Hi guys, I need your help. I have an HTC One from Bell Mobility. I have done the full GPE conversion on it but have since got a Nexus 5 so I want to sell the One but need to get it back to a Sense ROM that will get OTA's. Whether it be Bell or Dev Edition or International. But I can't get an RUU to install. Right now the phone is GPE 4.3 not rooted with custom recovery. It was on stock recovery when I was trying to install the Dev Edition RUU but I got error 155. So I relocked the bootloader and tried again and again I got error 155.
What can I do to get a stock RUU to install?
Thanks
Mate, flash a firmware like 3.62 or 2.24, use the guru reset and after relock all
Thanks for replying, forgive me I don't know some of what you are referring to. What is the guru reset?
I see what you are referring to now, thank you. Had no idea this existed.
I'll give it a try.
Do you know which of the M7's listed are for the International version? What is the difference between a 2.24 ROM and 3.62?
Sorry for all the questions.

2.24 is android 4.2.2, 3.62 is android 4.3.
So, both are for International version and remember to flash a firmware with the same version of rom

Again thanks for the help, what do you mean by this last part? Flash 3.62 firmware to get 4.3?

Hi All,
I'm new to the HTC World, coming from a Note II prior to this.
I like messing with custom roms and HTC is definitly a little more work than what I had been doing before with Nexus Devices or the Note II
So Far,
I've S-Off'ed (Revone), Flashed CWM Touch, Unlocked Bootloader.
I'm on the Stock 4.1.2 Rogers Rom and Firmware (Canada - 4.2.2 not here yet for Rogers)
What I want to do
1) Update firmware to 4.2.2 that works with my phone
2) Install Android Revolution 4.2.2 Rom
Questions
1) Do I need to SuperCID? What advantage is there?
2) What firmware do I flash? I assume it needs to be custom, but which file do I need for my Particular phone? Anything I need to do in particular? Delete any specifc files beforehand? (like hboot? I'm on 1.44) Any specific radio to flash?
Do I flash firmware, followed immediately by flashing the rom?
Thanks - I'm getting almost there to trying some 4.2.2 Roms.

Thanks. I'm going to give it a try tonight.
What do you recommend for Hboot, keep 1.44 or go to 1.54? I dont think I'll lose revone right? Any advantage of going to 1.54?
Anyone with recommendations for Radios for Rogers Canada? (or Bell which is actually what provider I'm on, same bands)
I'm SuperCID now

no you wont lose revone...
i have 1.54 but i just like have everything fresh and up to date...
i heard that hboot 1.54 is "nothing special" even few users did NOT recommend 1.54...
but i did not notice anything wrong with that...
speaking about FW i recommend 2.24 ... home and back buttons are "SPECIAL" with that
so good luck its really easy...i had no idea how to do that but after i read everything (link in answer 2) was piece of cake

I would recommend using the HTC__001 CID, not 1111111, as this can sometimes cause issues and can result in bricks if you use the wrong firmware.
As for HBOOT, this will be updated automatically when you flash the latest 4.2.2 firmware. There aren't any benefits but no issues either
With radio, latest is usually best. Some people reported battery issues but test it

You Can update Hboot boot via a firmware update (which I recommend if you are still on the original 4.12 firmware, as there have been some touch driver updates that really helped the capacitive buttons, look here for a great guide and firmware packages: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2316726 ), but you don't Have to update Hboot to flash Viper 2.1, it will work fine either way

It would be a good idea to update your firmware/Hboot to the 2.24 (4.22) version, so it matches the rom and you get the touch fixes I talked about. It's a good idea, but you do not have to, it's up to you. Hboot will change to 1.54, but you will stay S-off, no worries. Read that thread I linked, and I recommend this firmware https://mega.co.nz/#!nZoVXKpD!Iki5KkvxxhL9jZgJkegv_iHLbp0eHQALxAz5Nc50_rc from that thread if that's what you want to do. If that's the route you go, first update the firmware/Hboot, then flash the rom, then any custom kernels if desired

Yes! It is fine, and your phone will work better with the new touch drivers. I am not sure what the CID of the Developer's edition is, you might want to check that. Will definitely flash if Super CID (fastboot oem writecid 11111111), worked for me.
Look, before you flash firmware, you better read that guide I linked you to at the very least, I mean it. This is pretty routine, non-scary stuff, but you are S-off, and that means something. Read the thread, make sure you understand what you're doing, and I'm here to help. But I'm not trying to or going to convince you to do anything, read and decide for yourself, ok? I'm telling you it will work, but you have to decide and be comfortable

You don't "need" to update Hboot at all, but it will update to 1.54 with the firmware update. In my opinion, you " want" to update the firmware to: get the new, much improved touch drivers, be on the same firmware as your rom (ViperOne 2.1), and get whatever other updates are in the new firmware

ViperOne will run just fine on the stock US Dev Ed firmware!
You do not NEED to upgrade the firmware, unless you want the updated touch screen drivers.

The H-Boot has nothing to do with the touch screen.
The touch screen drivers were updated in the 2.17 and 2.24 firmware release.
Many people feel that the touch screen is more responsive with the updated drivers/firmware.
You do not NEED to update the firmware to run a 4.2.2 ROM. It will run fine on the older firmware.
I ran ViperOne on the older firmware up until very recently. No problems.

