Hi all, I´ve got the following problem. HTC One m7ul, OS Version 2.24.401.1, HBOOT 1.54.0000, Radio 4A.23.3263.28, S-ON, Unlocked, TWRP 2.6.3.3, Cyanogenmod 10.2.1.
What I wanted to do now is switch to a newer firmware, but I don´t now how to do that exactly.
What do I need to flash to get the most current OS (In my opinion this is 4.19.401.8), where I got two files from, one from here:
http://xda7.androidrevolution.nl/db_mirror/ROMs/HTC_One/Stock/Flash_recovery_4.19.401.8.rar (seems like recovery only)
and the other one is: http://xda7.androidrevolution.nl/db_mirror/Firmware/HTC/HTC_One/401/4.19.401.8.zip
Main issue I have is that LTE speed is max 8Mbit/sec... and though I´m S-ON I don´t know how to update the current firmware without bricking my phone...
Thanks in advance

Thanks, but that´s why I was asking...
In what order do I need to do what step? I was reading a lot but I´m unsure how this procedure can be done.
Going back to stock 2.24.401.1 (How can that be done since I don´t find any 2.24.401.1 RUU)
unlock again
S-off if possible
OTA to newest FW
flash recovery
flash ondroid Backup
Could that be the way?
Thanks

Great, thanks a lot! As I´ve read this should bring me to FW 4.19.401.8 without extra flashing the FW.
Appreciate!

I was just going to flash ARHD 3.1 GE which is 4.3 based.
Currently i'm unlocked/s-off (thanks to revone) with hboot 1.44 and RUU 1.29.401.16.
Do I even have to update firmware or does 1.29 based fw work with 4.3 correctly?
Basically i'm confused with these firmware packages: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2182823
Is flashing a 2.24.401.12 based firmware going to update hboot too? Does this one break touch in recoveries too?
Why the custom firmwares based on 2.17.401.1 RUU and why aren't there 2.24.401.12 based custom firmwares?
Hopefully someone can answer at least some of my questions
Thanks

I want to keep hboot 1.44, so it's fairly a simple question whether the 2.24 based firmware updates hboot as well or not.
That is my main question.

To be honest, I would like the answer to this too.

Yes the firmware will update the hboot. It may also update your radio and other hidden partitions.
I would recommend having s-off if your looking to upgrade your firmware. If you don't s-off you have to find the firmware corresponding with your CID. Most of it the time you have to run a RUU to upgrade so back up. Lastly S-OFF only works on hboot 1.44 so if your looking to s-off in the past (assuming you haven't already) don't upgrade because there is no downgrade method yet.

Guys,
Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2316726
Read the guide, and flash the 3.06/2.17 combo file if you can (S-off helps). Will give you the great updated touch drivers, and the GE 3.06 firmware. Sneakyghost did an excellent job with this guide, it will really help you out!
And if i'm S-OFF and on 1.44 HBOOT. Does it worth me upgrading ? What will be the benefits of new firmware / hbott ?
Im already s-off on 1.44 using revone, so what would happen with s-off status if I were to flash the 3.06/2.17 firmware from snakyghost?
Would it remain s-off?
Also something caught my eye, is the hboot from snakyghost a modified version and would reverting to s-on while having it brick the device?

You will not lose s-off if you flash it just don't s-on with that firmware
Flashing firmware need not be a harrowing experience. As long as you read the guides carefully and follow the instructions to the letter, you will be fine. I have probably flashed at least 5-6 firmware packages on my One since getting it.
In general, once you're s-off, it's good to be on the most recent firmware because of various bug fixes like touch sensitivity. And, it would seem to be best to be on a matching firmware/rom base.
Once you start doing this stuff, however, forget about going back to s-on. You can do it if you're careful, but it's a bad idea. One mistake could leave you with a brick or crippled phone.
Again, to emphasize: Read very carefully, follow the instructions exactly, and you'll be safe.
Thank you Sirs
Usually i'd go and test things myself before asking, but in this case a wrong choice is not an option

