File Orders after flashing ROM - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using folders in my device. But after install rom and restore my apps via titanium, my folders gone and all my apps in the menu.
How can I backup folders?

You can't.
you've to restore manually all the folders.
So, a solution there is, backupping the sense launcher, but after a flash of new rom, you can break it and you've to reflash all the rom

[Q] Working method for restoring Call logs/SMS to ICS?

I know there are a lot of apps for back up/restoring, but does anyone know any working for ICS? I have tried AppExtractor with ROM Manager, didn't work. The Message-app started to behave strange. Tried SMS Backup & Restore, was able to restore the sms but couldn't not open them.
I'm currently using NovaHD's ICS Rom.
You can restore your messages from /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db and mmssms.db-journal in your nandroid backup (just extract and replace)
And your calls from /data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/database/contacts2.db and contacts2.db-journal
(Extract and replace)
Nandroid = CWM?
So, basically your saying that i should extract my backup and the rom, then find these folders extract the backup one to the rom and then zip it again?
Two options
#1 Restore your backup, copy the files to a temp folder on sdcard, flash your new rom and replace them
#2 Extract them from your backup and then replace them
It might be other solutions aswell but these are simple
Nandroid = CWM

just a small mention....file types from CM7 or Cm 9 are not the same with other GB formats....so are not comaptible....be careful with that.
HerrKuk, i'm kind of new to rooting but i need android sdk to do this?!
Sreeprajay, i'm goding from stock rom to custom, should work right?!

Nope, just root and and root explorer (or similar)
You dont even need a computer
Or use nandroid browser from the market : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.goddchen.android.nandroidbrowser

from the stock to custom, it will be prefect...just make sure once you are rooted, backup your msgs and call logs by either apps or by backing the ROM totally....
Hope it helps
So, i installed root explorer, copied mmssms.db(no journal-file), flashed owain's rom, installed root explorer, replaced my mmssms.db file in the rom, rebooted and the SMS-client won't start.
Optimus, maybe this will help you:
This is "backup to gmail"
I have got this aplication (paid) but it`s works on ICS (owain 29)
Take a look on my screenshot.
sms backup & restore works perfectly for me, but no idea on that phone call log
Albatros2605, MoFosis, Thanks for your help guys, but managed to restore my SMS by using SMS Backup+, which copies everything to your gmail and then downloads it to restore the SMS.
Hi guys, I recently screwed the pooch on an upgrade to 4.0.4, and I forgot to backup SMS before doing it. I did a nandroid backup, but I can neither restore the backup nor locate the mmssms.db file in the archive. I tried AppExtractor and Titanium Backup, but with no success.
Can someone help me by telling me where to locate my SMS history in a nandroid backup? Thanks!

[Q] HOw to install Stock Thinkfree office on CM9

Hi all,
I have a CM9 ROM on my SGS. Before flashing, I saved the apk file of the Thinkfree office suite which came with my stock GB 2.3.6 ROM. I would like to install it to my CM9. Is it possible? I tried but it says "application not installed" without any further information.
Thanks
You can try to push with a file manager the apk in the /system/app

I tried to open it with the ES Manager (which was downloading it somewhere and installing it) but without any success. Will try you suggestion.

[Q] Integrate system app updates to rom fails in CM11

In CM11, I'll try to integrate system app updates into the rom.
I tried with TitaniumBackup and Link2SD apps, but they fails.
In TitaniumBackup app, the process looks freeze. Progress bar doesn't grow up, and it stuck in the first app.
In Link2SD app, it told me that it did well, but when I restart the device, the apps dissapear.
I have this problem with all apps (like Gmail, Google+, Play Services,...), and I don't know if is a problem with CM, or app bug.
Did you have the same behavior?
Why don't you unzip your rom's file, substite your updates' apks renaming them as at the beginning, and zip all again?
It's a bit complicated, but works for sure

stock luncher configurations

i was wondering where can i find the configuration file for the stock luncher?
when i switch between different stock roms it's always a bugger to reconfigure all home screen and shortcuts...
so if i could just copy that file and replace it after installing a new rom that whould save some trouble, anyone have any idea?
EDIT:
i think i found it at
/data/data/com.sonyericsson.home
but there are only a few empty xmls there.. so i'm not sure thats the data i want.
Backup with titanium and then restore data only

Supersu Folder Won't go away

I can install 2.78 on my nexus 6p running 7.0 but when i go to full unroot the supersu folder stays on the internal storage. I can boot into twrp and delete it and the suspersu folder still comes back. Even after doing a factory flash of the stock rom it is still there. I even while rooted, I tried to delete the folder, I lost root but when i rebooted in twrp the folder was there. How can I delete the supersu folder? Help!
Thanks in Advance!
as far as I know this "folder" is part of TWRP, not of your internal storage

Thanks, I'll try a earlier version of twrp
