Hi all,
sorry if this question has been asked before but i dont find any thread or solution in google.
Is it possible to delete apps directly from the drawer (and/or homescreen) by e.g. holding them and sliding them over a "uninstall" icon as its possible in nova launcher etc.?
Recently I'm using Sense 5.5 with ARHD 31.0 but also mike1986's Sense-Toolbox doesnt offer any solution.
Thanks for tipps and help!
That option is in Sense 5.5. When you drag an app to the top of the screen, Create shortcut on left, uninstall on right.

oh man ... of course! sorry and thanks.
Is it also possible to go directly into the App-Info? I red its better to delete data in App-Info before finaly uninstalling an app.

Not with Sense. You have to swipe down notification bar, select "setting" and then "applications"

i cleared off my music icon off my home screen and accidentally removed them from my app drawer... the only way i can access my music now is through settings> applications .... does anyone know how i can get the music icon back onto my apps drawer? thanks
Huh? I didn't think you could "delete" an icon from the app drawer. Are you using some kind of Home replacement application?
are you using aluncher ?

we can't , he has to be using the aluncher !!!!!!
I'm guessing that you've got advanced launcher
i haven't got it in front of me at the moment as I'm running stock Cyan 4.2.5, so i can't remeber the exact labels, but go to menu > extended and you should be able to resore the drawer icons from there.
Hey again,
I was wondering if it was possible to actually change that bloody app drawer so that it showed all the apps alphabetically in "one" group instead of splitting them up into two groups, with the downloaded apps one sorting after time downloaded and not alphabetically
In some hands on videos ive seen when youve got the app drawer open you hit the menu button (little pop up capacitive one) then select display options.
I haven't got that display option. I got a load of other stuff, but not the "Display Options" one.
Hmm is there a "more options" option?

You could install Launcher Pro. It will not only replace the launcher, but also the app drawer.

Good to know. Installing LauncherPro was actually one of my plans. I just wasnt sure if it also replaced the apps drawer. Because on my HTC Desire the apps drawer looks 100% the same whether I use Sense Launcher or Launcher Pro's. So I didn't think it actually made any difference
Or use ADWLauncher or ADWLauncherEX..

I never actually tried any of those. I just grabbed LauncherPro for my Desire because it just happened to pop up on market and I have just stuck to using that. But whats good/special about those 2 others?
If your using LauncherPro try the experimental 3d drawer! its a really cool effect!
I guess it should, but maybe one of those who got their phones already can confirm this.

Yes, it does remove blinkfeed. Tested with apex launcher.
It will still be a background process, will it not? Even though its not visible. Like sense Rosie/prism itself

If you do not delete Prism.apk yes but it won't be active, just an apk doing nothing

Torxx, you wouldn't happen to know a way we can have a alternative launcher running and keep blink feed?
I like it but I want my old Nova Launcher back
Alternatively, If I have to make do (which I expect I will have to lol) How can I change the Icons on the home screen Dock?
Or am I just being as thick as a plank??....
Cheers
To rearrange the dock icons, open the app drawer and then drag the unwanted ones back into drawer. You might need to drag them to where they're supposed to go (i.e. I have my drawer sorted automatically and had to drag the camera to where it'd be in the drawer).
You can only have the 4 apps on there but if you remove any, you're free to put whatever you want in its place.

It would be active, continuously streaming content to its interface on the sense launcher
Best option would be to change launchers and then freeze Sense
Just un-check all the options/feeds leaving blinkfeed blank. This way it fetches nothing. Then run you new launcher.

Thanks for the tip but Ive figured that out. The issue Im having is, If I use a Icon changer, it drops a widget on the home screen that is essentially a shortcut to the app you pick.
Because its a widget, it wont let me move it to the dock at the bottom...
I know I could probably go hinting to try and change the pings manually, I just really cant be bothered as I know It wont be long before I flash another rom.
Any Ideas?
Freeze it in titanium if you don't want it.
Anyone know how to place an application shortcut like a whatsapp contact into the dock/launcher bar? I was able to do this in stock jelly bean, but can't seem to figure this out in sense 5.

always 2 ways to do this on Android;
press and hold (on home screen and move to dock / on icon from app drawer)
click setting and choose edit
:good:
The problem is that when long pressing shortcuts from the home screen, the dock disappears making it impossible to move the app shortcut into the dock.

I understand an app can be added to the dock from the drawer, but that's not what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to add a app shortcut (i.e. a direct contact) to the dock. For whatever reason, Sense treats these shortcuts like widgets, restricting them from being added to the dock. This is frustrating as I was able to do this in stock jelly bean.
You need to go to the app drawer and then pull the application you wanna replace from the dock to the drawer. Once you have done that you will have an empty space to add the app you want to add to the dock.

I hope they have a fix in the pipeline. I can't be the only person who uses this feature.
In android 4.2.1 , if you moved app to the bar at the bottom or directly on your homescreen, you MOVED IT from app drawer. Now in android version 4.2.2, you just CREATE A SHORTCUT, so apps in the bar at the bottom are duplicated with apps with the app drawer and same with the apps on home screen. Is there any possibility to switch it back like in android 4.2.1 ?

on 4.2.1 if you moved apps from the drawer , they disappeared in the drawer. Now they stay there and only shortcut is created. Its really annoying for me because all apps i have on home screen or in the bottom bar are duplicated also in App drawer and my layout in app drawer is now messed up because of this. I can live with that, but i liked the way in 4.2.1 better
HTC have changed it so you have both

What do you mean? Apps on both places or both options ( move/create shortcut) available?
Thread moved to proper subforum.

You can always hide the app in the drawer. Doesn't that work for you?

^ This.
Also I lol'd at this thread a little bit. Not because OP's gripe isn't legitimate, mind you, but because there were scores of threads when the HTC One first came out complaining about the app disappearing from the drawer when it was put on the dock. I found the irony chuckle worthy.

Ehm, if you hide app in the drawer, you hide also the shortcuts of the app

Personally, i like this on my Nexus 7 , but on HTC One, where you can switch to "custom" in app drawer and have folders there , it seems weird to have same folder in app drawer and also in the dock. But i'll just have to live with that.

Sorry I didn't remember that as I use Nova Launcher where you can hide them and still have the shortcuts.
Why don't you gather these duplicate icons in a folder then ? They will take less of your space.

Yeah, already tried that. But folders has limited capacity so i would need a number of folders, which is quite contraproductive.
Nevermind, it looks like i'll have to deal with this as i dont want to create any other folders or use any other launcher.
Just wanted to know, if there is any possibility how get switch this to the 4.2.1 behaviour.
