[Q] Slimmest Sense based rom - Sprint HTC One (M7)

What is the slimmest sense based rom available for the Sprint HTC One? I don't use Facebook, Twitter, and all that other pre loaded crap. I know I can just uninstall all the pre loaded stuff but I get uninstall happy and really don't want to uninstall something I might need. Sorry if this is a stupid question, thank you guys in advance.

Use ROM Cleaner (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2247656).
Before I uninstalled anything I wasn't sure if it's needed or not, I'd disable it first to see if I got any adverse effect. If it didn't cause any problem then I would proceed with the removal.
Personally, I would always try to remove all the APKs and other stuff I know I don't want from the ROM zip before flashing that ROM on my phone. That would be my slimmest ROM. See the attached txt file for the list of files I normally removed. Best to open it in Notepad++.
Hope my answer helps. :cyclops:

Need to delete some pre installed programs

Hi I don't want to install some programs like calculator, clearvue, file explorer etc( i have other alt progs). These comes pre installed with rom. What i need to do so that i can save some memory. Do i need to customize the ROM? Thanks in advance for your help.
even if you cook a rom to remove those file you aren't freeing up memory that you can use unless you add files into the Rom.
Rom is seperate from the Program and Storage Memory.
So does that mean ...
I have done quite a bit of research, but I am still a newbie. So forgive me if this is a stupid question. Does that mean that I could cook a ROM that excluded Pocket IE but included Opera (which I legally own)? It seemed like most of what I have read about cooking ROMs related to what someone chose to include or exclude from the Extended ROM.
Thanks for any light you can shed. I have been wondering if it was possible to redo the ROM with certain programs replaced.

It is possible. You will need to do a lot of reading and be ready for many failed flashes (just remember to never include the IPL/SPL in your cooked roms so be sure that you can't brick your phone).

Sure.
Pick apart the ROM, remove the parts you don't want, recook and reflash it.
Seriously, that's the only way to remove something that is baked into a ROM.
It's nice to have a bunch of apps preloaded into a ROM, but I personally prefer to have a 'lite' ROM and just install stuff after the flash. It takes more time to get everything back up to where I want it, but it makes keeping the device up to date much easier.

Need help with root and remove quick office

Like i put in the title i need a help to root my Samsung Galaxy Mini and if is possible to remove Quickoffice. What i find looking around is to remove unwanted applications there is 2 way - one to use custom rom w/o (unwanted) applications or to root the phone and then remove by yourself.
Right now i'm using dany547 rom what i find HERE on xda forum and i'm really happy - everything works great (dany did good job with everything). Problem is that rom is almost same like it was my original rom with all grabage what it comes with stock rom.
With stock room i used superoneclick to root but looks like that option is not available anymore for current rom. I try but it didnt work.
So i would like to ask if anyone can explain how i can root my phone and remove quick office or suggest another custom rom what is already rooted but to be similar to one i already have (or any other suggestion is welcome).
P.S. Didnt try any other rom because i'm not sure how much space it will take and frankly for me only what is importat is stable and full working phone.
use 'Universal Androot' http://bit.ly/11EivNz it's what I used to root my mini... then install an app called root explorer then go system/app then delete the apps you don't want.

Just download root explorer and after that go to /system/app find anything you want to remove but before that in the upper corner the word "r/o" r/w" mount read write to able to delete your phone must rooted.
root your phone with universal gb root flash the zip file in recovery..then mount system r/w then delete

[Q] Minimal ROM Tweaks From Stock Advice

So I just rooted my MJ5 SMN900A with Kingo so that I can switch ATT to Rogers.
I'm looking into some of the ROMS and Safestrap but I'm debating if its worth it.
I'm a fan of stock rom but I admittedly never ventured into custom ROMs with my ATT Note 2. I was never sure if I missed out on cool stuff because I always felt the risk was unnecessary.
I have my Note 3 where I want it to be app/configuration wise right now coming from stock. I don't want to lose my apps/configs if I try a custom ROM like DynamicROM. Is there anyway to do this? I notice that they all say "do a factory reset". That will wipe my apps and I really dont want that.
Or am I better off just using Titanium Backup to freeze the ATT bloatware and stick to my stock ROM? Does anyone have any additional stock ROM tips and maybe specific bloatware I should freeze on my Note 3?
There's a debloater script that removes almost all of the bloatware stuff, could flash that. I personally edited the script on mine to not delete the stuff I use, figured it'd be easier than doing like the OP said and manually downloading them later. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2587899 with default settings on it the only AT&T stuff that'll be left are Locker and My Account, not sure if those need to be there for some reason of if OP just uses them or something. They're definitely freezable without problems as far as I can tell though. After that you could replace the boot animation with the stock international one and the only visible traces of AT&T would be on the battery plate. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2502550

[Q] Creating a barebones experience

So I've got me an Atrix HD, to use as a PMP, and I've rooted it.
I've spent the better part of the day looking up custom roms, but I'm still not sure what to do.
Basically, what I want to do is have a barebones device, without 100+ services running on startup, no bloatware apps and ****, and etc.
I figure I should be using a custom ROM, yes? Is Cyanogenmod the name of a rom, because it seems to be the most popular, but there's quite a few I see on the XDA forums and I'm not sure what to do.
I have RSDlite on my computer and the Atrix HD stock firmware image, so if I screw up I should be alright since I can use that to put me back at square one, I don't think I need any recovery images on the phone then, but Can anyone give me some steps to achieve a barebones experience on for the device (want to remove all the bloatware, unnecessary background services, etc that come stock on the phone)
Any help is appreciated thanks
If you can find a ROM .img file, you can flash via adb, but it's just easier to use a custom recovery. Try Philz recovery (in dev section). I know some other devices have special ROMS without phone apps, but I haven't seen one for the AHD. Go with the most vanilla AOSP ROM you can find and install a root tool like ROM Toolbox that lets you uninstall system apps. You can freeze the phone app and any other app you don't want. If freezing doesn't mess up the device, go ahead and uninstall (at your own risk, obviously. I nor anyone else on this forum will be responsible if you mess it up). ROM Toolbox also lets you select what processes you want to run at startup. Hope this helps.
