Got a problem
Hey, I encountered a problem in my gionee m2... Whenever I try to add widget on a 3rd party launcher such as go launcher or Nova launcher, the settings crashes...Plz help me solve this problem!!!

Yup.. Everyone are facing.. Its due to stupid amigo ui.. I guess it will be fixed via future updates..

Exactly, you'll not be able to add Widgets because of Amigo UI. Solution is if your phone is rooted, install busybox and an application named "system app mover" or any application which can do that work. Once this is done, you can install Nova launcher and then open system app mover, granting root permission. Push Nova launcher into system and reboot. Now, Nova launcher will be into your system and you can add any Widgets onto you home screen..

Update:
I was checking out many launchers to see if the widget problem existed in all the Launchers..... But as I saw, the settings didn't crash in Launchers Like nemus launcher or MIUI home.

Okk make any launcher into system app and widgets will work..

Hi! Is there anyone who can port "Color OS" for our Gionee M2? System which comes inbuilt with "Oppo" phones.

The idea of bringing all customization info for Gionee m2 in one place is highly appreciable.
By the way its a great phone, I will just charge it every 3 days (with 3G on for 24/7 & WIFI for 2 hours. I do not play music that frequently. But I browse a lot. With 4 Gmail accounts + 7 LIVE accounts + 2 Exchange accounts + Weather widgets)
Just thinking about my old WP7 phone (HTC HD7) which I had to charge every day (mostly twice) & holding this phone now.....its heaven.
I was searching for days to find information for rooting, flashing.....finally came here.
1. I have rooted using framaroot (third option in exploit list worked for me)
2. Before that rooted it using VRoot tool from XIAOMI site
3. Installed Mobile uncle tools from Play store
4. Downloaded and kept the recovery.img in SD card (make sure you keep it in the root directory - meaning not in sub folders of SD card)
5. Installed the recovery using MTK Mobile uncle tools
6. Then installed ROM manager
7. Went into recovery mode
8. The Touch based recovery was good (compared to old button based where I had problems in my old device where the volume buttons were not working)
9. Remember that the touch recovery there will be no back button. (you have to swipe LEFt & RIGHT for drilling)
10. Downloaded & kept the pure AOSP rom in my SD card
11. Took a complete BACKUP of current ROM (prebuilt AMIGO UI based rom that comes with Gionee M2)
12. Copied the backup to my computer (safe side)
13. Went to ROM manager & installed the custom rom (that i downloaded in step 10). Using ROM manager is easier because you do not have to remember stuff like wipe/reset/dalvik......& what order to perform them
14. Finally had a fresh new OS.
15. Installed themer & my phone now rocks.
DETAILS:
Stock AMIGO UI: When I bought it: Free RAM: 430
Stock AMIGO UI: After installing apps: Free RAM : 140
Custom AOSP: After installing apps: Free RAM : 500+

Yes, Shivam made this nice rom and we're really thankful to him but I think there's a minor bug in this rom with it's tethering. Check this out if you have not got this problem? Try connecting your phone's Wi-Fi 4-5 times and then start Wi-Fi tethering if it gets active? And if it's not then you won't be able to open your phone's Wi-Fi bro..

I don't think you'll get Samsung's keyboard apk file anywhere because it is made only for Samsung roms but yes you can have a look at this thread:

Change 3g sim option included
which of the above roms include change 3g sim option in settings as i downloaded lewa but it doesn't have it .
are there any mods to to do the same for any custom rom and also i am not able to flash lenovo super camera in stock amigo , does someone know why?

Axer, Xperia, canvas 2.2 these roms will allow you to change 3g Sim, and you can also install Lenovo super camera in these rom

