I purchased an Atrix HD off craigslist that I then unlocked for use on tmobile. Everything worked great (At&t 4.0.4) until I flashed the KitKat rom and the 4.1.1 att NO-HLOS. Ran perfect for the most part, but after using the ROM for two days I could no longer connect to mobile data (when rom was first flashed, data worked fine). So here is the breakdown of the Rom/NON-HLOS combos i have tried
at&t 4.0.4 + at&t 4.0.4 radio = data
4.4 + at&t 4.1.1 NO-HLOS = no data
4.4 + Bell 4.1.1 NO-HLOS = no data
AOKP 4.3 + Bell 4.1.1 NO-HLOS = data for 3 hours then no data (unable to recreate)
at&t 4.1.1 + at&t 4.1.1 NO-HLOS = no data
at&t 4.1.1 + bell 4.1.1 NO-HLOS = no data
i even tried flashing back to stock 4.0.4 (via RSD lite 6.1.4) and still no data.
this is so aggravating . I made no changes prior to the issue surfacing. Any help anyone can provide is greatly appreciated.
I was under the impression that the ICS NO-HLOS didnt play nice with JB+ ROMs which is what prompted me to flash the 4.1.1 N-H.
baseband per current att 4.1.1 rom + bell 4.1.1 NO-HLOS is MB886_BP_100740.071.65.61p
NOTE: The SIM card works fine in my Nexus4 (i'm able to get 3g/H+/LTE)
are there radio imgs available for this device? could I use a radio from a different device based on the same MSM8960 chipset? would flashing one even help?
EDIT: toggling airplane mode on then off again a few times fixed this. data stays after ROM flashes!
still curious about he MSM8960 radios though, if anyone can weigh in

I'm glad that is working now, I was going to suggest you to check out this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46271659&postcount=30
But if it's working now, even better!

I had to return my phone because I couldn't connect to my network (even from nanoback restore).
What happen was few days ago I got my incredible S on a bell network for 3 years. The plan is Fab10 (1gb/200minutes/free calling for 10 numbers).
I started to do some research on how to flash to custom roms. I first rooted my phone, than found a ROM Android Revolution HD™ 1.1.7. Did a nanoback up than I finally flashed it (without the radio update). I couldn't connect to my bell network. After that I flashed the radio and still had the same issue. Google didn't show up anything, so I to restoed my nanobackup. Now the network is running, until I plugged in my USB. Network disconnected and only had WiFi. I unplugged and it still wouldn't connect, rebooted and same issue again.
This phone is only 1 day old. I go to bell, tell them the networking isn't connecting and got a (NEW) incredible s. I'm afraid of flashing to a custom rom, because my network could be disconnected.
Can any of you help me to not run into that problem again?
If I remember correctly, to flash a radio update you need to have s-off for radio as well.
could that be the reason why i lost my phone/text/3g connections.
even with stock rom restore, the network was cutting in and out. Only started happening after I flashed the rom
reading from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=867567
the stock rom contains some files that allow the 3g/mms/text etc to work. I'm on bell and not sure if they follow 850/1900mhz, compared to 2100mhz.
There should be no need to flash a new radio if your phone is android 2.3 + the only reason we were flashing radios was because a few months back our phones were shipped with 2.2 (froyo) . Most likely your phone was defective if they gave you a brand new phone (they are made in Taiwan after all).
I'm also on bell networks in Ontario I've never had a problem with connection using the current radio and your ROM
well if I flash again, I need a backup plan. Originally the guy said you have 30 days to return it.
I returned it once because it wasn't connecting to the network. Is it possible to return it again if I can't connect again?
Chances are you can if you s-off and root and flash you can always revert to stock by flashing a stock ROM
what s-off you recommend for 2.3.3 incredible s bell 3g network
I broke my old Blackberry and a buddy gave me an old Galaxy Ace that was locked to Koodoo, I have rooted, unlocked and now have the phone running on the Rogers network.
I have unlocked my phone and flashed many custom ROM's. The problem is after about 10 minutes of use, the phone drops all connectivity. THe first 10 minutes everything works, 3G, Edge, WiFi send/receive calls, send/receive mms/sms all of it is great then all of a sudden it drops everything.
Im thinking its because Im not using the right firmware/baseband. So I was wondering if someone out there has a Koodoo phone unlocked and is trying to use it on the Rogers network, which baseband are you using?
Phone = Koodoo SGA unlocked and trying to use on Rogers
ROM = CM10 nims/biel.tv nightly's
Android Version = 4.1.2
Baseband = S5830XXKPP
Hi, just to put this out there, I have searched, read, searched and read for the past 3 nights, and have not been able to find a solution...
I have a T-Mobile t879, which I unlocked to use on my At&Tplan (sorry, TMobile Service is horrible down here). I can only use edge for my data.
I know that the Phone's hardware should be able to use 3g, as the specs show it to have the same bandwidth capabilities as the i717.
I've tried downloading every AT&T modem on this site, and lost all network capabilities, so I'm back on the stock t879 modem. Is there any app, mod or settings I could use to access faster internet on AT&T's network?
BTW - I am using AOCP JB Rom, but if 100% Necessary, I will revert to the stock ROM. Had the same problem before installing JB rom.

