[Solved] Paranoid Android not working... - LG Optimus 2x

So I have the CWM recovery installed, Had CM10.1 before and rebooted into
recovery then proceed to wipe data/factory reset, Wipe cache & Dalvik cahe
then finally "format/system"...
After that I flashed Paranoid Android "pa_p990-2.6-14-oldbl-tonyp" by Tonyp
as the zip name tells, Then flashed the aroma gapps v4 from this thread;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1960483
After all this I'm supposed to be able to use Paranoid Android whit no problem
but the phone will just sit there forever on the Paraonoid Android logo, So in
other words it's stuck in a bootlop...
I followed the instrunction on installation from Tonyps official thread here;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2097807&highlight=rom
No matter how many times I wipe anything/everything or how many times I
flash the rom+gapps following the instructions there, It simply doesn't boot...
I can install and run CM10.1 just fine as much as I want but Paranoid Android
simply refuses to boot... Also I'm in old bootloader and I did download and
flash the version for old bootloaders...
For now I'm flashing Paranoid Android + v3 Gapps from the thread in the first
link since it mentions it's for CM10 based roms and Paranoid Android it's based
on CM10...
I'll edit If I get this solved before getting any reply, Thanks in advance!

Help no longer needed, Figured Tonyp discontinued "Paranoid Android" for the optimus 2x
or something and just went and flashed his most recent rom "The ROM" which seems to
be essentially a better version of "Paranoid Android".
Works like a charm! Just had convert the rom to old bootloader whith cygwin terminal and
flash it after a wipe.
Sorry for the trouble guys!

[Q]Hard Bricked Help

Hello, I've recently tried installing Topogigi's ICS v30a ROM from ParanoidAndroid. During the process, I've upgraded CWM to 6.0.1.2 and performed a full dalvik, cache and data wipe on my phone. I first tried installing Topogigi's ICS v30a ROM using an earlier version of CWM without any success however after upgrading to a newer version of CWM and installing the rom, my phone appears to be hard bricked. Once I turn on the phone, the LG logo appears and then it shuts down within seconds. Entering recovery mode only gives me a blank screen. Any ideas?
EDIT: got it fixed by installing a new baseband thing (don't fully understand it 3 using this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1008070
EDIT: Can't get the new custom rom to install, tried deleting all the data from paranoid android and it still boots up as paranoid android. Please help!
you best bet is to do a full NVflash install then update using CWM,
try this following directions in the OP, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2007968
then update using topo's V30a.
the NVflash is a unbrickable solution. make sure you install the drivers for the phone you can get them in this pack http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975274&highlight=apx+drivers
then do the directions in Topo's OP and you should be running a pretty decent version of V30a.
let me know if you get stuck anywhere.
Hello necrowakker,
Thanks for your help, I've installed nvflash however I haven't a clue how to flash this rom using nvflash. I can't find the .bat file inside, only a boot.img and system.img file. I've downloaded version 1.1 of topogigi's rom and tried flashing with CWM 6.0.1.5 after doing a full data, cache and dalvik wipe but without any success.
Thanks again for your help!

[Q] Status 7 error on installing CM 10.1

Hi fellows,
I need your guidance and expert advice in resolving a situation, I have ran into recently. I was trying to install CM10.1 on my brother's galaxy Note GT-N7000 international version which was running official ICS 4.0.4.
Since, I had experience in installing different ROMs on my Galaxy S2, Nexus 7 and Xperia Arc so I was not worried about it being a big deal. So, I followed the procedure described in this page http://techgoneinsane.blogspot.com/2012/08/installing-cm10-on-galaxy-note-n7000.html?m=1 and used Odin and file from 'speedmod' to gain root access and flash CWM which was successful. Then, as planned, I tried update zip in the CWM recovery for CM10.1 nightly. But, I came across error 'Status 7' installation aborted. This was new to me, so I tried few things like 'factory reset', wipe data etc and even tried installing stock ROM ICS XXLRK which was previously installed but no avail. I tried several other ROMs like stable CM9 and other nightlies but no success. The phone is stuck on the boot Samsung logo with yellow triangle. However, I'm able to go in the recovery and download mode.
Upon doing couple of Google searches, I came to know, quite a number of people have faced this error by I couldn't understand the fix properly so can anyone of you please guide me for the solution. Thanks.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