You Can update Hboot boot via a firmware update (which I recommend if you are still on the original 4.12 firmware, as there have been some touch driver updates that really helped the capacitive buttons, look here for a great guide and firmware packages: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2316726 ), but you don't Have to update Hboot to flash Viper 2.1, it will work fine either way

It would be a good idea to update your firmware/Hboot to the 2.24 (4.22) version, so it matches the rom and you get the touch fixes I talked about. It's a good idea, but you do not have to, it's up to you. Hboot will change to 1.54, but you will stay S-off, no worries. Read that thread I linked, and I recommend this firmware https://mega.co.nz/#!nZoVXKpD!Iki5KkvxxhL9jZgJkegv_iHLbp0eHQALxAz5Nc50_rc from that thread if that's what you want to do. If that's the route you go, first update the firmware/Hboot, then flash the rom, then any custom kernels if desired

Yes! It is fine, and your phone will work better with the new touch drivers. I am not sure what the CID of the Developer's edition is, you might want to check that. Will definitely flash if Super CID (fastboot oem writecid 11111111), worked for me.
Look, before you flash firmware, you better read that guide I linked you to at the very least, I mean it. This is pretty routine, non-scary stuff, but you are S-off, and that means something. Read the thread, make sure you understand what you're doing, and I'm here to help. But I'm not trying to or going to convince you to do anything, read and decide for yourself, ok? I'm telling you it will work, but you have to decide and be comfortable

You don't "need" to update Hboot at all, but it will update to 1.54 with the firmware update. In my opinion, you " want" to update the firmware to: get the new, much improved touch drivers, be on the same firmware as your rom (ViperOne 2.1), and get whatever other updates are in the new firmware

The H-Boot has nothing to do with the touch screen.
The touch screen drivers were updated in the 2.17 and 2.24 firmware release.
Many people feel that the touch screen is more responsive with the updated drivers/firmware.
You do not NEED to update the firmware to run a 4.2.2 ROM. It will run fine on the older firmware.
I ran ViperOne on the older firmware up until very recently. No problems.

Oksagi,
I told you yesterday, you don't Need to flash anything to run Viper, I thought that was clear, your Hboot is fine. If you Want to update your firmware, I gave you links to a very good guide, and to the firmware you should use, IF YOU WANT. Again, you are fine on your Hboot, go ahead and flash Viper, I think you will love it, I do. I think updating firmware may be too much for you at this point. Good luck sir....
Sorry For my newbie-ness but what advantages has S-OFF and what can i do with it ?
Not first time flasher, I installed a stock GPe 4.3 rom on my One and now I want to fully convert it. Right now, the device is:
- CID = TELUS001 (Telus in Canada)
- Bootloader: Unlocked
- HBoot: 1.44
- S-ON
My attempt to achieve S-OFF with Revone, in order to proceed to the first steps of the conversion, was unsuccessful because of my 4.3 rom. My question is about my next move. As I am unable to recover a non corrupted Telus RUU, I was wondering which option would best suit my needs:
1. I flash any 4.2 rom and then achieve S-OFF using Revone.
2. I get it back to stock using the Easy Stock Reset tool. Although I guess it won't work because of my CID but I probably miss something here.
3. Anything else.
I would like to have an advice/thought/coment on that.
Thanks

ah ok, so if you want to go back to 4.1.2, you'll have to do the following (easy since S-Off):
Get yourself a full RUU.exe from here: http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/ruu-file-downloads/
Maybe this one (if your MID matches): http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/ruu_m7_...1-27_10-31-1131-05_release_310878_signed-exe/
this will downgrade everything back to stock 1.28.401.7 (it will also wipe your phone !!!)
and then you can use any 4.1.2 ROM, with working touchscreen

If you flash in twrp you need to flash the boot.img in fastboot in order to boot because your s-on. And also what you are running I believe are gsm based roms. In which case they will never boot.
How come Android Revolution ROMs keep putting my phone into a bootloop?

ARHD is not compatible with Sprint.
By flashing it your partitions are messed up now.
You will need to RUU to fix and stay in the Sprint section when choosing a rom.

