According to the thread on the Official Sony Support Community by Lemon and updated by me, Here a thread trying to list all troubles on the 4.2.2 Official Update.
If you're using a custom ROM do not list your problem here because that can be specifically a problem on your ROM.
Gracenote Update
I had approxamitely 3200 songs in my library. I attempted to update the artwork and music info using the integrated 'Download music info' option (powered by Gracenote). This repeatedly fails and crashes, and somehow managed to wipe approximitely 40 artists from my library of 150 artists. I now only have 108 artists, and have lost a lot of music, which I had paid for or ripped from CDs. I now have to do rip these all over again, and I've also wasted a considerable amount of money on MP3s which have now been wiped by shoddy software!!! I just tried to update some more files, just this moment, and while it managed to update beyond 82/800 tracks, it then failed and gave me a 'Network Error' and advised that 2 tracks had been updated - despite that it had already attempted to update more than 82 tracks!!! It's massively buggy. Not going to use it anymore in fear that it wipes more of my library.
Walkman App
Sometimes shows '-1' artists in library. When tapping into the Artist list and coming back out again, this updates and shows the correct number of artists. Why would it EVER show that I have '-1' artists in my library?!?
Android Become Slow
I've had it after the update, if you feel that your android is very slow since the update, just go to the settings, select applications and "desactivate" some useless app that eats memory, be carefull what you're desactivating, you don't need to be rooted for doing that, that helped in my case.
Earpods/Headphones Compatibility
My previous handset was the 2011 'flagship' Xperia Arc. The stock headphones which came with this handset are of a much better build quality (and tangle a lot less easily) than the stock headphones which came with the Xperia Z. However, upon connecting the Xperia Arc headphones to the Xperia Z, I get a message saying 'Headset not supported. Use another headset or visit the Sony Mobile support site for more information'.
Many earpods/headphone seems to not be supported anymore under this update, Sony needs to fix that quickly that's really annoying.

MBS-100
Everytime I connect over Bluetooth to my MBS-100 (first generation) my WiFi crashes after about 4 minutes. Every time. This does NOT happen with my MBS-200. Seems Sony haven't put enough effort in testing support for their older devices/products, this is clearly also the case above with the stock Xperia Arc headphones.
SD Card bug surfacing
The Sony Xperia Z is suffering from a persistent hardware failure, which is inserted SD cards unusable. Most of time we need to reformat/restore it and in worst cases the SDCard is dead and you need to buy a new one.
I have this as well that asks me many times to check and verify my SDCARD when i use the MSC connection, if i don't do it i can't copy files on it.
XDA thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2352245
Photo Album uploading with Facebook for Xperia
Tried uploading 31 pictures using the integrated share to Facebook for Xperia feature last night, on a FAST connection (Download Speed: 44.9MBPS / Upload Speed: 7.4MBPS) - 1 picture uploaded, service failed. Tried again, 2 pictures uploaded, service failed. Tried again, notification said 'Uploading pictures for about 18 minutes, before timing out and failing without uploading any pictures. Any pictures that did upload, did not upload in order either. After repeatedly attempting this about 30/40 times, I managed to upload about 17 of the 31 pictures, and had to connect by USB in order to do the rest. Seems like this feature was slapped on without any REAL testing by Sony.
Lockscreen Bypass
It is possible to bypass the lockscreen by typing '*#*#7378423#*#*' and doing an NFC test in the Service Tests menu (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLq1gxIt5YQ) - this renders the handset COMPLETELY UNSECURE.

