Hi there.
Excuse me if I'm posting in a new thread, but I couldn't find any reliable information about my issue.
I accidently bought a simlocked Xperia V. As far as I found out there is no way to unlock it by any mods, patches, rooting etc.
There's heaps of online services providing "the cheapest and best" unlock codes for any device. but is there anyone out there who really has any experience with any of them?
please move this post to another forum if neccessary!

Hi,
I'm looking for a safe web site to unlock my Xperia X1 from Rogers Canada.
There are a lot of them that look very suspicious, with some forums talking about them from users with only 1 post.
Anyways, thanks.
I have moved his over to the appropiate section and copied and pasted my question.
I am new to this forum and apologize for my noobness in advance as i wasn't sure either to post this here or in the Android Software and Hacking General section and i appreciate any comments as i understand i am new here and have contributed nothing to this forum. Here is my dilemma, i recently purchased a t mobile g1 from a friend about two weeks ago because i was interested in the android OS. Being in the UK it is locked to the T-mobile network which my existing sim is orange. I understand that there was a developers ROM that was released (codenamed holiday (adp 1.1)) which allows other networks to be used on the g1 e.g orange etc as its a developer version. I was wondering what compatible ROMS for the g1 (htc dream) that would allow me to use my orange sim. Again i really do appreciate nay comments and help i receive and understand i have not contributed to this community and it is highly rude to ask for something when given nothing.
Changing the ROM on your device will not unlock it so that you can use it on any network. You need to get an unlock code for your device. T-Mobile US will give these out to their subscribers but I don't know about your carier. If they don't you can get it online too. They will need your phone's IMEI to generate the code. Just put in the new SIM and it will prompt you for the code regardless of the ROM you have.
isnt there such a thing as a hardware unlock though if i use a custom rom?. I brought this phone from a friend so i doubt phoning t-mobile will help get me a code.
p.s. cheers for taking the time to comment
No, I'm fairly sure the only way to unlock this device is what I posted above.
i thought you just needed a t-mob sim to login and then you were free to choose after this whole rooting/flashing thing.
its already a long time ago, so i might confuse a lot and its only that what i think to know. nothing sure..
i wanted an android phone and my friend was saying i culd get his off him and i thought that be a perfect time to get into the android os and stuff, i wasnt ure if i coulld by rooting/flashing that id be able to use another network thats why i wondered if i flashed it to a deveopler rom the adp1 one i could us another sim, i will look into the method beav_35 put but im not sure on any reputable sites to trust to do this method.
Hey guys.
At the moment I'm trying to unlock a Samsung Galaxy S5830i for all networks. So I came across this thread and fought with some minor problems, which I solved after looking through the forum. Now I can't find anything similar to the Hex-String in the bml5.img, which should show me the code to unlock the phone.
Now my question: Is it still possible to unlock the S5830i by myself?
After reading the comments, where people with different phones were successfull, I want to ask, because nobody wrote about the "i"-version of the phone. And before I spend hours in searching for an way to unlock it again I want to know, if it is worth the effort.
If you need any more information, feel free to ask.
Greetings, Matt
hello guys,
i'm new here and on android phones so i'm writing to all of you to help me. after many years with iphones i decided to take an android phone in my hands. before some days i bought a used Xperia T locked to T-mobile UK. i checked it and i found out that is LOCKED, all numbers in service menu are zero-0. what do you thing that i must do? what are the solutions to unlock my phone?
Read the all in one thread.
Then tell us, do you want to SIM unlock, if you do then that is a paid for service not available on xda, or do you want to unlock the bootloader in order to root the phone (jail break) if so Read the all in one thread for instructions.
Its the first thread in the Q And A section, just where this post should be.
Edit
Why have you made two threads for this question?
Please don't answer here, because this is the general section and question and answers should be in the question and answer section, in your other thread you started

Just remember
there are no such things as stupid questions, just stupid answers
every geek started as a noob
maybe you can find some answers here in these threads

Oh, I disagree. Questions in the abstract are nearly always good. The implementation of seeking an answer to the question - for example, starting a new thread to ask something on a forum with multiple threads already covering that topic, to say nothing of the rest of the web - can certainly be quite the opposite of valuable.
Also: I think that when a "noob" asks a question on which there are many answers on various forum sites and network, if you just answer it directly, you are actually misinformed. It is much better to make him see, so friendly, you should get some. Sure you will find not only what you wanted at that time if not many other useful things ...
