purple hues in replacement from assurion - Sprint HTC One (M7)

just got my replacement last week from assurion. went into the camera and crap...i got purple hues.
question is, will assurion replace it because of this issue or do i have to send it to htc?

I just sent mine to HTC to be repaired. Asurion will just send you another one that probably has the same issue.

All I did was run the factory RUU and relocked it, and I left it S-off and they didn't say anything. I sent it in on the 19th, they received it on the 20th and it was fixed and sent back out on the 22nd. Just waiting for it to get here now. They send you a free overnight FedEx label to send it in too.

Yeah, I called them and said my HTC one has the purple hue problem and he took my info and within about 15 minutes I received the FedEx label to send it to them. Very simple and easy process. 1-866-449-8358 is the number for the US.

HTC One with major light-bleed ...

Just got in my dev edition M7 earlier today (04-22-13).
Phone is very beautiful, well built and almost seem perfect until a few minutes ago whiles I was laying in bed playing around with it, when I notice the long light-bleed coming from the lower right corner.
I was like NOO this is not happening!!! After having waited for so long.
It is really annoying because of the length and brightness of the bleed.
Tomorrow I will definitely call up HTC or LetsTalk for a replacement.
See pics.
Hope no one else has had this major defect.
Link to the unit I got today ....
https://picasaweb.google.com/100693731613176583412/HTCOneM7_dev?authuser=0&feat=directlink
I also tried taking a video, but it didn't get captured so well. See link ...

Wow that's pretty bad. I am sure you will get a replacement. That really sucks though.
I am going to use this phone for a month before I unlock the bootloader. Just in case something happens and it's defective.

i just checked mine and i do not have any bleed. I also played the HD dark knight trailer and no bleed confirmed. *phew* ....
Did you drop it or bang it against something. In that last picture I can't tell if that's a smudge or a chip in the glass on the edge of the display in the area.
No. All I did was unbox the phone, took some photos of the phone to post online. Then I immediately put it inside a clear case. Next I went through the setup and only when I was passed that I noticed the light from the corner.
It was handled like a new born baby from the moment it came out from the box .

Def get it replaced that's not normal at all there should be no light bleed at all. What is your batch # build date? Should be like FA345 or like SH etc it's on the box that the unit came in on the bottom part.

Time will tell; it looks like more and more people are complaining about case separation issues as they use them for a few days/weeks.
I'll tell you what I saw: a demo at a store that had been handled a lot (no scratches or dents, so probably not abused), but it looked like hell -- the case was coming apart all around the seams!!
HTC has compromised a lot of things in the last couple of years, and I think they have really compromised build quality now. It might look good brand new, but they don't seem to hold up under normal use like their earlier phones did.
We'll see.
Well I got a prepaid RMA from letstalk and it left this morning for Thursday delivery. Lets see how long the wait will be for a replacement to get out and if an RMA depends on preorders vs stock availability.

I did a cross shipment this morning too. Did you get your shipping e-mail? I was told that they wouldn't know when they would ship mine out.
I don't know what a cross shipment is, but the phone was sent back to letstalk today. Process the RMA directly from their website. It's due for arrival on Thursday. Guess until then I wouldn't be hearing from them. But I will call once I know they receive the defective phone.
Just got off the phone with them after waiting over an hour, they made the shipping label yesterday and will be shipping overnight today. So I should have the replacement by tomorrow.
Called a few minutes ago and the lady said they would have to charge me again if they did a cross shipment. In any case there isn't any phones available until Friday she informed me.
Update: 04-26-2013
Was on a chat with rep from letstalk about my RMA, and was told the following ...
Candra: The exchange order will be processed after the rest of the preorders are being fulfilled once the phones are in stock.
Bernard: serious? that's not fair. I had my pre-order from the 6th ... now I must wait much longer because I received a defective phone?
Candra: We still have orders from the 5th that haven't been fulfilled. I do apologize but these orders do need to be processed first.
Well, from the looks of things, it seems like I might get my replacement in a few weeks!

PSA: check for dead pixels

Just as a heads up to all the new Nexus owners, and to future owners: check for dead pixels, immediately and a few hours later. Just a few minutes ago, I had one rear its ugly head. Call Google and they'll do an advance replacement no questions asked.
Annoying, but hey.

That's good to know at least, thanks for the information.
It's not a nice situation, but at least they are taking ownership.
I think I found one. Thanks for the tip. It's so small though! Is it really worth it to request a replacement? I have no idea how the process works, but I'm not sure I want to deal with returning this one and waiting for a new one.

Generally an "Advanced Replacement" Implies that they either cross ship, you a new one as soon as yours is in the mail, or they send you the box to ship the old one back when they send the new one out. Can't really speak to which way Google is doing it. But hopefully someone who's started the process can provide better details.

