running a modified version of its software. For your protection we cannot update your phone. Please revert your phone to official HTC system software to update your phone."
I tried manually from the recovery but got this error
assert failed file_getprop( /system/build.prop ro.build.fingerprint )
After so much effort I won't revert back to Asian stock rom. Do you have an idea how to skip verifying ? Or what else needs to be changed to make my phone as europen edition ?

what RUU did you use .. your mainver is missing

Sorry, I can't understand everything you said but first edit your first post and remove your IMEI and SERIALNO. Dont post these number ever, you want to keep these numbers for yourself.
There is no ruu for .599 version neither any stock rom. The file you are trying to flash is not a ruu/rom, its a kernel source and its not useful for your situation.
You can use custom roms, or you will need to achieve s-off to change your CID/MID and use another ruu version like the .401 version or the .1540 version.

Flash a close to stock rom (needed to achieve s-off)
achieve s-off using sunshine (will cost you 25$)
change your CID to BS_US001
Code:
fastboot oem writecid BS_US001
change your MID to PN0712000 using the MID change tool in custom recovery
flash the 6.07.1540.2 RUU.

Yes sunshine is a paid app to achieve s-off. Sunshine is the only method to s-off HTC One on Hboot 1.57. This app must be used on a close to stock rom to work correctly. Before charging you the 25$ (via paypal) the app will run some tests to make sure s-off is possible so you will not pay anything if s-off is not achieved.

this CID will work all operators?

there is some CID running all operators?
If the answer is yes, I will continue to receive OTA update?
I mean if I install a CID for all operators

Flash a stock rom!
this one should work fine
another question noob
I live in Brazil
this CID will work all operators?
4g will work as before?
there is some CID running all operators?
If the answer is yes, I will continue to receive OTA update?
I mean if I install a CID for all operators

4G will work fine as before (no LTE).
BS_US001 is the dev edition cid so you'll get ota updates everywhere.

no don't lock the bootloader and don't flash the stock recovery. Just copy the rom to your phone storage and flash in using twrp recovery.

now a question
this is a rom stock?
or is a developer rom?
the CID needs to be changed to match the version of the rom, just so I can receive OTA?
if I do not change CID and continue using this rom version, I can receive OTA update?
there is some rom stock lollipop version?
thank you my friend

If you have achieved S-OFF then follow the steps alray posted here starting with Step 3. When you complete the steps successfully your phone will be a DevEd on the last version waiting for the Lollipop OTA.

I need some help, my phone has the same software number.
I tried to change the MID using this post as reference: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2322820
I get the gray screen, but when I try to run the RUU software I'm having error 170, phone is not connected.
The software just ask me to press finish to close the program, and don't install the rom.
How to solve this error 170?
Hi,
So I have used a guru reset for my Vodafone AU branded HTC One (M7) as there is no RUU for it. I have gone ahead and "relocked" the bootloader (I'm S-ON BTW), and then attempted to run OTA. All works fine until it finished installing the update after which it just goes into a boot loop. I've attempted this twice, both times wiping everything beforehand and installing stock recovery (obviously) and stock radio. Is there something else I need to do to get the OTA to work properly or is it impossible to run OTA using this guru reset.
Any help would be much appreciated.

This was the only stock ROM for Vodafone AU I can find. I originally made a nandroid backup when I first rooted the phone but that has since been accidentally deleted. If you have a more recent version of the stock Vodafone AU ROM that would be much appreciated.
version-main is the most important bit and it's blank :-/ I think older versions of TWRP or CWM had a blank version-main bug? Do you remember what was the last OTA update you took or roughly when? Otherwise, maybe update recovery and see if version-main shows up.
Australian stock unbranded nandroids should also work for you. Go check the Australian users thread for nandroid backups for almost every version (x.x.980.x).
@yatindroid I'm curious about making my own reset ROM. Got any links to info/how to?

Do you have Nandroid backup ?
I have Ubuntu so its easy to open and extract nandroid backup and compression
open nandroid backup extract system and data/preload folder
Take any reset rom replace its system and data folder to your backup folders
replace boot recovery radio files from same version (extract from OTA firmware)
edit aroma config details version etc with notepad++
now zip all files and its ready nothing much require
I think @Joeisgood99 have reset rom 6.xx.980.x version
Aah pretty simple then. Yeah, I have nandroid backups. In fact I supplied the contents of the reset ROM in question in this thread. My main stumbling block was downloading a reset ROM as htc1guru was down the last couple times I thought about doing this.

ok i will send build base zip
@deeevan & @yatindroid.
I'm away from my computer until Friday so can't upload my aroma reset to stock until then.
I never uploaded it coz I haven't had a chance to test it ( deeevan understands why) as 6.11.980.12 is still the latest OTA for Optus Australia, and that's the version my reset will take you back to.
When I get home I'll post a link on the Aussie m7 thread and I'll pm the link to you as well yatindroid in case u need to pass on to others. @deeevan below is the link (go back a page or two,) where @alray walks me through how to make your own aroma reset. All u need is a RUU/OTA of what version u wanna go back to, any old aroma reset .zip and @alray s detailed instructions and your set.

Sorry for resurrecting an old zombie thread, but after a few days of searching the forums and multiple flashes and resetting of my phone (HTC One m7, Australia Vodafone), this has been the thread closest to my own issue. Like OP Poster acnak, I am trying to reset my phone to stock using Guru Reset (guru_reset_m7_2-24-980-2.zip) and while it works, when it goes to install an OTA when it reboots it gets stick in a boot loop.
I have looked for a more recent reset but can't find one. Can someone point me in the direction of one, or give pointers on how to make one myself from one of the ota I have downloaded... or something equally as easy but obscure that I haven't found it yet.

You can't use that guru reset rom to restore your phone, its way to old, your phone is running the 7.21.980.22 firmware so you would need a 7.21.980.2 or 7.21.980.22 guru reset rom and unfortunately there are no guru reset roms for 7.xx.xxx.x version. You can't make a guru reset rom from an ota update. ota updates are only patches, not the entire system and even if it would be possible to do it, you would have the same problem since the reset rom wouldn't match your firmware version.
Simply flash the 7.21.980.22 RUU using instructions from here
This will reset your phone back to 100% stock.

Many thanks on the link and info. I followed the instructions but got the following fail message
Code:
(bootloader) signature checking...
FAIL12 signature verify fail
FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)
From my understanding this means there are issues with my bootloader version which is 1.61.0000. Is there anyway to change this, or an alternative file that corresponds with my hboot version?
Cheers
