So I received the 4.3 OTA update for my International HTC One yesterday (in Denmark). Everything looks good, except for video recording - It doesn't record any audio at all with my videos, and it looks like the video frame rate is way to high as well! When I play them on the phone, or my computer, there's no audio with it.
Incoming calls, music, and notifications work, also audio from older videos I've recorded, so this is only a problem with videos I record after the OTA update.
I've been google-ing around and searching the forum for a similar issue but without any results.
Is there anybody else experience the same problem after the update?
Cheers

Has anyone else had a problem with audio quality in certain apps? When using Heytell and Skype there are distinct "cracking" and "popping coming from the speaker and from headphones. The sound is fine when doing other things like youtube and mp3s. I've heard some people have this issue with netflix as well. I assume it must be a software issue and not hardware. I want to know if I should return my device or not for a new one.
I guess I'm alone with this issue?
I get this on the hacked version of Skype which permits video calling, so I don't feel it's fair to complain b/c the hack may be part of the problem.
I've tried both the hacked and market version with the same results.
I have this same problem with netflix, market skype, and the hacked version of skype. I've seen this problem on the phandroid forums as well. No one has a fix, just multiple reports of the audio crackling and popping. Youtube, mp3, and other media files stored on my phone play just fine.
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
I definitely noticed the hacked version of skype with the crackling "clipping" sound of audio, even though the original incoming audio doesn't get very loud. I haven't tried original skype but others are saying it does the same thing it sounds like.
Just got the HTC One today and so far everything has been going well with the exception of video streaming. Whether it be from YouTube or Netflix, I can't seem to buffer my videos up to a HQ/HD quality. I compared this with an iPhone 5 at the same time and that played videos perfectly.
Anyone know what the problem could be or if there are any settings I can tinker with?
Bump
I noticed a very odd, and big, bug today on my Moto X. I had just got around to linking it to my cars bluetooth and noticed after I ended a call the music didn't resume. Upon opening Pandora I found the music was on fast forward and would not let me stop it. If I was to skip to another song the new song was also on fast forward. I have since tested it on another bluetooth device to rule out my cars bluetooth as the culprit, and it happened on the other device as well. I was also able to reproduce it using YouTube (so it's not a bug with Pandora). I have done a factory reset and the bug remains. I am wondering if anyone else has this or if this could possibly just be a problem with my phone?
Here is the workflow to reproduce the bug:
Connect phone to bluetooth device that supports both phone and music profiles.
Open up youtube and start watching a video (audio will play through bluetooth)
After about 15 seconds click the home button
Call someone (I called a 1-800 number)
After about 15 seconds on the phone, hang up
Now go back to youtube and press play
The video will be playing in fast forward (no audio) and there isn't a way to stop this.
Once you disconnect bluetooth you can then play the video fine
*You may have to make a phone call 2 or 3 times before this happens, but it will happen - at least on my phone.
Can others please test to see if you can reproduce it? My phone is stock and running kitkat with all apps up-to-date. I have also tested this using my Nexus 5 and it does not have this issue. I will try to record a video tomorrow to better show what is happening.
same problem
i am having the same problem, but mine doesn't appear to be connected to bluetooth just all media is fast forward with no audio.
tested so far:
1) audible
2) youtube
3) videos recorded locally stored both on SD and Local drive
4) downloaded videos
5) played on mx player pro, vlc, stock media player
I am rooted and running lollipop on my note 3 N900
Just wondering if anyone is able to activate ok google while recording video. Only reason this is an issue for myself is I run sygic and the dashcam while driving, this recording of course also means I am driving, and ideally I like to be able to have hands free options since getting a ticket and demerits would suck.
Does anyone have a potential work around or am I the only person experiencing this?
Any help would be appreciated ladies and gents of XDA.
further refining the problem, ok google works while recording video only with the audio off. So I can record video but would do so without sound.
Is there a way to record video with sound while still having ok google enabled
I tried recording myself playing a guitar and the sound coming out of the video is terrible! is there any fix on it? gsmarena even knows the problem http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_5-review-1411p7.php http://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_5-review-1411p9.php I have a rooted device with an unlocked bootloader btw
this is very interesting for me since i want to use the phone often for audio recordings. i am just wondering why no other review made this conclusion yet.
the sample video at gsmarena sounds like it is impossible to record a clear audio stream with the camera??
did you try a third party camera app for testing? i just want to know if its a hardware limitation or a weak camera app.
