Apologies if there was a previous post about this, but is there a guide to upgrading the OTA with a rooted Moto X AT&T?

I have the Verizon Moto X DE, just wondering when Motorola usually gets around to posting the new factory images? When I bought the phone in Dec they already had the latest up so I'm not sure how "timely" they are. Thanks
The following link has the image files. Scroll down to Verizon US and you will find the latest 4.4.2.

Thanks! I've been waiting for motorola to post it up in their dev section. Curious, does that website compile their own images after an OTA or do they get them leaked somehow?

You need to read each sections titles in the link above. You'll find your situation if you read them carefully. ?
i believe your situation is, you can't root anything over android 4.4.2.

All of the devices that GOT 4.4.3 -- they can all have their BL unlocked. All rootable.
Remember: the only devices that CAN'T be bootloader unlocked (officially, at least) are Verizon (non-dev), AT&T, and Republic Wireless. All the others can be rooted regardless of android version.
should my moto x 1st gen dev edition receive the 4.4.4 update?
and if yes, is it worth it?
Probably not, you should be running 4.4.3, I think it will jump straight to Android L when it's made available

Please ignore the above post.
Yes, it will receive the 4.4.4 OTA. There are already soak tests being performed (for the XT1053) so it should be available before too long...
Hi!
So, i've already downloaded and installed 4.4.4. on my moto x with the t-mobile firmware, but, it's been over a month and the SBF web haven't updated the T-Mobile section in the Moto X Page with the full firmware of the 4.4.4 version, does anyone know why? will it be updated before Lollipop? is there a link on the web with this full version of t-mobile kitkat? i'm asking this because i've rooted my device and when the lollipop update comes in the future i'll need the files to restore my moto x to stock.
Thanks in regards for your answers!

And questions go in Q&A. ?
Hello everyone,
I have several Verizon variants of the Moto x (XT1096) all on stock 4.4.4. In all of them I am offered the OTA to 5.0.2 which is 678MB. I don't want to download sooo much times the same OTA for each one. Is there a way to capture the OTA to apply it to the rest of the cellphones?
Thanks in advance!

You can use Motorola Device Manager to update your phone from your PC or Mac. More info at the Motorola site: How do I update the software on my phone or tablet using a USB cable? There is a link on that page for the software download page.

What do you mean Verizon variants of the Moto X XT1096? What network are you using your device on that you are being offered the OTA to 5.0.2?

Idk how he is being offered an OTA to 5.0.2 on Verizon. Is he using the phone on a different network?

I thought 5.02 was the current Verizon version. I just got my XT1096 a week ago from Asurion as a replacement for a dropped XT1060Dev. It had 5.02 installed when I got it. The fxz from which we have made our mofo images is 5.02. I had presumed that the 2nd gen MotoX (which I wasn't following closely until very recently) had gotten its 5.02 update a while ago and the OP of this thread had just not taken it.

Another thought here. Aren't OTA updates usually free, in other words they don't count against your data usage?

No, it is 5.0. Go to Settings, About Phone on your phone and what does it say? Mine says 5.0.

You're right, I stand corrected. I really thought when I got this phone last week that I looked and it said 5.0.2 With the previous 1st gen MotoX I was running cm 12.1 which was 5.1 Lollipop and had previously been 5.0.2 so that might be where my confusion come from as well.

The first generation Moto X (2013) are still on 4.4.4. They are getting 5.1 soon though, probably sooner than the MX14 b/c I suspect Verizon is not going to give the MX13 HD Calling so it will be a quicker process for Verizon to test the OTA for the MX13. It really sucks if the MX13 won't get HD Calling but Verizon is not giving the iP5s HD Calling so I doubt that the MX13 will get it either. Also, if you noticed the announcement of the 5.1 update for the MX14 did not include the Verizon XT1096, just TMobile, AT&T and PE. I am sure that is due to Verizon.
Anyhow, the reason I asked this is b/c if the OP is being offered a 5.0.2 update, I doubt he has a Verizon SIM card in his phone. If it is the 5.0 OTA, then yes, but 5.0.2 no. I don't know what would happen if he tried to take a 5.0.2 OTA on a Verizon MX14. I worry that he would brick but maybe it would check the model number and then abort the installation.

Yes, I'm watching that. Since the XT1096 is still a current Verizon phone, hopefully they won't hold it up too long!