Before I Start Here Is Best Guide For MediaTek ROm Porting :
1. MediaTek MT65xx Firmware Porting Thread By Rohan Taneja
2. All About Mediatek ROM Porting Thread By Xtreme.Ornob
3. How To Port & Modify Roms For Mediatek Thread By digyvijaykumar123
Here i'm writing a very simple guide by which you can port a rom to your Mmx Canvas Turbo A250, just follow the procedure properly, this method will work to port most roms even every rom. Porting is only done by copy pasting files, anyone can learn it very easily.........
Requirements & Rules :
1. Rooted Micromax Canvas turbo
2. Notepad++
3 Brain [emoji14]
4. The device from you porting should have same chipset,like if your device is MT6589 then you shoul only try with MT6589 chip-sets.You can port from MT6589T to MT6589 or MT659M but you cannot port from MT6592. (for Porting diffrent Chipest see Above Thread which helps You For Porting)
5. You can port only jellybean roms using this tutorial Becoz There is No Kitkat Rom Available For Micromax Canvas Turbo [emoji14]
6. The rom you want to port must be a xyz.zip file Which Is flashable Via Custom Recoveries
Required Port Roms :
Needrom
Now the porting procedure, follow the steps below carefully-
1. Unzip/Extract the rom you want to port.
2. Download [email protected] from Download Section and extract it using winrar/7zip/winzip.
3. Delete the Meta-Inf folder from port rom.
4. Copy and paste the Meta-Inf folder and the boot.img from the port zip to the port rom.
5. now replace all the files and folder from
system/bin/
system/etc/bluetooth/
system/etc/firmware/
system/etc/permission/
system/etc/wifi/
system/etc/agps_profiles_conf.xml
system/etc/vold.fstab
system/etc/vold.fstab.nand
system/lib/hw/
system/lib/modules/
system/lib/soundfx/
system/lib/(replace all camera & audio files )
system/usr/
system/vendor/
system/xbin/
(replace All Above Folder And Files which provided by me)
6. Patching the boot.img of the port rom.
a) .So, first of download this little tool, to unpack & repack your boot.img -MTKbootimg.zip - tested on Windows 7 & above platform
b)Extract the Tool and you will get two folders named "stock" & "port"
c)Copy boot.img's respectively from stock rom in "stock" folder & from port rom to "port"
d)click On Unpack.bat both case
e)From stock copy "kernel" to port folder and just replace it.
f)Now,click repack.bat it, new file named "boot-new.img" will be generated.
g)Copy "boot-new.img" to port Rom Folder.
h)Delete existing "boot.img" and rename "boot-new.img" to "boot.img"
7.Now replace Boot.img (newely generated ) with Port rom img
8.now goto system/build.prop & open with notepad++. add this Line------>ro.sf.lcd_density=441
9.Now, the rom is ready to be packed and flashed.
10.Compressing & Flashing the ROM.
a)Simply get to the main directory with META-INF, system, boot.img, etc files.
b) Select all the files and compress them to zip. Select the compression ratio as you want.
c)After compressing copy the ROM into root of sdcard
d)Enter Custom Recovery, wipe data & Cache
e)Flash the ROM.zip wait till it completes.

Requirements
1. Phone Rooted and Mobile Uncle Tools (Flash through Phone)
2. Sp Flash Tool(Fflash it from PC)
Downloads
NEW: Carliv Touch Recovery v2.7 (port using stock recovery) Original Thread by @carliv

Instructions (Flash using phone)
1. Download the recovery to your internal sd-card and rename it to "recovery.img"
2. Open Mobile uncle tools and select Recovery Update
3. Flash recovery file
4. Done
Instructions (Flash through SP Flash Tools)
1. Install drivers for your phone and download SP Flash Tools and drivers.
2. Click on Scatter-Loading and the program will ask you the location of the scatter loading file for your device (you can drag from your stock rom folder)
3.Check only recovery.img, preloader and uncheck all others.
4. Switch off your phone (Wait 1 min).
5. In Flash Tool, go to Options and Click USB Mode so that it is enabled. Click options again and then go to DA Download All > Speed and finally select High Speed.
6. Click the Download option (present on the right of Firmware > Upgrade option) and SP Flash Tools will start looking for your phone.
7. Connect your phone. SP Flash Tool will start the flashing process, the progress of which can be viewed from a yellow progress bar at the bottom of the flash tool.
8. After the process completes, a green ring will appear on your device signalling that the process was successful.
9.Disconnect and turn on your phone.

I didnt use this kitchen to compile my recovery but tomorrow i will use carliv_2.7 and kitchen.

@adrpat Now i see were you get the information to port default.prop... I used CTRv2.4 to port automatically carliv_recovery_v2.4 and then i get that info (from default.prop) and port manually carliv_recovery_2.7

- Reboot phone ...
- Wait for long time ..... (coffee or tea ...)
- Done
3. Known bug:
- Enter recovery by press volume key not working.

Fixed: Use root explorer and editor some number in system/etc/sensors.conf like below:

How to flash:
1. Download Resurrection_Remix v5.3.7 rom from link below

- Download gapps lollipop zip and superSU 2.46 zip and put them into sdcard (use google search ... )
2. Download Philz_touch_recovery.zip (for easy to use and option) and put it to sdcard:

3. Flash new rom:
- Reboot to recovery
- Goto : Wipe and format Otions
- Press: Clean to Install a New Rom.
- Flash new rom, gapps, SuperSU 2.46
4. Flash Philz touch recovery
- Install Philz_touch_recovery.zip
5. Reboot phone.
- Done.

nice post. but can you tell me this build is Resurrection_Remix_LP_v5.3.7-20150302 and i see original thread no any build ni Resurrection_Remix_LP_v5.3.7_20150301 so please this is build with new EvoMix custom kernel ????

Just installed. So far is amazing. Everything working. Will report any bugs. Very polished and many options compared to our other LP roms (except boot animation wrong size). I was on CM12 and wiped everything then installed as instructed (but without reinstalling recovery). Bundled recovery is the basic Mokee looking one. Wil try reflash TWRP.

EDIT: It reflashes recovery with rom so I reinstalled Philz via terminal app (as per method 1 instructions) after ROM install.

Yes! Flash recovery via FOTA before or after flash rom is ok, but this menthod only guided to some one with no experience
I think philz touch is easy and more options to use

No new EvoMix custom kernel. Would you port or build kernel to our ZR? I try to port kernel but unsuccessful

New resize boot animation
- copy this file to /system/media overwrite old file
- set permissions: rw-r--r--
- reboot

No problem, you can use TWRP or CMW cause recovery inside boot.img not good

Use Xperia Recovery Manager to push the recovery in FotaKernel partition :fingers-crossed:
