New to the forum and apologies if this is a stupid question (or in the wrong forum), but is the root de la vega process safe? If so why is that thread locked and the file downloads gone/broken?
I know it appears kingo and the other one, may not be totally safe so they were removed totally, but is the de la vega ok?
Thanks
It is relatively safe it pretty much rehashes your entire system so I guess that could be a scary thing. Other than that no worries the thread got locked initially because kingo was so much easier.

Do a Google search for the "AT&T root de la vega" 7z file. There are a few tech news websites that point to the download.

Since there is no Samsung Exhibit 4G forum thread here, so. Does anyone know how to unlock the bootloader for the SGH-T759? If you do know a link, please post it. I tried to install CWM Recovery with ODIN, only resulting in a failure (I fixed it) because I need to unlock it. So, please help!
This info is in android general use the search function, if that fails remember, Google is your friend. Don't ask questions about another device here as they are not the same in any way other than being Samsung.

I will be completely honest I am a complete retard when understanding how rooting works... But I have done the process a dozen of times and I havent had any major problems but for this root I cant figure it out! So here is my problem....
Verizon sent me an update to the newest system version (98.72.189.XT894.Verizon.en.US) so naturally I downloaded and installed the update and it UNROOTED my phone! I no longer have safestrap and superuser access and such. So I have tried different techniques and different programs on rooting this bad boy such as Motofail and Razrs_edge and I still cant get it to work... Both programs have the usual errors of "Permission Denied" or "Unable to". So all and all.... I NEED HELP!
Here is what I do know like im 99% sure about
-I have all the drivers and their is no yellow triangle and I have motorola device manager.
-I have Unknown Sources checked and USB debugging checked.
-I also forced stopped smart actions cuz I read on a post that I was causing problems while rooting.
Here is what I do NOT know
-Which USB mode do I need to be on? Mass Storage? MTP? idk!
-Do it matter that I am on 4.1.2?
Again I want to thank you for your time and I really would like some help with this darn thing! I am kinda desperate right now..

Hi,
The old root method won't work after the OTA update.
You need to use this method:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50705053
Worked for me fine.

Hey Guys,
I'm just looking for some direction on the best way to root my AT&T Note 3 that has already been updated to Kit Kat.
A lot of what I am reading is from people already rooted that are trying to update to Kit Kat but I have a unrooted Note 3 that is already running Kit Kat.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. I would prefer rooting without tripping the Knox counter.
Thanks!

Nothing yet, check back later.
Go to development. Go to Knoxraid. Read.
there's no current root as of right now, even to get knoxraid, as the user above suggests, you have to have root in order to install safestrap to get knoxraid in the first place, to my understanding.
No. That's not necessarily true. You can use the restore method to go back to 4.3 then use safestrap to flash a 4.4 rom that has root. Like Knoxraid

What you say is true if you are on leak MLG kitkat. if on official/OTA kitkat (NC2) its impossible to revert to old MJ5 kernals. I've spent quite a few hours looking into this. If that has changed since i last investigated though, feel free to correct me
There is no reverting from the official NC2 kitkat.

Also, OP, please remember that questions go in the QA section.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the quality of the majority of users has really gone in the toilet on XDA?

Sorry to inform, however questions go in the "AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting" not in the general section. The OP is in the right-of-way for posting a question in this section. There have been plenty of times when moderators have reminded posters to please post questions not in the general section, but in the Q&A section.
UPDATE: This is actually from the "General Section" as a sticky:

That's really not the concern.
The question is: Is the app, that you found somewhere on the web, safe?
Did the Dev include malware, spyware, adware, keylogger....
If the app is not open source, there is no guaranteed way to check.
The other questions is, does it root the device? That is fairly easy to check use Root checker

reply::
It rooted the phone. I used safestrap and install ICS. The app wasn't fully in English tho. Part of it was but mostly in something like Chinese or Japanese or something. I really don't know if it had a virus or anything but it did root the phone.

above poster beat me too it. i used the mf1 modem.
at some point when i am not travling i would like to find the correct one/best one. aka the one that i should be running.
Thanks guys but it still didn't work. Tried ml1 and 2 and while the first modem took, it didn't fix the problem. Tried the second modem and it failed. Both are named modem.bin. Wi-Fi still works great though but it still fails to read SIM cards
