What do you guys think about this case? - G2 Accessories

Hey guys does any one think this case will be good to protect my new lg g2 which will be here in 2 days?
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00FU95ML8
i kinda like the built in stand but not sure how bulky it is.
Or do you think it would be better to get this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290999150200
or a cheap http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310734558203
Thanks.

I have the spigen slim armor and I'm very happy with it. It offers good protection without much bulk and looks really nice with its form-factor.

thanks but i can't get that case in the UK.

In my opinion, 99% of the cases on the market for any phone is hideous. I was glad to have come across something like the Spigen Slim Armor case which is exactly what I would look for in a case, offers protection and simple not over-the-top looks.

The phone certainly feels wider than the stock body but it honestly doesn't feel bigger.
I attribute this due to the case having a little more grip than the stock body so it's easier to hold. The "angled cuts" instead of the curved body at the back is much easier to hold and less like a bar of soap.
I got the metal slate color which is kindof in a matte finish so it improves the amount of grip. I can't really comment on the back for the other colors since I've never seen them in person but I would assume they have less grip than the metal slate color because they have a shiny finish.
Edit: The reason why the length/width increase is different is likely due to margin of errors in my measurements.

The metal slate color/colour (yeah im british so i spell it differently) is awesome and defintely the one i would get... i also have the same colour on most my cars on GTA Online (off-topic i know).
The measurements were good enough for me, i was expecting it to be like 1.5cm to 2cm's bigger and it clearly isn't

I'm Canadian and should be spelling it as colour but I change my spelling on American forums. :silly:
For 13 years of owning cell phones, I have never once used a case since I don't like the added bulk and appearance.
Despite my hate for cases though, I actually enjoy the look and feel of my Slim Armor.
Edit: One thing I do want to point out about the Slim Armor case is that every cutout matches the phone perfectly... except the cut out for the headphone jack is off-center.
My earphones which have a small jack already touches/rubs the case and I can see some headphones with large jacks having trouble plugging in.
I think that's something Incipio did right with their cases which is combining the cutout for the headphone port with the bottom speaker which will provide more space for different-sized jacks.

Thin, snug silicone cover

Can anyone recommend a thin and snug silicone cover that does not cover up all the buttons (at least not on the front)?
I just need something to take the edge of if I were to drop it, without adding too much bulk or hanging loose.
So far best choices seem to be boxwave or the one expansys will get, but haven't tried either:
http://www.boxwave.com/products/flexiskin/flexiskin-htc-magic_3484.htm
http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=182306
actually this doesn't look too bad either:
http://www.boxwave.com/products/purecrystalslip/htc-magic-pure-crystal-slip-case_3484.htm
Has anyone bought one of these? Just curious if it's actually a hard case and if so how you can slip it on and keep a tight fit

thats pretty slick looking, Looks to me though to maybe be a combination of a hard case (the back) and silicone (the sides).. Definitely looks good regardless..
I have this
I have the HTC branded silicone case and it not very snug but it was all I could get. It was the only choice for me.

seems a little thick on the top side. I was looking for something very thin, like the ones for blackberry curve if you've seen them, very slim, very tight and blends in well with it
Been shopping around till my myTouch arrives but has anybody try the Plastic resin type?

looks likes its snug and better than the silicone ones. check out the video at around 5:05 for the magic
They look quite good actually, quite thin. I've just ordered a blue one and a clear one. Only cost £5.50 all in to get it to the UK. Will leave a review when they turn up.
I am currently using one of the clear silicone cases from ebay, they are ok but they add a bit of bulk to the phone which I don't like.