If you are on Speedmod's recovery (which is safe), you can try this:
1) Download the latest CM10.1 kernel and save it to your SD card.
2) Flash it in Recovery (Install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard), then reboot in the new Recovery (advanced > reboot recovery).
3) Do a full wipe (even format preload and system in "mounts")
3) Flash the latest CM10.1 build
4) Flash the 4.2.2 Gapps
5) Do a data wipe / factory reset
6) Reboot
You got a yellow triangle because you flashed an unofficial kernel through Odin. To get rid of it, use TriangleAway.
Good luck!

You're welcome. Glad I could help . If you feel like it, hit the Thanks button on Chasmodo's first message in the repository (where you downloaded your CM10.1 kernel). He really deserves it. You may also want to do the same on Entropy's first post in the unofficial CM10.1 thread :good: That way, you'll show your support and appreciation .

[Q] New rom results in LG logo stuck

Heey all,
Because of a release of android ICS I wanted to install a new rom. I used MIUI, and wanted to try cyanogenmod 10.1. So what I did: I downloaded the cyanogenmod, put it on the external SD. Afterwards I went into recovery mode, backed up current rom, wipe wipe data/factory reset, wipe dalvik cache. After that I tried to install the rom by selecting rom from external SD. It says update, an after a minute it says completed. So I restarted my phone, and it got stuck.
I tried some other roms, but same results. I also tried to restore backup, but somehow it didn't work, and fails. I've tried to update CWM to version 6, but that didn't resolve my problem.
So, at this point I have:
- CWM 6
- MIUI rom 2.3, 4.1
- Cyanogenmod 10.1 (nightly), 7.2
- Some more rom's, just for trying...
- A phone (LG Optimus 2x (P990)), wich only loads LG logo, and got stuck.
I hope someone could help me out!
Edit:
I can however load the MIUI 4.1 somehow, but no other rom there is I can install...

If I understood you right, you might be still in the old bootloader....use the All In One Tool kit by Spyrosk
if you are already rooted, CWM and in ICS partition layout with unlocked bootloader....then format your system, make all the three wipes and try to flash the CM ROM again. Dont forget the gapps(ofcourse optional)
Hope that helps you my friend

[Q] Can't install any ROM (Slim Bean, CM10)

I really was checking the whole internet to find the solution for this but I couldn't find it (I'm a begginer so that might be the problem).
Problem is this.
I have a Samsung I9000 with rooted Gingerbread (BOJV9). I have rooted it with the CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVZ-v4.3 KERNEL.
So now my phone has a Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9000XWJVZ-CL762604 [email protected] #2.
And the next thing that I wanted was to install the Slim Bean 4.2.2. So I went to the CWM recovery and I have done the wipe of cache, dalvik cache and data/factory reset. everything went ok and fast. then I went to install the Slim Bean and started the install but just when it started, showed on the screen that it is instaling updates, phone just reseted, and Semaphore logo showed up, and was standing there for 10minutes. So I googled and saw that that was some kind of error. So I went CWM recovey and it had a new look because the version changed (from v3 to v6 I think) but I couldnt find data on my external SD card, as if it was deleted, but it was not, the data was there. Then I found this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494493 and was able to start the phone by flashing it with the original I9000 rom, and then installed the CWM again and then i returned my backup that I made of my phone. Then I started again to install Slim Bean again but this time I got an error at the wipe dalvik cache saying E:unknown volume for path. Now I dont know what could be the problem but please can you help me. Should I first install some other custom rom or should I put the rom files on to the I9000 memory or what. I am really confused
Also the same thing happend when I tried to install CM10. it starts the installation but it restarts after few seconds.
Files that I have used
Slim-I9000-4.2.2.build.3-OFFICIAL.rar
cm-10.0.0-galaxysmtd
Anyone? Help?
Do what you did again till the recovery changes to v6 as you said & then flash the slim bean or any other rom again... it will work.
Good luck

