Hey, guys. I'm running an XT1058 that I got from Telcel carrier down here in Mexico. Checked online and the bootloader isn't unlockable. Anyone know anything about Carriers here? Or do I get it direct from Motorola?

I also have the Moto X from Telcel. I just checked online and I'm able to unlock my device without any problem. Are you sure you are copying the unlock key correctly?
Please tell me this is a joke >.<
Getting Moto X exactly in a month from now and as a flashoholic don't want to have any of those problems. Completely sure all XT1058 are BL unlockable?

Sorry about that everyone. False alarm. I simply had to make sure there were no spaces in between the strings (had spaces when copies directly from terminal). Thanks all!

Hello everybody,
I am totally new with the unlocking bootloader/rooting process (except for my Memopad 7 ME572C that I rooted just by using an .apk). So I hope my question won't look to stupid and that it's not already answered. I browsed the guide thread which was a great help !
I understood the main process, unlocking bootloader, then every step to get to the root but here is the question :
I couldn't find any CWM recovery (listed here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/development/xt10xx-philz-touch-t2612149) that would be compatible with my device. Here is the information about my phone :

If no dedicated CWM recovery is avalaible, would another do the job ?
Thanks !
Nearly all the root processes for a 2013 X with unlocked bootloader suggests using TWRP.
Download the latest TWRP Recovery from -> http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/234 (under the Download-Fastboot heading)
Hey Waxa93!
Did you ever get your Moto XT1052 Rooted? I've got the same phone on 4.4.4 and am pretty confused as to whether our bootloader is even unlockable?

Yes, you should be able to unlock the XT1052 bootloader.

Thanks a lot KidJoe! I actually have a vague memory of reading that post quite some time ago and chickening out due to the warranty void. Think it's time to take the plunge. Thanks again!
I have an unlocked Phone running on VZW. Should I expect that at some point I will get VoLTE.....or should I just return it while I can and get a VZW version?

Did that a month ago. Waiting for the update 5.1 to be able to use it

Running stock 5.1 now on motorola-purchased phone. My VZW account is provisioned for "advanced calling" but not seeing it function on the phone at this point. I know my Droid Turbo was pushed a VZW update when VoLTE was available. I assume that is not supposed to be the process on a N6.

Try following the instructions in these threads. I have it currently working on 5.1

http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/general/verizon-volte-problem-solution-t3052877
Also the VoLTE feature only works for Verizon to Verizon calling and with other phones that have the feature. The best part of the update is the simultaneous Voice/Data capabilities.
I buy the new nexus from amazon and have this phone no signal.
When I input my sim card in my phone (no service)

Did you buy the right model number for your country. If have North American version may not have the radio band for your area.
Maybe he needs to edit his APN?

I cant even find standalone firmware for april.
Just going to have to wait. US & carrier variants usually get them later than international. From what I noticed, usually it's the unbranded F models that get em first, followed by N, then the U, then the 9500. Also depending on US carrier variants, some carrier U variants may get them before unlocked variants.
I have a Pixel 4 XL from my friend,it's Verizon version. It's lock bootloader can not open OEM check. But it's unlocked sim,Can i unlock bootloader from Verizon ? I tested factory reset and insert another simcard ,it's have signal but can not open OEM.
Sorry for my English
No, Verizon has it set up with Google so that all of the Pixel 4 and 4 XLs sold through Verizon have locked bootloaders that cannot be unlocked.

The answer to your question is NO! Do some basic research and you will quickly realize what you want is not possible. You purchased the wrong phone variant if you want to unlock the bootloader.
As other said, you cannot unlock the bootloader on a Verizon 4XL at this time. Might be possible in the future through an exploit bit not likely.