Yeah I was thinking of getting a black one but I've seen our (HTC Magic) phone with a black silicone case on it and it looks really weird. Like too much black on that nice white body, doesn't look good.

its almost like the one I posted on ebay but without the design and you get 5pcs instead of 1 now the only thing in question is quality and how snug it is.
Anyone that gets any of these please let us know how it is

Right they turned up today, took probably 7 days I think to get from Japan to London, so pretty good.
First thing I asked for Clear and Blue cases. I got clear and black. Those funny Japanese folk probably couldn't read my VERY CLEAR ENGLISH.
Anyways first thing you notice is that they feel a lot tougher then the standard silicone ones you get off ebay (I was using a clear silicone case from ebay) the japanese ones are very tough, but still durable, they fit my magic a lot more tightly the the bog standard silicone ones.
Second thing I notice is how much more grip it gives you, much better then the silicone ones.
Thirdly and perhaps most importantly is the fact that YES they are thinner then the sillicone ones which seem to add a bit of un-wanted bulk to the magic. This new case must add barely 1mm to the unit.
I haven't quite worked out if I like the pattern that seems to be on the case, the black case looks ok but I really wanted the blue one! SO i'm going to email them now and see if they reply, doubt they will though.
lastly the provide you with a couple of 'free' screen protectors. These are actually the best ones i've used! They really are fantastic, they fit the screen perfectly, are perfectly clear, no bubbles and you can't even tell they are on there! And it doesn't affect the use of the screen at all, I mean it's still ultra sensitive when swiping your finger etc. Very happy with these!
All in all I like these cases and think for the price, especially considering how good the screen protectors are (worked out at about £7 inc shipping to UK) it's a pretty good deal.
Doesn't mean I won't be looking for another case tho
But until I fall in love with one, this will be the one I use.
Hey thanks for the review I actually ordered the 5pack they have for $20 I just hope they don't make a mistake on the colors. I ordered 2 clear(for me ) and 1 of each pink, blue, purple(for my wife)
but then after i bought it i found this ebay which is a little bit cheaper and had a diff design but who know maybe its the same quality. I might try those out as well

Rock "Barely There" HTC Vivid case

I hadn't seen any reviews of this one, so I figured I'd do a quick review and give some better pics of the case in action.
Manufacturer: "Rock"
Model: "NakedShell" AKA "Barely There" for HTC Holiday/Vivid/Raider
Source: Ebay. So far, I've only seen them sold by "luckyexpress168". (I have no affiliation other than buying a case from them)
Cost: Varies with exchange rate, approx $14 USD currently
Ships from China... slowly. Not that it was unexpected, the auction says it will take a while, but it was at least 2 weeks to get to me in Ohio.
Thoughts -
Fit/finish are great. Fits the phone perfectly, and all ports are easily accessible. Headphones, USB cable, speaker, camera, flash, volume... all work fine.
The texture is hard to describe, but I LOVE it. I had tried the Otter Box rubber case before and hated it because it was so grippy. I had the hardest time getting it in/out of my pockets. Not the Rock case! It's got this great silky/velvety feel to it, but it's not "sticky" so it goes in and out of pockets easily.
The profile of the case is intentionally small. It's really "Barely There". I'm sure it doesn't offer as much protection as some others, but it seems fine for my needs. Not at all bulky and it retains what I feel are the good lines of the phone.
Overall, I'm VERY pleased with this case. Just what I was looking for, and so far I haven't seen another similar design.
On to the pictures. If you have any other questions feel free to ask and I'll answer them as best as I can.

Damn not bad for $15. I have the otterbox but thats just because of my job and the likelyhood of something happeneing at work is high. I have been looking for a weekend/after work case and this might be it.
Thanks
Thanks for the review. The tpu case I have now works well enough while I wait for my Otterbox commuter but this one might be good for backup.
Just a question about the first picture.
How come you have the lighter circles around the soft buttons at the bottom? I don't have that on my Raider.

Oops, forgot to mention that. That's because of the screen protector. I got the Moshi at the AT&T store the day I got the phone. I know some people hate them, but I really like the matte finish and the fingerprint resistance.

Awesome, thanks for the review! I was debating between jumping into an OtterBox or holding out for something else. I'm glad I waited
Looks like this may be the way to go to keep from losing the back plate / cover

It actually does have that a tiny bit, but it seems to be only visible when the screen is off. It doesn't bother me, but I can understand how it would be annoying (especially for $25).

This case looks nice but im not sure how it would hold up during a drop on concrete. The bottom and top of the phone isn't that protected with this case.I work on concrete and have ordered the otterbox commuter case.I will post pics when i get it.Thanks for the great review and pictures.
I actually planned on ordering the red one for my white Vivid, but then I noticed it didn't have the small cutout for the secondary microphone in the back, next to the camera.. Not sure how important that is but it's there for a reason so I'd prefer it was open with the case on.. Disappointing..
Now thinking to get the Seidio Surface case in the Sapphire blue.. It looks like it has a similar soft touch finish, and not very bulky.. I wonder if it's as sleek as the Rock...