Yep says it several times in the OP.
I can't seem to get any other ROM to boot except CyanogenMod and LiquidSmooth. CM is completely stable while the latest version of LS is a bit buggy. They both absolutely refuse to acceept any APN settings. I am using Ting's service right now and I can't use it on these ROMs.... I tried flashing several stock Sprint ROMs for the HTC Onr M7 and none of them will boot. They'll boot if I flash the boot.img like someone here suggested but it doesn't help. It will go to the desktop, however, the screen is completely black. Is there anyway to flash a stock ROM properly? RUU's don't work either.

Thanks! I will definitely try this.
Sauprankul, I just want to say thank you for letting me know about that link. I was able to fully restore the stock ROM! Not only that, I was able to flash an updated firmware which was 6.16.651.2_firmware. And install the RUU.exe = “RUU_M7_WL_L50_SENSE60_SPCS_MR_Sprint_WWE_6.16.651.2_Radio_1.01.20.1225_NV_SPCS_4.38_003_release_414036_signed_2” which updated me to Software Ver. 6.16.651.2, Android 5.0.2 Lollipop (which I’ve never had before because of TWRP) and HBOOT 1.60.0000! So now, I’m back better than ever thanks to you guys. /bow

Hello guys,
Gurren Lagann is your HTC M7 GSM or CDMA?
Mine is GSM and I'd like to update it to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop.
Thanks in advance.

My HTC One is CDMA (Sprint).
First try updating by going to Settings ---> About ---> Software Updates. If that doesn't work try the following:
This Lollipop update process is ONLY for the Sprint HTC One M7.
First flash the firmware via Fastboot: 6.16.651.2_firmware.zip >>> https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934523626
And then install the RUU for 6.16.651.2 via Bootloader RUU Menu:
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_..._NV_SPCS_4.38_003_release_414036_signed_2.exe
If you don't know how to do these things, then you shouldn't attempt to. You could end up hard-bricking your phone.

Hello again,
I have some experience using fastboot. The thing is that my HTC M7 originally was Sprint CDMA but the person I bought it from he assured me that he unlocked the GSM.

I guess my HTC M7 is similiar to yours, but I want to be sure before flashing it. I have a backup already just in case.
Thanks a lot.
Your phone is for sprint as it says m7wls you can use gsm service perhaps since you say its unlocked meaning Sim unlock always look for Roms that are m7spr or M7wls based I also suggest s-off so you don't have any complications with flashing

Awesome! I'll make sure to re-read the roms/RUU's specifications prior to install any.
Thanks a lot guys.

It has been a little bit difficult to S-off my HTC, since it has Hboot 1.57. So far I've tried Revone and Rum Runner without success.
Firewater seems to be down and I'm tempted to pay for SunShine, but I'm not really sure about paying for an application that might not work.
My HTC originally came with Android 4.4.2 and I got a notification to upgrade to lollipop via OTA, but I was suggested to make a backup just in case. So I had to root my phone, unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP in order to get my system backup, but due to the previous procedures I can no longer upgrade to lollipop.
Right now all I want is to follow my original plan by installing a stock rom and try to update to lollipop via OTA.
You kindly suggested me to s-off my cellphone, but I've seen some videos on youtube in which they install stock roms with s-on:

Do you mean flashing firmware.zip with these commands?:
Fastboot oem rebootRUU
Fastboot flash zip firmware.zip
Fastboot reboot-bootloader

I'm counfused, I thought that both (firmware and RUU.zip), should be flashed via fastboot. Am I missing something?
Thank you in advance.
Never mind guys
Finally I upgraded my HTC to Lollipop.
I freaked out because it didn't boot up after flashing RUU.zip
I decided to go out for dinner and come back and try as many times as needed. Fortunately I realized that I misspelled the command fastboot reboot-bootloader I had forgotten to type the hyphen. Then I reinstalled the drivers, rebooted my pc, tried another usb port and used the RUU.exe. Now my HTC M7 seems to be working perfectly
Thank you very much guys.