Socialife
Never updates automatically. Sometimes updates manually. Sometimes doesn't. Just tested manually refreshing this moment, today being March 26th, and nothing is showing beyond the afternoon of March 25th.
Stamina Mode / Battery Life
When first experiencing issues with my handset, a Repair was advised by support staff on the forum here, and official Sony Customer Support Staff. Following this repair, by battery life at 100% showed 4 DAYS AND 12 HOURS. A week later, on 100%, my battery life dropped to 2 DAYS AND 8 HOURS. Another week later, on 100%, my battery life is now showing 1 DAY AND 1 HOUR. All of these figures are with Stamina mode turned on. I haven't added anything to the handset to affect performance, it's simply degrading of it's own accord. Which makes me wonder why the support staff repeatedly assure us on these forums that 'the battery life will improve after a few charging cycles' - this is not the case, and there is CLEARLY a Power Management issue, which needs to be resolved.
LED Notification
Fortunately, I am not experiencing the LED issue that others have been. But it should be listed as others have been experiencing it.
Sleep of Death
Fortunately, I am not experiencing this issue. But it should be listed as others have been experiencing it, special mention for people who hard-bricked their phone, do not include that problem.
WiFi Signal Issues
Fortunately again, I am not experiencing any major WiFi issues. However, when uploading photos using Facebook for Xperia last night, it knocked off my WiFi twice for no reason. And I've also documented my WiFi issues in combination with Bluetooth to MBS-100 above.
Accessories
The 2011 flagship Xperia Arc came with quality headphones, a charger, and a mini-HDMI to HDMI cable for outputting to HDTVs. The 2013 flagship Xperia Z came with cheaper headphones, a charger and NO cable for outputting to my HDTV. I expected this to be included in the package, given the lofty pricetag, but now I realise I must go and buy an 'MHL Cable' - something I didn't even know existed until after I purchased the device. Thank you for not including this cable Sony.
If anyone has any further legitimate bugs/issues to add to the list above, let me know and I'll keep the OP updated.
If you know a fix i'll add a green comment.

Hi.
I'm on .423 and I don't seem to have the lockscreen bug.
In fact, I cannot dial any MMI codes using the emergency dialer.
On a side note, why is this tagged as [HELP THREAD]? There's already the help thread that I've started under stickies in the Q&A Section.

You're lucky, anyway that's interesting, what kind of ROM do you use?
For the thread i've edited with [BUGS LIST] it was just for being easily found for people, if you have a better idea for my thread i'm open to any suggestions.

Stock ROM for C6603 from here.
[BUGS LIST] seems appropriate enough?
EDIT: There's also this SD Card bug surfacing. I have this problem too.
A bit short on patience right now, so haven't tried fixing it yet. You could add this to the list.
Thanks a lot, SDCard bug surfacing added to the list with critical severity.

I'm Lemon, and these bugs have nothing to do with 4.2.2
I posted this in March, about 10 day's after the handset was launched, listing all the issues I found in the original 4.1 firmware, it's been updated a few times since.
With 4.2.2 I've only noticed a weird support issue where the software completely wiped me sd card of its own accord. I've lost ****loads of stuff as a result. It's only happened once though.
Still noticing the Walkman skipping during playback...
Some Home screen stuttering, nothing out of the ordinary for Sony.
Otherwise, 4.2.2 is much improved.
how are the lack of accessories, notably a mhl cable part of the bugs/issues with 4.2.2 ?
I don't know how to describe it wxactly but since the update (2 days ago), my phone has became super slow.
On 4.1 it was great never experienced any lag.. but now it feels like I'm holding my tired old phone again..
It goes from opening apps, through unsmoothly scrolling and floating around, to the lockscreen it self which can take about 3-8 seconds to show up image from black after pressinv power button to wake him up..
Also for unlocking, sliding up to move from lock screen to home screen can be laggy, stucky, and takes time...
Furthermore, WiFi signal (or atleast the icon showing) is poor and barely reaching my router when I'm 3 meters away..
As for not getting anything exciting from the update, or any changes, cool features from stock 4.2 (hmm som1 said notification toggles?) , I'm pretty disappointed, I would return back if that possible