Review:
Positives:
Port cutouts fit perfectly.
Hard plastic and aluminum work well from drops (confirmed.)
I think it looks sleek, but that's just this mans opinion.
Fits VERY snuggly (hard to get out, negative maybe?)
No wiggle room, N7 stays in like a champ.
Negatives:
Would have preferred the case to enclose the entire N7, like the bottom near the ports. Would be harder to get out, but would protect better.
Fits VERY snuggly, N7 doesn't want to come out.
Other:
No front cover, not really a negative because it's obvious that it doesn't have a front cover, but requires me to use a sleeve.
Final thoughts:
I very much enjoy this case. I prefer the black to the white, (the white is a bit "ipadish") for my taste, but once again that's my opinion. I also enjoy the amount of weight it adds, because it's aluminum it's heavier than your normal skin but I did not find this to be a negative. Some people were complaining about the "tacky" logo on the back, but I actually enjoyed it. I like the Poetic logo with the silver aluminum trim. Another complaint was that the NFC chip would be blocked by the aluminum, but that is what the
carbon fiber" logo is for. So there, naysayers .
I dropped my Nexus 7 (I know, I'm cool like that though) from a distance of 1, 2, 5, and 10 feet. My N7 is still fully functioning and the case was left with no cosmetic damage. Think I'm lying? The above pictures were taken POST DROP TEST. See any damage?

I suppose it doesn't have to, I don't mind it, but that plastic carbon fiber back panel is so the NFC chip still works.
Thanks for the review and the pics. I received the black case and agree with your findings. There does not appear to be any issues with the wi-fi radio strength either. I think it's a great case for around the house and the build quality seems very good.
No drop test here
I am wondering if it is easy to take out the aluminum part?
I read that it is just glued, correct?
This is nice, I want this kind of shell like Incipio Feather products. But I don't like the aluminum part
How do those pics prove you did any kind of drop test?. Its just a bunch of pics of the case and tablet. Post a video that you did a drop from 10ft and people will believe you.

Why is it that everybody has to prove something when they share their experiences? I mean seriously I doubt anyone wants to repeatedly drop their tablet just to prove what a case can do. Its obvious that this case isnt really meant to protect against drops by the way its designed (not fully covering the device). And 10ft?? I think its safe to say the N7 would get pretty banged up if dropped from 10ft in this case.

Why is it that everybody has to prove something when they share their experiences? I mean seriously I doubt anyone wants to repeatedly drop their tablet just to prove what a case can do. He is claiming that this case can protect against a 10 ft drop and then saying the pics prove this. I'm just pointing out that his pics don't prove he did any kind of drop test. I agree with you that this case won't offer much drop protection, I'm not the one saying it does.

Has anyone used this case and an Incipio Feather by chance? Wondering which is thinner.

[REQ] Note II Case with Lanyard hole / loop

I've been searching tirelessly for over a week now for a Note II case with cutouts for a lanyard. I've used one on pretty much all of my devices and it really helps with preventing drops.
I've ordered several cases (for other devices) from Cruzerlite, and some of them have had the cut outs. But it doesn't look like the Note II versions have it. Yes, I could totally punch my own holes.. but it's always better if they do the punching before hand.. with machines (or laser beams).
I see the official samsung one has a spot for it. I'm looking for something slimmer though-- that one looks bulky, unless I'm crazy. Any cases that you guys/gals have ordered that have lanyard holes?
I currently have the Body Glove case from T-Mobile, and have run the lanyard thru the top, but it looks funny and leaves a gap in between the case and the screen (it's also loose).
To make this thread less useless, I'll post pics in the OP if you guys have any-- for anyone else on a similar quest.
FYI.. lanyard kinda looks like this:

Zenus Prestige Neo Vintage perhaps? You even get a cool strap with the case.
See here

i think you're crazy. you can't get much slimmer than the official samsung case without losing protection/exposing more of the phone. I currently use the thicker Speck Candyshell that I drilled 2 small holes into. I also have the samsung case, but I felt it didn't offer enough protection.