With the N4, they would put a charge on your credit card while they send out the replacement. Then you put your phone in the replacement's box and ship back with the prepaid label. When they get it back they remove the charge. I believe the hold charge was $200.
How are you even spotting pixels, a magnifying glass? Lol

This is what they're doing, they give you a link to order a replacement where they place a hold charge on a card. They give you a pre-paid shipping label and tell me I'm free to ship the device back to them whenever and in the box it came in. So, I'll wait until I receive my replacement before shipping the defective device out.

:cyclops: I have good eyes, lol. When I saw this thread I used a dead pixel locating app that simply shows solid colors on the screen. My dead pixel is located around the top right corner. The pixels are so small I can't really imagine how I'd ever notice a problem during any normal use.
You can unstick some pixels (not dead pixels) by re-energizing them through rapidly turning them on and off. There are apps on Google play that you can test and unstick (some) pixels, or you can return the phone.

Then get an advance swap. Use the existing one for however many weeks it takes, and then send your original back after the new one arrives.
Might help to unlock the bootloader now, so that when it's time for the swap you can take a nandroid backup and preserve your app data. Relock and flash to stock after backing up and before you send it back in.
Update: all replacement orders are placed on the same queue as everyone else. My replacement device is set to leave the warehouse in 2-3 weeks, and according to my receipt, I have 21 days from the day my replacement order was placed to ship my defective device back to Google.
Conclusion? I'll be without a Nexus 5 for an undetermined amount of time. Luckily I still have my old HTC One, but this is something you'll want to know, especially if you don't have a backup device.

That's what I thought, but I called to double check and the representative confirmed that the email wording is correct: it's 21 days from the day the replacement order is placed. Obviously I was miffed, but she told me there's nothing I can do and that the best she can advise is to wait as long as possible before sending out my defective phone.
Annoying.
Edit: I emailed the representative I spoke to last night for clarification. The woman on the phone today seemed to think what we all thought (that the 21 days starts from the day of receipt of the replacement), so perhaps there's some confusion as to the official modus operandi. I'll report back whenever he gets back to me.

Normally I would consider doing something like this, but given Google's track record, I have no confidence that stock levels will be restored anytime soon. As I said before, luckily I have my HTC One to fall back on, but I'll still hold onto my 5 for a week. I was reading the defects thread and it seems people are getting RMA devices faster than those who order normally despite what the Play page tells.

With my Nexus 7 3G, it took over a week for the replacement to arrive and then I was out of town for two weeks before I could pick up the package as it missed delivery on the day of my flight out. By the time I sent it in, it was slightly beyond three weeks. I was never charged extra. I phoned Google to be sure, and they said that if they charge me and then end up receiving the device back after all, they will reverse the charge.

Issues ordering black front

Anyone else having issues trying to order the moto x with specifications of the black front? Is the black front not in stock anymore? Every time I try to order, the website says some things in your cart are no longer in stock.

I was lucky because they had a blue 64gb in stock ready to ship. They asked what color I wanted and I said I don't care as long as its a 64gb. They said OK they only have blue so they sent me that one. I have a blue one now so that's fine, but I think it's funny how they would have happily sent me a white one if it was in stock.

I didn't have to pay anything they send you a label so you can send the old one back. I don't know if its new or not because I get mine tomorrow via FedEx,however I would assume it's refurbished unless they don't have any refurbished ones yet then it will likely be new. Either way not worried because they sent it out fast, free, and it was easy to get replaced. I also have moto care should I actually break my phone accidentally which seems to be a good idea considering it's size. I'll report back tomorrow when my phone arrives, hopefully in the morning because you need to sign for it in person.
Mine was brand new.

Was happy that I finally got my phone in, untill I powered it up and notice there is a yellow tint band right in the middle of the screen vertically.. I was hoping this wouldnt happen because with my luck I always get a phone with an issue like that.

OnePlus offers a 15 day no questions asked, hassle free, full refund on their phones (and accesories that have not been opened). You only pay for shipping after filing for an RMA ticket with their customer service.
It takes a couple of weeks to get the refund, but you'll get it as long as it passes inspection from any of their authorized service centers that your phone ends up in.
Hope this helps.

It takes a couple of weeks to get the refund, but you'll get it as long as it passes inspection from any of their authorized service centers that your phone ends up in.
Hope this helps.

Was happy that I finally got my phone in, untill I powered it up and notice there is a yellow tint band right in the middle of the screen vertically.. I was hoping this wouldnt happen because with my luck I always get a phone with an issue like that.
I mean the yellow band isn't notice off that bat but when u have a grey or darkish background u can see it.
I'm debating to send it back and get fustrated waiting for it again...

A screenshot won't show you anything, you need to take a picture of the phone's screen.
Other user(s) experienced this issue ?

The LG Nexus 5 had that a few years ago because of the glue behind the screen that was still drying. Me personaly i see no yellow band, tested with Display Tester app.

That was not my point,i know what the cause is, I had it on my one plus one, and oneplus 3. But you were talking about a screenshot, a screenshot will be 100% perfect, even when the screen is completely broken, you have to take a picture of the screen with another camera. A display tester app won't work either. It's all theoretical info.
OP, thanks for pointing out. I made my decision to not buy this phone if they still can't manage to do it right.