Yep i've seen many people complaigning about that too, btw you can disable some useless app on settings => applications, select one and choose "desactivate" that's helepd so much for me.
what in the world.. and .423 just came to my phone updates and it's now stuck in the notification bar but seeing all these makes me doesn't want to update it anymore ._.
From last night i am facing a problem where when I connect my headset (samsung) to my xperia z1 it displays the error *Headset not supported. Use another headset or visit the Sony Mobile support site for more information.*
I used to use this headset everyday but unfortunately it had stopped working.
Further, if i use any other headset, it displays the same message.
I have not updated my phone nor have i installed any mod or app.
Can anyone tell me the fix please?
Thank you!!
Has anyone found a solution of new firmware (custom or stock)
that fixes this issue where you have no idea of your battery
level and your battery can be ruined because it drains too far?
Can anyone confirm if SONY is aware of this major problem?
How do you use your device with this issue? Any tricks you use
to live with it?
Can anyone confirm when they upgrade to firmware 4.2.2
ie: 10.3.1.A.0.244 or 10.3.A.0.423
they have killed their battery completely?
(ie: it won't take a charge anymore and the phone is ruined?)
> It happens when your battery is 20-35% and u do a battery reset (power+volup)
SO, as long as you don't do this, you don't get the bug?
-Why are you performing this action anyhow?
-Why not just hold the power button and restart your device that way if needed?
Can anyone confirm if a regular reboot (using either the reboot command from terminal or by using an app to reboot) also triggers the bug?
> Installing the 4.1.2 binary does NOT fix the issue;
What if you roll back to stock 4.1.2, or you are on 4.1.2?
Is the bug for sure not there?
Is the bug just on all versions so far of stock and custom 4.2.2?
Is the bug on 4.3?
Does the bug cause the device to think there is more charge than
the battery actually has, thus draining it too low and killing it?
What is the best way to fix the bug once it occurs and is
there any way to tell if the bug is occurring? Someone mentioned
charging it all night is the only way you know you are at 100%?
What devices is the Battery BUG on besides SONY XPERIA Z (ie: model C6602)?
So, to live with this bug, never reset your device, and if you do,
do it before you put it on your charger for a very long time?
Btw, how long would it need to be on the charger worst case?
Battery bug is most likely due to battery stats. Once they are cleared/ reset then the bug goes away. See if u can reset them in cwm or twrp. It has nothing to do with the hardware. I always flash roms on full battery and never had that bug.
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Wiping battery stats does nothing.

Sent from my C6603 using xda premium
Maybe I didn't got the bug because last time I had to was about a month ago, when flashing new rom. Well I did flashed some mods as well. Maybe reset stats while on 100% and flash new rom.
Sent from my C6603 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
LOL. Resetting stats does nothing! It deletes the batterystats.bin file. That file is deleted every time your phone is charged anyway and doesn't have any effect on the battery percentage that is displayed.
Please read the article I linked you to earlier.

I never had the battery bug!
I've a C6602 and from the original 4.1.2 and the following updates (now the 4.2.2 [0.244]) always the battery was correct!
I've also used all the above-mentioned method of reboot...
because of some games (specially Let's make pottery) and reboot to CWM or normal Reboot with Powerwidget never made the bug!
hope that helps!
The bug is fixed on the latest 244 update.
Hi.
I never had this battery bug on my XZ.
Me too, I don't have this bug before and after 4.2.2
I've had this bug for a long time, but once i've flashed cm 10.2 it's gone.