I generally will sacrifice extra protection for slimness (wut), given the whole phone is covered. I like the reearth case, but don't like the exposed parts. That's cool tho - I was actually hoping I was crazy, and you've sold me on the Samsung one .

You could try to slip the lanyard through the speaker grille with or without a case.

But I guess you do get a small kickstand.
IMO, not worth $30
This is the first I have ever heard of "FlyGrip"
and from the looks of it, it seems like it would be a pain.
And not a pain thats worth $30...
.. however, it seems as though they donate profits(?)
I'd rather just help by sending a donation then to have that thing attached to my phone.. :/

If you actually looked at some videos you'd see its pretty small and in-genius, its far from a pain in the ass..actually looks like its quick and easy just need practice. That velcro finger slots thing looks like a pain in the ass and super tacky. $30 is a lot and it should be like $20 max but w.e.
I stopped using the lazy hands because it is tacky looking. it functions really well, but the form is terrible. so it depends if you value function>form or form>function. i think the fly grip is too expensive for what it is. I'm sure its a great product, but I'd rather spend $20 or less. The TPU case they include is of no value to me.
I want a flygrip but their site say the small and medium sizes are don't work well with the Note2 as a kickstand. They are working on a fix in future builds. It looks great and kills 2 birds with one stone (kickstand and one-handed security).
Anyways, I think all phones should have holes for wrist straps like the good ol' Sony Ericsson w810i walkman phones. It's like they want us to drop our phones in the gutter.
In the video, the fly grip really did look kind of difficult to open. Now, if the fly grip people and the Velcro finger people mated, and made something flush with the back of a case, that'd be cool.

30 to protect your 700 dollar phone without worry is worth it to me. It isn't hard to open or use and fits the note 2 fine. They give you a free tpu fitted case with purchase.
here is my review with pictures and a video unboxing of the flygrip

FOUND! Thin Case with CAMERA PROTECTION

Was using the Samsung OEM silicone case but wanted something that was just as slim but also covered the camera glass because it's so big and pops out. Found this $9 case on Amazon. It has front raised lips for drop protection (minimal) and is actually even slimmer than the Samsung case so it feels like it's barely there. Unblock glossy TPU, it is matte black which I also prefer. I have a video of it here next to the official Samsung one: https://youtu.be/fMflVeSzkwU
I just ordered one...I'll let you know how I like it on Wednesday
Looks good. Wish it came with more color options though..
Good luck with the 3rd mic working properly in that case, though.

Not all. I have the ESR Tough Alliance, the Ringke X Fusion and Ringke Air-S. The Ringke cases have some 2mm of space between the camera bump. These cases do not cover the mic. The ESR cases are particularly better for its slanted sides on the camera mic side. It captures audio from the slanted side more effectively.
The Moment thin case is very nice and I think it is what you are looking for. I have it along with several Spigen cases.

You can download the user guide. It's there on page 12.
I went with a case with a sliding cover. By my standards I find the case pretty thin, but I typically go with really rugged cases, so my case thickness standards may differ from yours.

3rd mike useless outside of "scumbag" mode!
BUT! The camera glass shouldn't be covered like that.
Just as you should never put a runner over carpet!
Over time when you think you are protecting what's underneath you will find you're doing far more damage.
Why? Dirt gets underneath and will abrade the hell out of the glass.
I'll take my chances, sorry.
Ditto for screen. Can't stand having protectors over screens, ESPECIALLY curved screens. And too, they literally wreck the FP reader action.
JMHO, of course.

I ordered the version of this case with the built in ring stand on the back. Not only are you totally right about the danger of the camera glass getting scratched, but the entire case had no interior protection material to keep grit or dust from scuffing up the phone itself over time. It also didn't fit snug enough to make this issue moot. Immediately returned....
I ordered the LATERCASE its thin but still covers the camera Bump, has been shipped and my note 20 ultra won`t be delivered until the 19th so we`ll see how it goes.

Aliexpress for a cheaper price. Be ready for a long delivery period though of at least a month if not more.
