Where the hell are you supposed to buy one of these in the UK?
The Asus website says to buy it at PC World who have nothing in store or on their website. Amazon UK don't have it and Amazon.de won't ship it. John Lewis don't stock it.
Laptops direct have it available but keep moving their shipping date. It's late November now......
I have the money and am ready to go. Come on Asus take it please....... :angel:
I know what you mean. Ive been searching google 5-10 times a day for somewhere in the uk to buy one. I'm wanting to replace my prime with one.

Just pre-order so far.....
I found 2 on amazon.co.uk one is still unavailable and the other one is £469.99 but at the moment dispatch time is 1-2 months.
Because of under 10 post rule i can't post any outside links... or i don't know how.
The price gougers at Ebuyer have upped the price to £460.
I'm guessing most of people who wants to buy it are waiting because maybe price will drop after it will be available in more retailers then just a handful and for a pre-order.
Ebuyer have put the price back down to £429.
According to the website they are expecting a delivery on 9th Nov.

I'm not getting too excited about ebuyer's delivery estimate. After all the 9th is a Saturday. Not a common day for deliveries. Maybe they'll get them on Monday.

I just pre-ordered my Nexus 7 today from gamestop for 249.99. Im in Wave 2, for those of you who also pre ordered what wave are you. Also if you pre-ordered from gamestop as I did the confirmed release date is August 7th
How do we tell?
Ordered mine on the 28th so should be the first wave.

Also does anyone know what countries and also what retailers are "releasing in waves"? I really hope PC World (UK) release them all at once because I ordered rather late.

I don't buy the whole 'wave' thing for my gamestop. I live in a town of hicks and i'm pretty sure I'm one of about five people who pre ordered. They gave me the August arrival date though, which would suck major ass.

I did order from the Google PLay store, and it ended up being around $280 for the 16GB. I cancelled it and ordered it from J&R and am getting it for $234 shipped on top of a 5% Discover Card cashback, which will make it $222.30.
So will I get my Nexus7 a few days late? Maybe. But I got a 16GB one for $222.30.
Guy at Gamestop told me 7/31 or a few days before 7/31, but I'm not really sure they know the real date. All speculation I believe.
Without an official date from Google themselves, take what the gamestop reps tell you with a grain of salt. They don't know any more than anyone else.

And Google phone rep told me if you pre ordered before July 1st on the play store you are in the first wave and the second wave was August 7th. It's kinda funny they're like with a week to week and a half from shipping them and they still can't put a date on it rofl.

I'm pretty sure the wave isn't by store it's the wave of release from the manufacturer.
Anyone who pre-ordered from the play store is in the "first wave" if you are ordering from a retailer you are in the "second wave"
I was told from Google rep they're preparing them in waves. Once that's done they're going to ship them all at once.

Staples website said the earliest they will arrive at purchasers house's will be the 13th. So, I'm guessing the 13th may be the day Google has given the all clear to release.

that's great news for those who ordered from Gamestop - specifically speaking, your local store. Too bad the same isn't reflected here in Australia for our local EBGames stores. Still showing up on the site as an estimated release date of 27/07/2012. Either way I'm sticking with my PlayStore order, as I'd assume would be arriving sooner than the 27th.

I pre-ordered last night at Gamestop and the manager told me they already had a stack in the back room. He also said that I would get one when the release date is finalized.
However, after this, like many have seen, the release date on his screen shows up as 7/31. Said he'd give me a call when/if that date changes and that they'd probably have a midnight pickup.
I can't friggin wait!!

I wonder how many employees that preordered themselves are in the back room after hours playing with their nexus tablets. Back in the day I worked at blockbuster for a while and we always got goods early... sometimes weeks in advance. I never bought a game system or anything but we were allowed to watch movies a week or two in advance.

I was thinking that myself. The reason I preorderd it through Google was so I could get it first. It'd be a bummer if it didn't work out that way.

I understand you being mad (it makes sense), but you shouldn't be mad at the people who get them. You should be mad at Google.
EDIT: Ok. I was wrong. You shouldn't be mad at Google either. They're busting their balls to try to make it fair for you. If some people do get them (which they will) then you should be mad at the company for releasing them.

