I have an HTC One (AT&T)
Originally, I s-offed it, unlocked bootloader and converted to a GPE HTC One, thereby changing the CID to GOOGL001
Like an idiot, I s-oned again, only after flashing CM11.
Now, when I try to s-off again, it fails, even though I am on HBOOT 1.54
Whenever I try to flash back an RUU or GPE, it also fails. Am I stuck?

Good Guy Google:good:
EDIT: Remember: Disable Fast Boot in your ROM's Power Settings while using rumrunner. If Fast Boot is enabled rumrunner WILL NOT WORK. This is what did it for me in some cases. Maybe you can avoid the reset with Guru then

Hello
mmm , i am new in android os and i buy the best phone here the Htc one
and i open the bootloder and also i Install the supersu root
now i say to my self thats the time to s-off my phone
i download the all file ( revon , etc .. ) and i open the dos window
and write : cd c:\Android
adb push revone /data/local/tmp/
adb shell
cd /data/local/tmp
chmod 755 revone
./revone -P
and he says like that : Gaining root access (thanks to Dan’s motochopper)…Segmentation fault (core dum
ped)
he should say : Gaining root access (thanks to Dan’s motochopper)… Successfuly , rebot you device
what i can do now ?? what the Solution of that
any one can help me here :crying:
Best option is to ask in the revone topic...
It's late over here, but I will try to help you tomorrow.
That isn't a bad message, just an unexpected one, segmentation errors occur when trying to address a non-existent memory space. Check you're on hboot 1.44, have an unlocked bootloader (edit: apparently unnecessary) and simply repeat the process until it works. Revone is an exploit and still in the relatively early stages of its development so naturally there will be the occasional error.

Please note that an unlocked boatloader is not necessary for revone.

Make sure HTC Sync Manager isn`t running and uncheck fastboot and close in settings/energy (bottom item).
If your bootloader is 1.54.000 you will not be abe to gain S-off, all is explained in Revone thread.

On Viper one same thing (((
I received an O2 HTC One that had had some messing.
Device was S-ON, Tampered, Relocked with FW 3.62.401.1, custom ROM and HBOOT 1.55.
I unlocked the bootloader using HTVDev and ran rumrunner over it to get it S-OFF.
Plan was to return it to stock. I followed a guide on here to return it which entailed:
S-OFF
Downgrade to HBOOT 1.44
Change CID to HTC__032
Run RUU for FW 1.28.401.1
Change CID to O2___001
Restore Nandroid 1.28.206.1
Lock bootloader
Remove tampered
OTA updates to 3.62.206.1
S-ON
Because I am a fool I forgot to Lock the bootloader and remove tampered before I went S-ON. I am now on 3.62.206.1 and rumrunner does not seem to work. I get to the same point every time...
Code:
Checking for updates......
Test 1: Rebooting into bootloader
Waiting for fastboot (7/120)
Waiting
Test 2: Booting device
Waiting for ADB (35/120)
must ferment longer...
must sanitize, skunky rum is nasty
hold please..............................................
[------------------------------------------------------------]
Rebooting into bootloader (again)
Waiting for fastboot (7/120)
and then I get the FATAL error.
Things I have tried so far, all get to the same point:
1. Windows 7 w/ HTC Drivers provided with phone
2. Windows 7 w/ HTC Drivers downloaded
3. Windows 7 w/ CWM Drivers
4. Windows 8.0 w/ HTC Drivers provided from phone
5. Windows 8.0 w/ HTC Drivers downloaded
6. Windows 8.0 w/ CWM Drivers
7. Windows 8.1 w/ HTC Drivers provided with phone
8. Ubuntu 13.10
I am absolutely stumped. I can only assume that after the OTA update to 1.55 my phone is no longer vulnerable to whatever exploit Rumrunner uses.
Unless anyone else knows any reason for it to fail at this point?
Oh, and each OS was a clean install. I have spent a lot of time today on this!

That sound's awfully familiar, do I have anything to do with that?
If yes, then I said to S-On after 1st OTA ... not after OTA to 3.62
is you bootloader unlocked, or can you unlock bootloader using HTCdev?

The boot loader is unlocked. I can flash custom recovery and roms and also have the current rom rooted. It just appears that my HBOOT doesn't want to play ball.
It did indeed say to S-On after 1st OTA but also had a note that it may not be necessary. I read through and figured I would skip it as I was
, ironically, worried if I would successfully be able to S-OFF the next time around. I guess it was a kind of trial run and I was trying to play it safe.

