[Q] Droid 3 CM10.1 No service Problems

I recently installed both AOKP and CM10, the most recent versions on my Verizon Droid 3. Now, i have no service. I downloaded (via wifi) the app "lte on/off" to get a look at what was happening, and the radio keeps rapidly switching on and off, on and off over and over again. This happened with all the AOKP versions i tried and both CM10 versions I tried. Ive rebooted, re-flashed, tried different download links, reflashed again, wipe and reflash. Im at a complete loss here guys, any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I had the exact same problem. I went insane scouring the web for hours trying to find a single person with the same problem until I finally gave up. Does anyone know the last version that actually worked?

I also have this problem, do anyone have any idea how to fix this problem?

I had similar problems on cm10.1. I have no idea if this will work (I'm outside the US, and my phone asked me to activate the phone), but I also had no service, no data. I changed my network mode from GLOBAL to GSM/WCDMA auto. Now I have service and data (Data after applying the correct carrier apn settings)
I hope this helps you all
P.S. after this step I made factory resets without the need to do the above step again (You only need to put the correct apn settings again if your on networks other than Verizon)

Hi all! I have a droid 4. i just flashed it with CM10.2.1 and then updated to CM11. in both version sms is not working. I type a new text and it fails: i get the red triangle and message not sent.
I looked around and I found it's a common issue and if you remove "voice+" sending sms is available again. I removed "voice+" going to system>app>voiceplus.apk and deleting it as i saw in a thread and reboted, many times. still not working.
then I also went to the *#*#4636#*#* menu and checked the SMSC. I tried both the +39 and the 079193 version but still nothing.
I have to add I'm using the phone in italy over a GSM network. Phone calls and data network (3G) works perfectly!
How can I fix this? CM11 is a stable on this phone, strange to have such a big problem!

I get no GSM signal...

Installing the patch twice uninstalls it.
Install it again and then reboot.
If you upgrade the ROM at any point in the future you don't need to install the patch just reboot again.
So, first reboot after a ROM upgrade will leave you with no GSM signal but another reboot will bring it back.

I did it and in the 4636 menu I have GSM but still does not get signal...

Have you tried using an alternative SMS App? Hangouts maybe?

So I managed to solve the problem. This is the way:
-deleted rom slot 1.
-recreated a partition in rom slot 1
-wiped everything in slot 1
-flashed cm 10.2.1
-flashed gsm patch
-booted
-flashed gapps
Now everything is fine!

SM-g800F 3g and 4g problem

When i turn the netwerkmodus on LTE/WCDMA/GSM automatic i get Emergency calls only. When i turn the modus on only GSM(2g) i have signal back.
How can i fix this i run the stock android 5

Hi everybody (and sorry in advance for my poor english) !
I am having exactly the same problem as the OP. To explain the situation in a nutshell:
I have the SM-G800F, for about a month. It worked fine, until I moved to the other end of France (it probably has nothing to do, though). Passing on the highway, "Emergency calls only" showed up while I was looking at my emails. The problem is that things never got back to normal.
The situation :
As I said, the same as the OP. When I turn on my phone or I go out of airplane mode, my phone tries to connect to 2G, then 4G / H+. The process takes a few seconds, then any indicator (left of network "bars") disappears, and I can't issue or receive calls, nor use data.
But if I force "2G only", everything works just fine.
I was using a rooted 5.1.1.. In the meantime, I tried several suggestions found here or elsewhere:
-Turn off the phone and on again : Nothing
-Enable / Disable flight mode: Nothing
-Remove / Replace the SIM card: Nothing
-Putting the sim in another phone: everything works just fine, so the problem may not be a faulty sim card
-Wipe Data / Cache Data then use Odin to reinstall a stock 5.1.1 rom (I'm really a noob to find the right words, sorry in advance, but my phone says, under the "version number" field , LMY47X .G800FXXU1BPC4 and the ROM I used is named : -G800FXXU1AOG2_G800FOXX1AOG1_G800FXXU1AOG2_HOME.tar.md5 filename
Manual carrier selection : Nothing
-Turn on Data Roaming : Nothing
-Checker my APN : Everything seems just fine
I can't tell for sure but I do not think it is related to my home. My problem began on the road and took the rest of the trip (2h/3h), and even around in the city, it remains. Moreover, my backup phone and the other people on the same network as me (Orange) don't encounter this problem.
So, I'm a little bit confused and a bit worried because of Knox (0x1: /). If you have opinions, advice, guidance, thank you very much in advance!