You need to follow flashing guide , look in wiki according to ROM you have chosen or My Android Solutions (link below) to get out of Boot Loops

Well actually, that is the exactly step the ROM needed to be installed as stated on the thread. Actually, that is how I install all other custom rom. Never found any other way to install the ROM. But for some reasons it keep bootlopping. Stop the bootlooping is easy. Just flash the stock ROM. But that's not what I want. I want to use the custom ROM. FYI. I tried 2 ROMS and both of them behave the same. Bootloop.

Can you point to me which Custom ROM you are trying to install and where it tells you to format system? Also you must understand certain i9001 ROM's need specific CWM and will be mentioned on developers thread..using others would fail. So refer to i9001 Wiki, as its one of the best guide for i9001
Look at what the wiki says
CyanogenMod 10.1 (Based on Android 4.2.2 / Jelly Bean) It's developed by AriesveDevConnection Team
Thread : CyanogenMod 10.1
All major components of the i9001 work except for FM radio.
Installation:
Before you install CM10.1: Preparation (First three are optional. If you want to start fresh, these can be skipped)
Install AppBak from Market, run it and save a list of all your apps.
Install SMS Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your SMS history.
Install Call Logs Backup and Restore from Market, run it and backup your call log history.
Boot into CWM5 recovery. Make a full backup. You will need this backup later if you decide to go back to your previous ROM and data.
WARNING: Many apps will Force Close crash if you restore data from a previous ROM.
Use CWM 5.5.0.4 Flashable zip version | Odin version OR CWM 6.0.3.2 with safe kernel (no EMMC bug)
For Odin version of CWM 5.5.0.4, flash recovery-clockwork-5.5.0.4-ariesve.tar.md5 as One Package using the regular AriesVE.ops (Tutorial)
WARNING: Only use this recovery to flash CM10.1, otherwise, you risk bricking your phone!
CyanogenMod10.1 comes as a zip that is installed inside recovery. Download the latest build and put the zip file into the sdcard.
Wipe data / Factory Reset
Wipe cache
Advanced > Wipe dalvik cache
Install zip from sdcard (choose cm-10.1-20130607-dev_connection_team-release1-ariesve.zip)
Flash the gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip
You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM10 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
Reboot phone.
After you setup your Google account, reinstall the three apps from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
WARNING: Do not restore backup data of system apps!
If you restore a bad backup with cached settings in telephony.db in data/data/com.*.*.telephony it can break MMS.
It seems that restoring backups can also break Calendar sync.
Notes:
Upgrades from previous versions of CM10.1 are the same process as install, except you do not need to wipe anything. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to even wipe cache and dalvik-cache when upgrading between CM10.1 versions. You only need to wipe if you are doing a major upgrade, switching to a different ROM entirely, or attempting to fix bugs caused by bad backups or corrupt app data.
Under CyanogenMod 10.1, your external SD card can be found under /storage/sdcard1
Reboot into recovery from power menu not working?
Turn off "touch sounds" option in sound settings.
No Developer options & Performance setting?
Tap Build number for 7 times in Settting > About phone
Want to see something fun? CM10.1 has an easter egg that can be activated in System Settings -> About phone. Click the "Android version 4.2.2 / CyanogenMod version" entry several times very fast. The screen will clear and show an Android JellyBean / CyanogenMod icon. Click and hold on the JellyBean / CyanogenMod icon. It will zoom in and activate a lots of flying JellyBean / CyanogenMod icon.

Hope it helps