I have had an opposite problem. I have the I717 which runs on edge when I put my t-mobile sim in. I tried using t-mobile modems(found on the xda i717 development forum) but that never really worked. When the t879 came out, I was happy to finally have a official modem that would work, but it turn out not to work for me. So I am using a i717 with t879 stock rom and a tmo modem on t-mobile which runs on edge and sit in my desk.
Did you try all the at&t modems in the I717 development forums(http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1496)?
You could also try loading the stock I717 rom which should work since I loaded the stock T879 rom on my I717.

If nothing works, my suggestion is to sell or trade your T879 for an I717.
Once in a while, I still look and play with my I717 hoping it will work on tmobile hspa+
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to look at my problems
I have a gt-i9000 which was orginally on O2 network. They unlocked for me at the end of my contract but no matter what I did I could not get my phone to accept my new three network sim.
Three replaced the first sim and I know the new one works - they got it to work in store and I've used it on an old handset of my dads.
I can get my works sim to work in the phone and connect to data with no problems.
It was suggested that I try flashing the phone with new firmware.
So I have managed over this weekend to upgrade my firmware to 2.3.6 gingerbread xxjw4
then root the phone - first attempt bootlooped it.
but second attempt worked.
I've now got it upgraded to
4.2.2
baseband : i9000XXJVT
kernel: 3.0.71- Semaphore_JB_2.9.18s
slim version : slim-4.2.2.build3-OFFICIAL
build number JDQ39
but the three sim still will not work in the phone.
So my questions are :
any other suggestions on getting the sim to work or could it be an actual fault with the handset?
I have my husbands gt-i9000 I could try and root to see if that works but that is still sim-locked to o2 and I don't know how to remove it.
I'm also considering downgrading the firmware as I am finding quite a few of my everyday apps won't run. And my data on o2 sim seems quite flakey if it connects.
Is this as simple as flashing the old firmware back on?
Thanks for your time - grateful newbie.

Long time lurker, first time poster.
Long story short, a friend gave me an I9305, however, I can't connect to a supported 3G network.
He had toyed around with the device (rooted, installed CM11), then reverted unrooted and reverted to stock firmware. When I got the device, I rooted it with Framaroot, flashed CWM 6.0.4.5, then flashed CM11 and Boeffla kernel. My SIM card was quite old and my carrier told that it doesn't support 3G, so I filed up for a new one. Ok, I got it, however..I'm yet again stuck on EDGE!!!
Tried reflashing CM11, CWM, flashed almost every radio baseband modem from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010116 to no avail. My IMEI is intact, as well as my Serial Number.
Yes, I read all threads, I tried going to Settings>Wireless&networks> More > Mobile Netwroks >Preffered Network type and checked all options. When I select 3G only, the icon goes to "H", but i can't access the web. After 10-20 seconds, the H icon dissappears and I'm forced to reboot the phone to regain my EDGE data.
At the moment, I'm running the latest Omni ROM nightly. My operator supports all 3G and LTE bands, and I got the correct APNs.
Should I flash a stock ROM and check if this does the job?
I'll greatly appreciate any help, because I'm stuck.
Wipe phone factory reset flash stock rom with modem and csc for your network.

I can't check my csc code - whenever i type a code in the dialer I get "connection timed out or invalid mmi code". The only ones that work are *#06# and *#*#4636#*#*...
Ok, so I'm running a stock 4.3 rom and STILL have no 3G....tried everything.
Anyone, help?
Maybe if you can try to downgrade to a firmware 4.1.2 via Mobile Odin and then try and access the service mode menu. From there you may be able to enable the 3G/LTE DRX (Radio) which seems to remain a permanent change in the phone once you upgrade again to 4.3.