And if you still can't get S-Off, try download a nandroid backup for your device and use the firewater method. It worked for me.

And if you still can't get S-Off, try download a nandroid backup for your device and use the firewater method. It worked for me.
Hope this helps

I can't find any newer version of nandroid backup for your device. Just try using a stock ROM guru reset: http://www.htc1guru.com/dld/guru_reset_m7_3-62-401-1-zip/
Just flash it and try the firewater method.
I hope this helps

Well I tried going back to ARHD 31.6 but still I get the same errors
Then I installed ElementalX but my phone stopped turning on so I just restored back to what I had.
I don't think S-OFF is gonna work on this phone

What ElementalX kernel version u used? The latest is not for ARHD 31.6.
U need Sense 5.5 Android 4.3 ElementalX kernel "ElementalX-m7-8.4":

What error do you receive when using firewater?
If you get the message "whelp this sucks.........." there is nothing you can do as the message says.
You must wait till new exploit will work for M7 (maybe SunShine will be updated for us).
Also wait until Sushine gets free.
U can also try ARHD and Bulletproof Kernel, or a ViperRom as firewater gets some positive feedback, see here:

Rumrunner will not work with hboot 1.56.
Post result from Firewater in Firewater thread.
Did u ensure device is booted to android with usb debugging enabled?
U typed by mistake "/data/local/tmp/firewater" twice? Reboot both device and computer and try again?
Unroot and try methode 2.

Hi guys ive been trying since yesterday but i cant get S-off. What im trying to do is change the CID so i can install a stock sense 6 RUU (EE in the UK havent updated to sense 6 yet, so im trying to update this way.)
Original CID was ORANG001 but i want to change to HTC__001.
So far i have unlocked the bootloader and rooted the phone, but s-off process keeps failing. Im currently using the Viperone 6.2.0 rom. S-off kept failing with the original stock rom as well so i tried this rom. I have tried both firewater and rumrunner. Here is what happens with rumruner
HBOOT is showing as 1.57.0000

Same thing happened to me, tried various roms but didnt work. Looks like the only way to S-Off on 1.57 is to use sunshine. There are reports from some users who successfully S-offed on 1.57. Search in Vomers guide, you might find some answers.
anyone else have any ideas? I dont want to start lashing roms again unless ts uneccessary?

you can forget rummrunner for 1.57, the only free solution that could possibly work is firewater
here are a few threads:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2632351
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/guide-htc-one-m7-hboot-1-57-s-off-t2807762
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one/general/s-off-htc-one-m7-hboot-1-57-t2821350
but if you get "whelp this sucks...." then it will not work
and if you are already on firmware 6.xx.xxx.x it may not even give that message but go through 12 bottles and still won't succeed.
the best way (though costs $25), is to use sunshine
thanks for the reply. I think id rather just go back to stock. Can you give me some instructions on how to go back to full stock? I cant find a matching RUU file but ive found a matching CID nandroid backup?

the easiest would be to use a Guru Reset ROM for you MID+CID+versionmain, but i don't know if there is one for you.
if you're going to use an nandroid backup, make sure it also has the /data/preload folder, otherwise you won't be able to install OTAs (and you need stock recovery too)
thanks but im not too sure what i need to do
I have found the following nandroid backup "M7 CWM Nandroid Backup CID ORANG001 2.24.61.1"
inside the folder i have
boot.emmc.win
boot.emmc.win.md5
data.ext4.win
data.ext4.win.md5
recovery (THIS IS A TEXT DOCUMENT)
system.ext4.win
system.ext4.win.md5
Are these the correct files that are needed?

No that's way to old, hboot 1.57 would imply you're running either 5.xx.61.x or 6.xx.61.x (you can check that using "fastboot getvar all")
i haven't seen any 5.xx or 6.xx stock roms for ORANG001 around (though i didnt do an exhaustive search, but don't think their is on)
so options:
get s-off using Sunshine -> do whatever you want
stay s-on -> use a custom ROM (or even stock ROM) flashable through TWRP, you will not be able to receive OTAs
ok so if i go with the second option to flash a stock rom, which roms should i flash? I have twrp recovery and not too worried about ota updates?