If you do end up getting it tonight, will you post some pictures and stuff just to prove that it's possible to get it from GameStop early? I'm going when they open tomorrow and asking if they have mine. I'm pretty sure I was the only pre-order and I live in a smallish town, so I doubt they've received anything telling them not to release the devices.

Never done this before - I've pre-ordered my Xperia Z to be delivered to my local store because I can't guarantee being in to take the delivery at home.
I've had the order confirmation but nothing else since - anyone who's done this in the past, what can I expect? Will I get any contact on the 28th to say it's in, or do I just walk in and hope it's there waiting?

There is one available in 3 store in West Quay Southampton. They are happy for you to play with the phone. Salisbury - Soton is 20 miles ish.

Again im going off what P4U said in store regarding delivery all stock including store stock will be arriving in store Wednesday evening from depot, and all preorders will be hitting doorsteps Thursday morning with Royal Mail. i think it will be the same for CFW stock but unsure.

I have asked clove at the start of the month when they are shipping i was told "Units are due into us on the 27th and will ship 28th onwards. The delivery is tracked and you will get an email when we despatch."

You should receive a call from a member of staff once it arrives there, yodel normally deliver to stores late morning, well they do at ours. I would probably get the stores number also and just ring them on Thursday.

Just got off the phone to Nick at handtec. He confirmed that they will be expecting stock tomorrow, and that orders will be dispatched on the same day. Assuming that is that they do not recieve stock too late that they cant dispatch orders the same day.

Yeah that's how it worked at my store too mate when I was working on iPhone launch day... Basically a big delivery of phones come in, in their separate yodel bags and we call every customer to let them know it's arrived
Then if the demo has arrived in store we let customers play on it whilst they decide on cases etc

Realease date is the 16th September in France.
I'm from Australia, I ordered one from the Sony Australia website (they were the only mob taking pre orders and most of the overseas re seller prices were significantly more expensive), currently the website says ships in October, but there's no specific dates and I've heard incoming phones tend to go to re sellers for distribution before they go to people who ordered online... Can anyone confirm this?

Snap, I did an early upgrade and pre-ordered the Z1, selling the HTC One.
CPW Pre-Order
It looks like I wont be getting my Z1 on the 16th
I have just checked the warehouse stock in my local store for the Z1 and there is none in, normally with pre-orders we get stock in the warehouse first and those are for the pre-orders....my order is still open, which means awaiting stock.
Now with the weekend now here the earliest we will get a delivery will be Monday, so I'd imagine Tuesday/Wednesday will be the delivery date, I just hope we get them in soon.
Bought a purple one straight from Sony Norway this time around.
Expected 26-27th.
Also bought the dock, which got the same expected date.
So fingers crossed that I don't have to charge the "crude" way :fingers-crossed:

3 to 4 weeks is an eternity!! Hoping to be able to pick one up from the 17th onwards from my local EE store but will call in first to see if they have any stock yet.
It's a shame the 'swap' promo is not live they had a couple delivered to store already so could of had the phone already.

I think it will be next week as any pre order has to be delivered from then... Its just because I did an upgrade that they had to legally say this... Whichever way, I made great fuss and told them to push me in front pre order queue!
Thats a whole lot better than waiting for a month (I waited 4 to 6 weeks for the Lumia 920 which was a drag).

Just ordered 2 Ivory and 2 Orange. Now I'm researching how to make them work with out Samsung device. I figure with the new S5 coming shortly these will be a good addition.

Are you in Canada? They told me they don't ship to US.. Wish there was a way to get two of these at this price.
I couldn't resist at this price. But what I did instead of buying one through the Bell web site was to price match it at my local Best Buy. With their price match plus 10% policy, I got it for $89.97 plus taxes. Thank you, OP!

I just got off the phone with bell Customer Service and was told that they had so many orders that the system went into Back Order mode!
They can'f fulfill all the orders they took and are now contacting Samsung to see if they can get more to satisfy the existing orders.
I expect Bell will be cancelling many orders very soon.

I am in Nebraska and I got one of my local Best Buy to price match. I think the said ok because I got the orange one ( Broncos fan). I also knew the sales rep because he helped me in the past with a lot of stuff.
Now on sale at Future Shop for 100.
I picked one up today. I'll cancel the Bell order tomorrow.
