[Q] Low performance on custom roms - Xperia SP Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello.
I rooted my xperia c5303, unlocked bootloader, flasher pacman kernel and pacman rom.
Everything works good, fast and smooth and i liked the design of it.
But here is a problem. PERFORMANCE.
Score in Quadrant is 5100points where was 7900 on stock rom.
I tought that is maybe bad rom so i installed cm10.2 kernel and flashed this rom.
Whats here? The same story.
Everything works smooth except games and score in Quadrant benchamrk.
Anyone have solution?
I have restored device to 2.254 in recovery cwm and here score is still 7500+- in quadrant and games works normally.
I liked design and functions of pacman rom but why it is working so strange?

Benchmark scores dont tell the real performance of a device (for me at least). I believe that you need to enjoy the overal feeling of the device and the ROM it is runnning on.
Also, remember that the base (Cyanogenmod 10.1/10.2) is stable but not "official" released.. So there could be bugs present.

Im not only talking about quadrant score. GTA VC laggs too hard for me. On stock it was smooth. Thats the reason of my sadness.
U told that cm 10.2 is not official, but on PAC-MAN rom GTA VC was the same performance, quadrant too.
Any other rom to install to check performance? Only with clean android please.

My phone running aokp and not lagged games gangstar vegas 1.2.0 very high graphics.
Aokp based cm10.2 unoffical.

Wow.
AOKP is so good?
Can u check Quadrant score ?
Lets start downloading I must check it

I have MIUI and score 6500... No lags in games, gta VC its same as on stock etc...

Best HD/3D/2D gaming performace ROM.

So,
I'm using GDX v22 and Alfs v06, and i see it a bit laggy sometimes in most apps.
I'm stable at overclocking to 768 mhz (for games only, then set back to 600mhz), but RAM is till too low. And even yo will tell me to download some apps for gaming, i would prefer, for you, to tell me, WHAT is/are the best performace ROM and Kernel for GAMES like NFS:****, Asphalt 5, Hero of Sparta, Nova and other games.
I got like max 80mb free ram memorry even after factory reset. But saw that other roms can get up to 115mb of free ram.
Thanks in advance.
Try swap or install mini cm 2.1.8 and naa v10 kenel.Mini cm has got god performance for gaming.Mini cm has kgls 1.1 and better overlock from kernel 2.6.35. Sorry for my bad Englisch i am Poland.
GXR v4 + nAa 10 +OC+ Swap+ supercharger = GREAT GAMING PERFORMANCE

Please Help !!!

I have a problem with antutu benchmark. After i've installed cm9 on my galaxy s plus antutu doesn't work , even i changed builds. Always i've installed from the google play(market) latest version. It's testing my phone normally but when he test graphics part it's canceling the test. Don't give force close, only stops from testing. Excepting graphics testing it works normally. Quadrant works perfect . Thank's a lot for helping
Maybe the app still has a few bugs that need ironing out where ICS is concerned?

Yeah i know but are some people on i9001 developing section who post screenshots with antutu benchmark and it was fully working, and they had the same rom and kernel , or the rom based on wich i use. Any ideas ??

You can change/flash a different kernel and check if the problem exist with the benchmark app.
My Device: SGS I9000 16gb
OS: Android
Chipset: Hummingbird 1~1.4 GHz Cortex-A8 PowerVR
Jelly Bean ROM: Slim Bean[4.1.1] v2.2 kernel: Semaphore
Modem: XXJVU

How dose your device get along with JB?

Hi, some how, every JB ROM that i have tried seemed to be very slow and laggy.
At first, i thought that i was doing somthing wrong but it's not my first time with ROM flashing and i can't be wrong with every installation.
What JB ROM are you using, what modifications have you done with it, and most imprtant, is it fast and smooth?
My device gets along great. Im on X-Bean + Semaphore. On default its running smooth & fast & stable already. But I change settings: LiveOc 120, ondemand smooth ui on, no-op, big mem 404 MB, rasd 1024 and now its even smoother & faster.
I would say give it a try. I came fresh from stock JVT from there I flashed X-Bean 3.0. Had 2 do it twice.

You can try C-RoM Mix. Its very fast, smooth and stable. This is a feature-packed Rom based on CM10 and SlimRom sources.
No modifications needed because its already very fast. But the user can always do modifications on CPU speed and RAM if he wants to.

CM 10 latest nightly+ semaphore 2.6.0
Works awesome!
Running ParanoidAndroid 2.54 with Semaphore 2.5JB + PimpMyRom 2.12.
Can get a little laggy if f.e. unloading a heavy app from RAM (like 3d game, Chrome) but all in all smooth as butter.
X-Bean + Semaphore works best 4 me
Thank you for your help though few ROM's that were written here i have already tried and they were pretty laggy and slow.

[SOLVED] Kernel recommendation for Jellybam ROM (CM10.1)

Hey guys,
currently running Jellybam 5.2.0 on my phone (JB 4.2.1), a great ROM, however I am not that content with the Kernel (which is CM kernel).
Games ran better and smoother on the stock ICS ROM with stock Kernel, also I got better scores on Quadrant.
Can you guys recommend an alternative Kernel that I can use with this ROM? Already tried HydracoreNirvana n6 and it got stuck at boot screen.
Thanks in advance

Performance of stock kernels will be better than normal cm kernel.
Try rhythm kernel, you can overclock it...
