When I load an app from playstore it takes to me what seems like a long time for small files even when connected to wifi. Cleared data thinking it would help but didnt. Turned on my OG Note and apps loaded from playstore very quick.

Just to give my opinion : if you know what you do and are sure about what you install, no need.
But in other cases it can be useful : I installed Avast! on my mom's phone (Galaxy Ace) and it doesn't slow her phone nor sucks more battery life. Like that I'm sure she's not going to make any mistake and also it offers the possibility to install an anti-theft part.
So you and only you know in which case you are.

I can't for the life of me believe Samsung did not enable gmail support. Is there anyone out there who is working on getting this working properly?
I thought I remember reading somewhere that you could enable it in the regular email app with pop? Is this true?

I suggest you use imap. Here's how to enable it in your account and the settings for your phone.

Pop or imap? Which is better? Does it remove the notification on the phone in the regular gmail app?
Sent from my SM-N900V using xda app-developers app
Don't use pop or IMAP tell it manual setup, use the exchange settings and input the mail server m.google.com and you will get live pushes instead of the periodic 15 minutes pushes.

Also tell it SSL for connection and use your full email address for the username.

Yes. I don't get it. Everything is already populated. In the domain are you keeping the back slash
Sent from my SM-N900V using xda app-developers app
No I removed the back slash. Mine works perfect. Wonder if you have to enable Pop in your Gmail settings for it to work?...

I had it enabled from a long time ago. I just checked it again and it is turned on but not sure if you need it for this. Authentication error is good, means you can talk to the mail server (m.google.com)

I believe Google stopped supporting Exchange, so using Exchange wont work anymore. If it was working before (When you have it set up a while back), then it will still works, but the new one wont.
I am pretty sure it still works. Can anyone confirm.

The Atooma app has a set of conditions for Gmail that it looks like will send you the body of the message to the Gear. I haven't messed with it much but looks like it is there (and dang cool).

or instead of running 2 processes and getting duplicate notifications you could just install the apk that someone has made to extend the notifications access.

Hi, just want to check if anyone had any issues with the notification switch on their Gear Manager app on the phone.
My notification tab will refuse to be enabled after I switch off my Galaxy gear to charge and later restart it again. I have to go through a reset to enable the notification switch again.
Anyone can please advise? Thanks

I'm suspecting it is the rooting before the update that causes this but I'm not sure.I will try to unroot and see what happens.

I checked with Samsung here and it seems it's a common issue and will be fixed with the next update.

It's working great, updated to the latest Gear Manager, Maybe bcoz it's the beauty of Ditto ROM v3 btw I'm running Gear on my Note II :victory:
Just switched to beast mode a couple days ago..and now I'm rooted and strapping. The question is, Can I restore all my apps with Tibu after I flash a rom? I ask because of the whole new room slot deal. O and is there a volume skip track option yet..like via a module? Thanks for any replies

I think Wanam Xposed has options for using the volume buttons for track skipping. Root is required for it.

It Works. I foolishly forgot to set the application. My old Phones just kind of worked. Still in Wanam set the option to yes in the sounds option. The use pbmc to set the buttons and applications.

For the last couple days every time I unlock my phone I am greeted with "Obamacare has begun - Get quotes".
How do I find out which program is doing that and how do I get rid of it.
Stock ROM (not rooted).
Default Samsung Launcher.
Lookout found nothing.
maybe try lookout not sure????
Sounds like aware. There are as in the play store that will find what app is causing it.

Airpush Detector found 6 apps. 2 with Applovin' (Raging Thunder 2...) and 4 with Airpush (Police Scanner and others).
I hope that once I uninstall all those rogue programs I won't have this problem any more.
Thank you very much.
I suggest rooting and installing FDroid. Google will help you there. After that, look for an app in FDroid called Adaway.