MAJOR BUG Check
Odd. Some people have this MAJOR BUG and some do not??!?!
I will upgrade my UNITED STATES phone by flashing an .FTF.
I'll see if I get this BUG or not. Anyone have a link to
C6602_10.3.1.A.0.244 .FTF for UNITED STATES that doesn't
think they have this bug?
> u shud calibrate the battery in order to get exact output.
Anyone know how to do this?
emrause- you say you don't have the bug on 0.244.
Did you flash your .ftf and which one did you flash?
Are you on stock rom? What is your region?
sebastianlow-
I have read several posts that the bug is still there in the 0.244 thread.
Is it gone for you and did you flash the .FTF? Which one?
> It seems that Spanish FW is free from this bug.
I thought if we flash the .244 .FTF there is no difference in regions!?
Can we safely flash it to our United States phone?
Anyone have a link to it? Will anything change to Spanish?
Does anyone know where to get the latest good .244 .FTF
10.3.1.A.0.244 that we can flash to our United States phone?
I was going to use C6602_10.3.1.A.0.244_Generic India.
Is this one not good and Spanish one is?! Will it change
our keyboard or language or radio stuff incorrectly?
kingvortex- Do you have the bug? Which firmware are you using and did you flash a .FTF?
Did you roll back to 4.1.2 or are you living with the bug?
As long as we don't reset the phone around 20-35% with a battery reset (power+volup)
are we ok? Also if we do reset, just put it on the charger for a long time?
Anyone know how long it takes to fully charge a SONY XPERIA Z roughly before it
switches to trickle charge on the standard US plug adapter?
Anyone have quick answers to any of these or any input on this battery bug?
I'd like to flash the latest to my phone. I have a United States Phone.
Is flashing an FTF a good way to update? What method and
which .FTF should I use? Does the region matter? Anybody have any ideas or links?
Anyone know if the New firmware: 10.3.1.A.1.10 addresses this BATTERY BUG
or is this MAJOR BUG still there?
TIA
its a sony kernel level bug, no solution unless you use a custom kernel which is NOT based on sony source, unfortunately, we have no such kernel at this moment
My xz has battery level bug with 4.2.2 423 and 244 versions. it had not any bug when 253.
Does 10.3.1.A.1.10 fix it possibly?
Do they list frmwares and what is in them anywhere? (ie what fixed)
Also, how do you live with this bug? ie- what do you do so your battery doesn't get ruined and so
you know when your phone is running low if the battery indication is not reliable?
Is the trick to this bug to never reboot your phone during the day and if you do, always charge it
for a long time (ie 100% plus trickle charge) and then the battery is always correct?
This is a pretty major bug. Does SONY know about it?
kkd28- Are you going to roll back to another firmware which does not have the bug?
Do you never reset your device so the bug isn't much of a problem for you?
Anyone else roll back because this battery bug is so bad?
Anyone suffering from this bug can kindly post here a few debug info about the battery?
Those relevant files are on this folder: /sys/devices/platform/msm_ssbi.0/pm8921-core/pm8921-charger/power_supply/battery
The charge_full, charge_now, voltage_now and capacity are the relevant ones. The the last one should be the same number as the capacity listed on the Android user interface, but it wouldn't be true if it is a ROM issue rather than a kernel one.
It is possible to analyze the health of the battery with those numbers. There is also a health file on that folder, whose content should be "Good" otherwise you are on a bad shape.
It should be noted that Android will use the current voltage, not the current charge, to decide when to turn off or stop charging a battery. Also it should be noted that as long as the battery is healthy, there is no risk ruining it even with a bug on Android. Those batteries have a swicth which will be activated in case of low voltage and it will suspend the power supply.
There is no risk in ruining your battery except you are draining it too quickly.
It would be even better if one could post the content of those files right before and after the bug happening.
Regards,
Is anyone else suffering from audio stutter since the update to 4.3 and if so has anyone found a solution? I've read about lots of issues with other devices and music stutter on 4.3 but can't find anything on the Xperia Z.
I'm running the Generic UK rooted update from the Android Dev section, and I have narrowed the stutter down to when the device is sleeping.
At first I had my headphones (MDR-1RBT) on bluetooth and assumed it was that, but after connecting them with the wire the issue continued. Next I switched to Walkman player instead of the Google Music one (all music on both apps is local, on the SD card, not streamed).
The issue still continued, however, every time I wake the device the stuttering stops. I ran CPU spy to see what is going on and noticed my device has never entered deep sleep since the update (is anyone else seeing this also?)
One suggestion was that Wifi optimisation could be the issue, I turned that off, but it didn't help, and even turning wifi off doesn't seem to help, but wifi on seems to make it worse I'd say.
It's driving me insane and I use my phone/headphones to listen to music several hours a day and can't deal with the stutter, I'll have to go back to 4.2.2 unless I find a solution.

