Hey guys,
my SP has some serious problems with standard 2g(?) connectivity, I can't receive calls or SMS' until I have done either myself.
It feels like the phone turns off the 2g network after some time and only reactivates (for a bit) when I use them myself.
There is nothing to indicate the network not being on. The phone is completely stock.
Help much appreciated, this is driving me crazy!
When on internet via 2G you cant use sms and cant make calls. However it can also be a SIM card issue get a new one. This will solve most of the conectivity issues

I'm having serious problems with this phone, I do not use gprs and will only be using this phone for wifi. Randomly the phone will freeze, whether playing music, a game, surfing, basically whatever I am doing, for about 20 seconds to connect to gprs/3g.
I have called Orange who claim that they do not support wifi (I'm having no issue with wifi) and that they prefer me to connect through gprs (of course they do, their business data rates are ridiculously expensive) and that the only thing they can do to stop the gprs is by switching off at sim chip. This does not resolve the issue of the actual handset trying to connect to gprs randomly and they suggest I speak to HTC.
I'm thinking Orange have done something to the phone to automatically connect to gprs when they rebrand the phone, does anyone know a way to get around this issue without debranding the phone (I have "free" insurance etc I don't fancy losing this if I debrand).
It is making the phone inoperable as the freezing is ridiculous while it tries to connect to something that has been disabled at the Orange end, just not phone end.
Any help would be much appreciated!!!
anyone? or can anyone confirm if this is unique to my phone and I may actually have a fault? Thanks.
Hello, after some time I experienced strange problem with my TyTn II. Some of incoming calls are redirected to voicebox even if the phone seems to be connected to the network. Moreover, I almost cant connect via 3G to the internet. It tries to connect than returns the message "called modem disconnected". The internet icon changes to something like two arrows with X. It connects sometimes but the internet seems to be quite slow and it disconnects after some time with the some message. Sometimes but rarely, the outgoing calls are not working as well (without any message, just "calling" changed to "end of call" message). Sometimes the phone looses signal in the area where definitely is a good signal. All other functions are absolutely perfect, SMS including.
Anybody experienced such issue ?
I made hard reset but it didnt help. I tested the phone in different places. I am using original ROM and new SIM card which work perfect in other phones. I have never flashed the ROM, never bathed my phone in the beer, nothing bad happened to it
I sent it to HTC service but they have returned it after one month with the message saying that during troubleshooting they didnt experience any problems so they just rewritten the original software in the phone. It was ok than for 2 weeks but now all problems returned again.
If you have any hint or have the same experience, please let me know. Thanks
Try switching to GSM only (no 3G) mode.
If it works there, it's most likely hardware fault.
I've noticed recently that I can't seem to access 2G/3G while on calls. I remember being able to do this with unrooted phone. Is there a feature or service I need to disable for this to work? I have wifi, gps, bluetooth all on at once, most of the time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Never ever seen edge/3g on my mytouch or my old g1 my g1 wasnt ever rooted the mytouch is and like I said I've never seen the data icon on while in a call are 100% certain that it used to be on?
I have 2/3g while on calls on my rooted g1. I think the issue is if you're on call, and hit a blind spot where you get disconnected from your data connection but not voice (this happens to be often). It will not reconnect the data connect edge or 3g until I end the voice call. I also get into this problem if i'm connected on wifi while i'm on call and leaves the wifi area, it'll not connect to 2/3 g until i end the voice connection.
you cannot use 2g + voice at the same time. only 3g

I have xperia sp 5303 model.

hello,
i´m having massive cellular network problems for a while now. The Z2pro won´t find cellular networks more often and even if i´m connected to a network, i´m not able to call anybody or receive calls. Everytime i try to call someone, it resets my network connection, like it would switch Airplane mode on/off. i first thougt it´s an provider problem but my mobile data somehow works fine and i´m able to call/write via WhatsApp.
Did anybody encounter similiar problems?
Phone is on 2.5.335 ST and rooted. I have no "signal booster" apps installed.

Someone tell me that they cant reach me with phone, I try to call myself with another phone, but z2 pro is normal.
Yesterday morning, the z2 pro screen off about 8 hours, I test it again but failure in same place and same network.
I turn on the screen, the signal is full and test its call and received function, all thing is normal.
I think, the problem may be background task killed.
Facing the same problem.