Oksagi,
I told you yesterday, you don't Need to flash anything to run Viper, I thought that was clear, your Hboot is fine. If you Want to update your firmware, I gave you links to a very good guide, and to the firmware you should use, IF YOU WANT. Again, you are fine on your Hboot, go ahead and flash Viper, I think you will love it, I do. I think updating firmware may be too much for you at this point. Good luck sir....
Sorry For my newbie-ness but what advantages has S-OFF and what can i do with it ?
So I'm a bit lost of the firmware and updating. I've got AT&T One and I flashed a signed firmware for a Google Edition version 3.06.1700.10 a while ago and it's been fine. I'd like to S-OFF my phone though. Can I revert to stock and do an OTA update or am I just screwed now?

Well I'm not S-OFF and I'm stuck to signed firmwares and I don't know of any newer signed versions than what I'm on.
Can anyone help me figure out if I can update my firmware or how I can achieve S-OFF with where I'm at now?
Maybe this info will help. This phone was not a Google Edition One. My modelid and CID matched a Google Edition firmware so I flashed. I'd like to get back to the X.XX.401.XX firmware so I can S-OFF. Can someone please help me with this.

I do get that.
So I got my AT&T HTC ONE (Non Google Edition). Rooted and unlocked it and flashed ROMsThen I decided I wanted to update my firmware, mind you I'm S-ON. I Flashed a Google Edition firmware x.xx.1700.x. It proceeded to change my CID and modelid #'s to, modelid: PN0712000 and cidnum: CWS__001.
So here I am stuck. I'm not sure if there is anyway back to the WWE (x.xx.401.x) editions of firmware or not or if there is a way I can achieve S-OFF so I can flash any firmware.
I have a wwe htc_001 2.24.401.8 and would like to update my firmware if I use a 4.3 base firmware latest would it work if I wanted to go back to a 4.2.2 android version etc?

Hello guys, I tried the new GPE 4.4 rom flashing the RUU, and I am pretty disappointed on this update...so I decided to return back to sense...
1) A 4.3 sense 5.5 RUU zip would be great, I searched for it but I can't find nothing, anyone?
2) OR...what if I flash a sense rom on top of the 3.58 GPE firmware? is this correct to do? have I got to flash the radio?
3) OR, again...if there is no RUU and I can't flash a sense rom with radio on KK fw, I think I have to flash 3.62 fw with radio and a rom...no?
I like clean things, because of this I ask for a RUU, is better wipe everything and clean flash...all in one and ready to go...thanks in advance!
Cheers

The firmware and radio is mainly for stability issues and some optimizations. if your device is s-OFF you can flash new roms doesn't matter if they are sense 5.5 or aosp or gpe editions. If you want to return back to 3.64 fw hboot 1.55 you can find that in the RUU mega thread in the HTC One Android sticky section. when flashing the RUU make sure you have super CID or flash the correct versions or else it will not let you force flash it.
If you convert to Developer Edition (3.22.1540.1), you will have 4.3 and Sense 5, but 4.4 with Sense 5.5 will be released as an OTA update in a few days. I'm sure OP knows better than to use superCID. It will prevent you from receiving OTA updates. Always use the proper CID for the firmware you're using (unless it's a custom ROM or something that you wouldn't want to do an OTA on). If you convert to the International version (3.62.401.1), you will have 4.3 with Sense 5.5, but be waiting until January for the Android 4.4 update. There's no real difference between the two. They're both world-wide variants, but the Developer Edition gets updated well before any others.
For Dev Edition, change CID to BS_US001
For International, change CID to HTC__001
For Dev Edition, MID must be PN712000
For International, MID must be PN710000
To flash from GPE, you may need to downgrade your Bootloader first. It was a nightmare for me getting off of GPE until I figured that part out. I assume you're already S-Off. Sneakyghost provided 1.44 bootloader can be downloaded here http://d-h.st/qfc
Hi all, I´ve got the following problem. HTC One m7ul, OS Version 2.24.401.1, HBOOT 1.54.0000, Radio 4A.23.3263.28, S-ON, Unlocked, TWRP 2.6.3.3, Cyanogenmod 10.2.1.
What I wanted to do now is switch to a newer firmware, but I don´t now how to do that exactly.
What do I need to flash to get the most current OS (In my opinion this is 4.19.401.8), where I got two files from, one from here:
http://xda7.androidrevolution.nl/db_mirror/ROMs/HTC_One/Stock/Flash_recovery_4.19.401.8.rar (seems like recovery only)
and the other one is: http://xda7.androidrevolution.nl/db_mirror/Firmware/HTC/HTC_One/401/4.19.401.8.zip
Main issue I have is that LTE speed is max 8Mbit/sec... and though I´m S-ON I don´t know how to update the current firmware without bricking my phone...
Thanks in advance

In what order do I need to do what step? I was reading a lot but I´m unsure how this procedure can be done.
Going back to stock 2.24.401.1 (How can that be done since I don´t find any 2.24.401.1 RUU)
unlock again
S-off if possible
OTA to newest FW
flash recovery
flash ondroid Backup
Could that be the way?
