I get my MB886,yesterday. The first thing I do is change the moto recovery to the touchrecovry. Then I enter into the recovery, formating system cache and data, then I do a dual wipe. After this,I flash the BatakangROM_AtrixHD_1.10.zip,and it's successfully installed. But when restarting the system,it stays in the red moto screen. In the end, I flash the rooted JB ROM. But I want to flash a clean third part ROM.Who can tell me how to deal with it? is there something to do with the BatakangROM_AtrixHD_1.10.zip to fit my MB886?
This is the Recovery for MB886
I download it from gfan。com
flash with fastboot, unlocked bootloader is needed
help me to solve the problem, please!
Batakang most likely needs to be installed with Safestrap recovery.

Wait wait what? If you wanna flash stock, flash it with RSD and get the firmware from the stock thread somewhere here. That works.

I just got a notification that there was a system update for my phone. I'm running a rooted, but otherwise stock phone. When it downloads and reboots it goes to the recovery menu instead of updating. Is there something that I need to do to get this to install?

Do you have the stock recovery or is it custom. You have to be on stock ROM and stock Recovery in order to OTA. You may lose root, but being rooted will not affect the OTA installing.
Ah, that may be the problem. I have TWRP installed, so does that mean that I'll have to flash a rom that's been updated?
Thanks!

You have to flash stock recovery at least. Some people were having luck just flashing the stock recovery and some were having to relock the bootloader as well. I tried flashing the stock recovery and running the update but it failed. I don't really want to relock my bootloader and lose all my data when I unlock it again, so I'm holding off for now.

That is because you have an unlocked bootloader. A stock ROM that you got via running an RUU won't boot up because of the unlocked bootloader. (that or you didn't flash boot.img) I would suggest running Android Revolution HD or tpbklake's stock ROM. Both can be found in the development section for the Incredible S.
Thanks or can i download one from hdev and install will it work ?

If you download the RUU from HTCDEV.com, you will need to relock your bootloader before you run the RUU.

Thankz,By the way.. i have suggested that i could also flash pre rooted stock and den 201 kernel.. any ideas on that?
@ OP You have Q&A so quit PM me and ask all your questions here
The quick answer is yes - use your recovery to back up your rooted stock ROM. If you don't like CM simply return to your back up - it will still be rooted.
Alternatively, you have an unlocked bootloader - so you can flash Doomlord's kernel immediately after returning to stock (the kernel is insecure meaning you can flash a supersu zip in recovery to get root again).
Doomlord's latest kernels are decent and I can recommend Williams kernel too - as good as stock.