Yep. Same problem here.

Same problem as well, except it does not stop when I wake the device - the stutter still continues no matter what. I'm using the default Walkman app as well as have tried other music apps, but same problem throughout
no issues with poweramp. try apollo or some other player (not walkman or play music) and see if that helps.
No stutter here with walkman app.
But if I run the Walkman app, the accu usage shows that Mediaserver sucks my Battery,

Same here and for @AngelBob
It's annoying and I've not been able to find a solution to it yet...
I went back to 4.2.2, so i have one question: can someone test if stuttering are not present using PowerAmp?
Thanks all

I believe it's kernel related. We had this exact issue in the past and Sony fixed with am update.
CM builds are also suffering audio 'stutters' so I think it's something we're going to have to live with until Sony push a new kernel/libs

You're right, after investigation, I can say with some certainty that the cause is the new bluetooth stack Google switched to in 4.3. I tried modifying some of the bluetooth configs but it made no difference. It'll need a fix to those libs and perhaps a kernel update as you say.
I don't know if it's been fixed in 4.4 yet, since I no longer own any nexus devices, but I wouldn't count on us getting the fix any time soon unless Sony decide to resolve it themselves.

You're right, I tested wired and it's the same problem.
In this case, I'm going to put the issue down to kernel and power save/sleep mode. I switched straight back to 4.2.2. I really like the new UI, but I can wait, hopefully 4.4 fixes it. I wouldn't count on a maintenance release from Sony before 4.4
I had this problem on 4.2.2 ROMs when I had Wi-Fi on. I think it was probably due to media server scanning for other devices over Wi-Fi network. It was going crazy when I was at uni as there were so many devices around me. Had to keep my wi-fi disabled just to listen to music.
You guys getting the same issue?

Unfortunately not, even worth wifi disabled it still happens, makes no difference.
It seems to be kernel related, perhaps something to do with cpu states or such because it only happens for me in sleep mode, it also happens when apps install so could be I/O related.
I'm starting to think sony rushed the Z 4.3 update, the T leak does not suffer this bug and it also has transparent nav bar by default!

Can we use bluetooth/a2dp libraries from other devices or versions of Android?
For example can we put Xperia Z 4.2.2 bluetooth files into the Xperia Z 4.3 firmware?
Thanks
On 4.3 Drummerjeds stock pre-rooted and deodexed rom with PXA23 I don't get any stutter when streaming. Is it only a problem with music stored on the device? (Doesn't appear to be an issue either with music from Google Play music stored on my external card). Just wonder if it could be related to my having the kernel tweaks on Power Guard Pro running in learning mode, if it's related to a problem in sleep mode?
Just want to inform you guys that I have no stutter whatsoever with walkman but I'm on the official C6602 4.3 ROM, but the screen sometimes flickers in chrome, the most annoying bug so far

I only use Streaming from Play Music, issue still appears,
Though I am leaning to the kernel going to sleep causing the issue,
As the title suggests, how is your experience with the latest firmware? What have been improved. Which are the downsides. At the end of the Day, is it worth updating, or better wait?
TL;DR
Update definitely recommended. No camera issues anymore, faster operating speed, only sporadic misfunction of SD card. Fixed by reinserting it/restart.
I'll definitely recommend anyone to update, so far I'm genuinely happy with the update. No more annoying camera failures, much faster operating speed and Android 5 sweetness. It always blows my mind how pressing the camera button actually works as a shortcut for opening the camera now, takes about 1 sec to open and snap! Picture taken. Only problem I've encountered so far is that sometimes the OS somehow loses write privileges for the SD card, leading to apps like play music not to work properly, dunno how apps that are saved on the SD card react to this, weirdly, file managers like total Commander can still read the card but no more write privileges. Solution is to eject SD card and putting it back in, a restart works, too. I'll have to look further into that bug tho.

