So I've decided that I would like to return my Nook since I have issues with it no matter the ROM. Does anyone know a thread that explains how to go back to stock?
P.s. Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Go to my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature and look at item 6. Download and flash plain stock 2.1.0 and do a factory reset.

I am going to be installing cm 10.1 sometime this week, but first I wanted to know if I would still have the barnes and noble shop app and the nook ereader software.

If you install CM10.1 to internal memory, no. It replaces stock and those things only work on stock. However there is an Android version of the Nook reader app that works on CM10.1.
But if you install CM10.1 to SD, stock is left intact and you can dual boot.

It is the Android Nook Reader app that is usually on Play Store. But unfortunately Play Store blocks installing it on the HD/HD+. The solution is to get it on the 1mobile.com store.

Thanks. Also, can you download books from barnes and noble's site for reading on the app with cm 10.1 installed?

Thanks! And last of all, could someone give me a link to a video showing how to install cm 10.1?

I concur. I used the dummies thread and I got it done on the 2nd try. It's a tad scary but if I can do it anyone can.
The app store was staying signed in until updated to CM 10.1 rc2 the other night. Not a real big deal, but a pain if I want to use a couple of apps that I got from Amazon, have to sign in to app store & leave it running in order for apps to work.
On a good note I have not had any sudden reboots since updating which is very nice.
Any suggestions on the Amazon app store issue or is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks in advanced
Mark

One of the things that was changed in both the nightlies and RC2 is a setting in /system/build.prop called dalvik.vm.heapsize. It was changed to help the Kindle app. It was changed to a value of 402M for the HD+ and 384M for the HD. You can try changing it to 512M to see if that helps.
Edit: I just went back and looked at the prior HD setting and it was at 384M before, so I doubt that is the issue. But it won't hurt to try the new setting.

That fixed it for me. Also Kindle app seems to be fine. I'm not a Kindle app user and just tried various things and they all seemed to work. Maybe if you install with 402m and then set it back to 512m that makes it work ok????
I"m on emmc 10.2 and have SDswap with a 64GB SD
UPDATE WORKED FOR AWHILE LIKE MAYBE 20 MINUTES AND ASKED FOR LOGIN AGAIN

Tried it before I seen your update and it didn't work.
Oh well, not a real big deal any way.
If I come across anything else I will let you know.

I had the problem with the Amazon appstore not staying logged in with 10.1.3RC2. I reverted to an earlier version (7/12, Unofficial, in my case) without doing a reset (I did wipe cache in CWM). It seems to be back to normal. I also had problems connecting to network shares with BS Player over SMB in the RC2 version. That was fixed by reverting too. I didn't see any other network issues.
Fixed in latest nightley
Looks like the issue has been resolved in the latest 9/8 Nightly :good:

Can I just overwrite the 9/8 with rc2 to go back like it was?
Rather have Google stuff then amazon

Thanks, that got most of Google stuff working, but Keep & Play Music.
Beginning to think taking care of Amazon app store was not worth it.
Can I just overwrite the rc2 over the nightly I installed?
I am now getting error message about Android keyboard has stopped working. I use SwiftKey anyway, but the error message is a pain
Once again thanks for the help

Yes, but you need to go back to the right gapps too. When you were running 9/8, you had the correct version of gapps installed, right? CM10.2 takes a different version than RC2.

Isn't 9/8 CM10.2? That needs 20130813. That was probably why your gapps were acting up on 9/8.

oops, I think that is what happened. I used my backup and restored it like it was before I put the 10.1 rc2 on.
Need to quit doing things that require thinking. When I am tired, but if I haven't learned my lesson by now I probably won't :sly:
Thanks for your time
Much appreciated.

Was just wondering if anyone has a fix for CM 10.1 rc2 and Amazon app store yet ?

I see that CM 11 nightly is available for the Nook HD and was wondering what the best way would be to go with 11 from CM 10.2, also do I need to upgrade the Google Apps? I am sure I do, but where can I find it at?
I will be doing a backup in case I need to revert back to 10.2 for sure
Thanks for any help you can provide me in making the change.

You need to need to go to verygreen's CM11 thread for instructions. The old CWM versions will not work. Look in the dev forum.

ok thanks
Hi guys, I hope you can help me. I installed CM11 to my Nook HD+ following the thread [EMMC CM11 install - updated 01/18] I am having some problems and wanted to go back to stock Nook 2.2.0. The problem is I don't know how, I am more lost than when I first started. If this has been asked before I apologize, I looked through the forum and didn't see a fix, or if I did I missed it. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. I don't think I made a backup of the stock Nook 2.2.0 though.
The best way to get back to stock is to go to my HD/HD+ CWM thread linked in my signature and make a new bootable CWM SD per item 1a there and use that to flash the plain stock 2.2.0 zip from item 6. Follow that with a factory reset with CWM. That should make it completely stock.

Thank you so very much leapinlar, I am back on stock now. Think I will stick to CM10 for a bit, thanks again leapinlar for your help its very much appreciated. After reading your thread I understand the process a lot better now, I wont be going in blind like I was installing CM11. Thanks again mate.