No, I really don't know what the problem is I think it's something in the phone itself

Hi !
Not yet ... I have another phone now but i still try now and then to fix my S5 mini.
So far, nothing worked. Some tech guy told me it was a common issue with that phone's antenna. Also read that from several forums.
Still, i read that some users were able to fix similar looking issues by flashing the modem file with Odin. I'm a bit n00b but i guess i'll give it a try.
Any success on your side ?

You can try searching for your carrier manually and choosing it.

Thanks, but i already tried that many many times. My S5 Mini just displays "Network XXX unavailable" (or its nearest equivalent in French)
Did any of you manage to fix that by flashing your modem file with Odin ?
I've tried additional stuff but nothing seems to work. Back to stock Marshmallow. Still loosing radio signal whenever I enable 3/4G.
Maybe the bottomline is "hardware failure" but who knows...

Have you tried a deep reset? If it does not works, try a custom ROM...

I did try "Factory Reset" and "Wipe Cache" while in the Recovery Menu (Home+Power+Vol Up if I remember well). Is that what you were refering to ?
But I think I didn't try flashing a custom rom. Could you recommend one ?

Yes I was meaning this. For a custom ROM i can recommend One of the latest with NOUGAT like Lineage OS 14.1

Hi,
I installed Lineage OS 14.1, it's great but the same problem keeps happening. Everything works just fine in 2G, but whenever I enable 3G or 4G, my phone looses radio siglal and switches to "Emergency calls only" after a few seconds.
Any other thoughts ?

Flash the last modem/baseband, did yoy try *#*#4636#*#* ? You can manually select wcdma only(3g) or lte only(4g) (sorry for my bad english)

still not working

When I choose 3G/2G auto connect from 1 line ti go to 4 signal.. so no LTE /4G for now..

No Mobile Data After Reboot on Cyanogenmod 13???

I keep having this issue with CM 13 where each time I reboot I'll have no mobile data. I had no other choice than to go to stock ROM. What causes this? Can someone find a fix for this? Is anyone else having the same issue???

I flashed CM 13 back onto my device a few hours ago and was tinkering around with it to see if I could figure out what the deal was. I haven't figured a perfect fix, but if you turn airplane mode on and back off again, you'll have mobile data for that boot.

I haven't heard of a fix either. If you select the network as 3G and reboot it always has a data connection when it comes back, so it seems like an LTE issue.
I just toggle to 3G and the back to LTE and it works.

new nightly supposedly fixed the data issue, heard one guy his data option now sticks to wherever he left it. check out on main original developer section. but i'm still hesitant on flashing because I am having issues as well as many people with 20o (H811), youtube freezing but audio continuing on HD or 60fps or both. tried all CM based ROMs and several gapps, but they all with same symptoms. i guess i'll wait on snapshot or..more stable CM nightlies to release.

Universal APN Fix for Sprint S4​
Hey guys. So I've had quite a few issues with my Sprint S4 as far as stock roms go. I decided to install a custom rom called Vanir and try it out. Well an issue I ran into was I could only get 3G to work. 4G LTE wasn't working. So what I ended up doing to solve the problem was quite simple. I believe this will work on pretty much any Sprint phone with the issue. The cause is the APN's.
Things you need:
Universal APN Fix - androidfilehost.com/?fid=24531035584725098 - Since I can't post links being a noob
Sprint S4
Custom Recovery - TWRP/CWM
A few minutes.
First I would like to say that this method isn't sure to work for all devices but it worked fine for mine. It was just a little bit tricky. So with that being said, anything you follow from this is completely at your own risk.
So what do you do?
The Steps:
Put the Universal APN Fix on your phone. Rather you do so via USB or by downloading it on your phone.
Reboot into your recovery.
Flash the Universal APN Fix in your recovery.
Select the carrier you use.
Reboot your phone.
Go to settings.
Find your APN settings.
Click on the menu key on the top right of the APN settings and select Reset to Default
Then select the APN that displays.
Profit
You should now have LTE. If you don't, make sure you are in a LTE area. You can also restart your phone and see if that helps.
I personally don't know anything but this helped me so I figured I'd share. Hopefully anyone else having this issue can solve it.
This does work on 7.1.2.