That was the first thing I have make after flashing...
I have Lollipop for over a week now. Installed a pre rooted firmware to get 120 fps, 4K, face in camera, smart call handling, smart backlight and all the goodies. Before installing any of these, I wiped all caches. The battery drainage is greater, at least for me, now. Phone isn't lagging at all. Camera is indeed fast. My main issue is the battery life that has worsened.
Apart from that I would say go on and update.

This is the thread I used. It requires a rooted kitkat rom.
After that check for 120 fps and 4k for Z1 lollipop and the other stuff.
I think it's all located in Xperia Z1 themes and apps.
Follow the instructions in each thread and everything should go fine.
Done everything in one take with no bricks or bootloops whatsoever.
What about overheating? Has this been controlled. Also, what do you think about the camera, especialy in low light conditions? Have been improved?

The low light camera is the same to me
For the over heating, the only way I "fixed" it was to use pimp my z1 app, set GPU governor to power save. It will seldom overheat while playing games

Bluetooth finally fixed. No more stuttering on Aptt-X devices, no more having to turn Bluetooth off and on again when connecting headphones. :good:

If am correct, the powersave governor, locks the processor to its lowest clock speed. So have you noticed any impact on framerates??
Xperia z1 c6906 LOLLIPOP Battery Drain
I have updated my Xperia z1 C6906 to android 5.0 rooted however the battery life has worsened. Android OS is using around 50-55% of the battery with "Mobile Radio Active" using the battery most of the time for each of the apps. Is there a solution for this since battery life is more important to me rather than being on lollipop.

My phone is so slow after the LP update thats annoying. For example, when I browse in Chrome for 10 minutes and want to go back Home, the icons are empty and it starts reuploading them after 1-2 seconds. When I want to record the screen to show it, then this problem magically goes away...
And sometimes the apps are freezing (e.g.: VLC, Walkman, Facebook, ...)
I have another issue: sometimes I get only mono sound through headphones, and I can only solve this when I pull it out and push it again in the jack.
Whats going on? Has somebody else these strange things?
Build nr is .726
Already reported by several users on this forum, with several other users (including myself) very surprised - seeing nothing of the sort. By the reports, seems as if it's up to your luck, or depending on some system apps/settings/usage. However, the same reports conclude it as solved in the next Lollipop update version.
Try the new update! Fixed my performance and battery life

exactly the same problem have i too. (tried everything) compared to xperia z3 compact tablet - no such big problems, but there is 3gb ram and it use my gf, so not so many app installed.
The re-uploading of the icons i can reproduce with the developer menu when i click in the section of applications - don't store applications - after that every-time when you close all aps in tab menu of the phone - reloading of icons appear.....
so it must be a software problem - because on 4.4 had newer problems and the phone was perfect without lags - hopefully will Sony make this better in next update - it is for my a big issue
before i used htc one max htc one m8 and such things never happened .....
new update yesterday it happened again . .. what i saw is that the phone killed by itself apps and the ram raised. So it is some process of the phone and the system. But like i told never before happened it in 4.4 kitkat (was better) but had no sd card support so have to wait on new update....
NEW STATUS - I TRIED TO INSTALL https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.thetonyp.fixlollipopmemoryleak
fix lollipop memory leak from google play...
it seems better after a week i can exactly tell you if it helped or not. But after a day i tried to reproduce the memory problems after browsing web but the re-uploading of icons have disappeared ... so maybe it is a solution...
So after 4 days i had 2 times the lag, so IT helped but not pernamently.
How is Lollipop these days? I rolled back to KitKat and do not have a single complaint about it. I love it. Is Lollipop any better than a few months ago?

i would go back if there was the sdcard support.... but the lags pi** me ... so 1 - 2x a day i see how after the touch of the homebutton i see just a clear screen and after that everything shows again after 1 - 2 seconds - and the "shortcut icons" reupload ...
