Umh, send it to htc for a repair?
However, check that the problem isn't an issue with some apps with a factory reset.
I already did a factory reset nothing happend and what would the do send me a new one because I heard the almost impossible to fix?

The screen on the wife's XL seems to have died. Everything else works, i can use adb and fastboot and pull files from the sdcard
Screen doesn't even work in hboot/fastboot
any ideas guys? how could I do a full factory reset from adb/fastboot (obviously I cant see anything on the screen to navigate menu's etc)
If it dosent work in bootloader, a factory reset will not help, as it has no effect on bootloader. It's going to need sending back for repair.

Weird phone just started working again on its own! If it happens again I think it'll have to go in for repair. Problem is that if I send it in while it's working knowing HTC they will just say no fault found :-\

It might be a loose connection between mobo and screen. Just try not to throw it about too much, see if that helps

This sounds exactly like the problem I had on my Incredible S, it would be fine, then the screen would just turn off, if you took the battery out and turned it back on again you could hear the sound, the lights came on and the vibration worked, then it'd be fine again. In the end I had to knock the top of the screen and it would work again.. Until one day I knocked it too hard and lost my temper.

Sounds exactly the same apart from the knocking bit. I tried to revive it, and no joy. So I put it down and a couple of hours later the wife picked it up and it powered on and the screen was working again. Nothing to jolt a loose connection
Oh well, will just have to see how it goes

I'm having similar problems, I think. Mine started around two weeks ago. First symptom was screen took around 3-5 mins to turn on when I unlock my phone. Then I noticed rainbow lines, especially while charging. Eventually the issues got worse and I took it in for repair. Pulled my phone out last week while they take their sweet ass time to ship a replacement screen to the Philippines.
Workaround is to NEVER turn off the screen, and do a hard reset in case it does turn off.

Yesterday my phone's volume up stopped working so I googled to see if there was a fix. Some had suggested unticking fast start up and rebooting didn't work tried soft reset didn't work then later it just started working. So tried it again tonight and it's not working again, so does anyone else know if it's software or hardware or any suggestions of what to do thanks.

Think it might be hardware because if you shake it it normally starts working again dreading having to send off for repair been reading about some real horror story's .

How about you try the built in diagnostics: in dialer type *#*#3424#*#* then select "Button Test" and run it.

I guess if it fails the button press, then it's most likely a hardware fault, and not much you can do to fix it
It should still be under warranty so will take it back next week hopefully they can fix it but dreading handing it over incase it comes back in worse shape then when it went.

If anyone reads this from the UK what's the best way to send phone off for warranty repair through shop where i got it from phones4u or HTC UK or HTC international need some advice before it goes on it's journey for repair. Also time frames of how long it normally takes would be nice. Iam hoping they tell me to send it somewhere locally for repair but doubt it very much, had a Nokia years ago wich went to a local place for repair but don't think they do that now.

Hello everyone I have an HTC one 801n (European version) it's completely stock s-on and bootloader locked my problem is when I plug the earphones that comes with the device it's not detected it was working great and gave great sound quality the strange thing is that when I plugged them into another phone it works fine and when I plug another earphones into my HTC one it works fine too I've tried a factory reset but the problem is still there any solutions please ?

Suddenly my device didn't recognize the earphone that come with htc one (the earphone isn't broken because I test on another device it works) .. lately I use the connector.. but today I should push hard to the jack in the device for recognized that earphone is plugged..
I could use soundAbout app in the store but I feel the output quality in the earphone isn't nice (decreased bass etc.)
Should I claim the warranty ? And is there Anyone who had same issue?

I had a similar problem but when I breathe on the earphone's output it works just fine for a very long time.. for such a long time that I didn't have to do it again. But maybe it was luck.
Try to use a different earphone on your device and if there are the same/similar issues... claim warranty.
I already did cleaning the jack port but no luck..yep I would going to claim about this issue thx

Hi!
When I bought my HTC One, there was earplugs included. They worked perfectly well for a while, then I tried to root my phone and failed, it still worked for a while, but then they stopped working. I figured it had to be the updates, so yesterday I rooted my phone successfully to 4,4 with a custom rom, but earplugs still not working.
Have anyone else experienced this?

do other earplugs still work? i highly doubt rooting your phone would break your headphone jack
Yeah, other headsets and earplugs work with my phone, and the HTC earplugs work with other phones and computers

Has the warranty expired since I rooted it, it won't help to send it in to HTC?

so other headsets/earbuds work with your phone, the HTC earbuds work with other phones.
But HTC earbuds dont work in your phone?
that seems extremely odd. can't really help you. Im pretty sure warranty is voided now that youre rooted. Why not just get another headset. the stock ones blow i used it for 1 call and gave them to a coworker haha
I bought some, but someone stole them after the first week, and I don't want to spend another $100 on new ones

You don't have to spend $100. And if you want to return the phone just put it back to stock. No warranty issues. Most don't care if you give it to them on custom roms anyway.

Alright, I will try. In Norway, quality ear buds cost at least $100
