Find in www and download Gingerbread 2.3.3 for Israel region if you liked it, and flash it with Odin version 1.82 . Samsung mobile driver must be pre-installed in your PC (you can make sure it works even with locked phone), Kies process must be dead (if Samsung Kies is installed).
Her is a thread with step by step guide and all download links working (in the opening post):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2444308
EDIT: for the case your 2.3.3 ROM will have just one "tar" file (not CSC, Phone and PDA) it doesn't matter, just run Odin as admin, put that single file under "PDA", start your i9000 in download mode, connect, if recognized- flash. After few minutes you'll have it working

[Q] HELP: Froyo screwed my galaxy S!

Guys,
Just updated to froyo 2.2 but i didn't remove the lag fix before hand...
now my galaxy S is just stuck on the S loading screen and never loads.
For some reason ive never been able to enter recovery using the volume+home+power button, the only way was through command prompt SDK
Now my obviously problem is, i can't boot the phone so can't reboot into recovery that way.
HELP!
goto samfirmware and download your original firmware with bootloader.
Flash via odin and it should boot you straight into recovery.
Or check out the post I just commented on in this same section.
Cheers,
BS...
Hi - can't see the bootloader on that site :S
they should all come with a bootloader, just download your original firmware.
download odin v1.3, beside the firmware you are downloading should be a PIT number.
Goto the bottom of the page and download that pit number.
Open Odin, and set your pit and pda.
Then set your phone to download mode,
connect, flash, and you should boot directly into recovery
I can't enter download mode. neither 3 button mode works, never has done, can't use up or down for recovery or download.
The only way i've ever been able to get into a recovery console was through ADB.exe which requires the phone to be booted lol.
hmm... lol I dont know man. you might need to return your phone :-(

Reboot with the up button on the left, the right one, and the home one.
and then full factory reset, and cache clean.
then reboot and wait
Exact same problem here ... not luck through ADB or FASTBOOT. Stuck!
I have the same issue. Please help.
Same here...I cant get into recovery mode with the 3-button solution
I killed my SGS by installing the new JP6 without removing the OCLF first! I've had no three button recovery option for yonks. After much faffing, I managed to sort it.
Here comes the science bit:
Download JG5 from here. Use the ROMraid link in the Requirements section
Use Odin with the pit, PDA, MODEM and CSC files, not forgetting to tick repartition
This will get you back to 2.1, without a lagfix. Now install the newly released Froyo and enjoy.
Cheers,
BS...
It's an utter nightmare not being able to get into recovery/download. think i'm gonna have to send it off

The links worked for me just now...
would you mind sending me the direct link? atcasanova at gmail dot com
thx in advance.
My phone was bricked 1 month ago (no download mode, stuck immediately on power on), I didn't send it back to Samsung but I used Riff JTag to repair it and now it's running perfectly.

Just try the ROMraid link under Requirements....
It does have a stupid captcha question but it eventually worked for me..
I can't post the link as it only seems to work when you click it from that webpage.

Damn! I'm clicking that link, witch directs me to "coblitz codeen org www romraid com paul galaxys JG5.zip"
i've tried just "www romraid com paul galaxys JG5.zip" and it redirects me to modaco dot com
What do i have to do to download it?????????
Hi, i finally completed the download, had to change some DNS and routes using some proxies
So, I'm really new to android, and i've got a few questions
1) how am i supposed to flash my Galaxy S if i can't turn it on to make my pc recognize it?
2) Brownstone mentioned PDA, CSC and MODEM files. In JG5.zip I have: CODE, CSC and MODEM files. And Odin asks me PDA, PHONE and CSC.
So how will I fill in Odin's fields?
PDA = CODE_I9000XWJG5.tar
PHONE = MODEM_I9000XXJG1.tar
CSC = CSC_I9000XXJG4.tar
??
is that correct?

Tab freezing and rebooting after update

Here's my problem:
My Galaxy Tab was running some italian stock rom with root when i bought it (second hand) and i wanted to change it to stock swedish so i used spooffw and updated through kies. Everything seemed to go well but now (before even installing any apps) it freezes and then reboots very very often (like every 20 minutes). Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be and what i could do?
Did you do factory reset wipe via CWM? if no, please try that first. If problem still occurs,
you may want to flash again, try the following steps:
On your computer,
download firmware at: http://fus.nanzen.se/
(from Hoffighter's posting) http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1350960
Download Check Fus Downloader 2.1, using the Check Fus Downloader, download the Firmware you want (P1000XWJJ3 for GT-P1000 Sweden). It will automatically decode the .enc2 file to.zip file
Extract the .zip file generated from decoding file to a folder and you will get
.tar.md 5 file.
Download Odin3 1.85 (search "odin3 1.85" in XDA Dev forum)
open Odin3 1.85, attach the .md5 file to the PDA field on Odin.
(Leave pit, phone, and CSC blank, uncheck re-partition)
On your G-Tab:
Go to download mode (Press and hold Power Button + Volume Down at the same time until your phone restart and you can see download mode screen).
Connect your G-Tab to your computer's USB,
and on your computer, click start on Odin - It should finish flashing in 2-4 minutes.
Once flash successful, your G-Tab will be automatically rebooted. Unplug your G-Tab from your computer immediately.
Let me know if you have any question following above steps - or if you can't find any of the things I ask you to download.
Good luck.
Thanks for your reply and for those easy to follow steps! It's flashing right now, i'll come with an update later when i've tried it out for some time.
Edit: As it happened most often with google maps navigation (like every 10-20 minutes) i just tried that and after 12 minutes i got a reboot with my newly flashed firmware. Any other ideas what it could be?
Edit 2: Decided to try a custom rom and thought i'd have a go at Overcome, before installing it i flashed stock safe v5 as they recommended, i thought that i'd try this for a short time to see if its working better and it does. No reboots using navigation for nearly an hour. So my question now is what are the downside of not using the swedish firmware but using this (XXJQ1) instead?
Edit 3: After having tried 3 different roms (the swedish stock, XXJQ1 and XXJQ8 2.3.6) and only having problems with the swedish one (flashed several times and tried it and same problems everytime) i've decided to stay with another rom. Now i would like help to choose which one. XXJQ8 would be nice but i had wifi problems, read about other having the same, so i want some european stock that hasn't got any land specific apps (Like XXJQ1 has some italian apps and so on). Does anyone know a stock rom that hasn't?
Glad you worked it out. There is no downside choosing non swedish rom except for custom apps that you rarely use or you can find in market.
I am using this custom ROM based on German rom and very happy about it fasr smooth good battery life and ice cream sandwich theme. You can try, but as always at your own risk:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1409469
---------- Post added at 09:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:22 AM ----------
If wifi is the only problem, and you are happy with stock rom you can try this attached modem for JQ8 Rom:
JPZ-modem.zip, flash itfrom recovery mode. (Of course you need to root your G-Tab first).
I was really impressed with that custom rom you recommended, everything is smooth and i can actually watch flash streams in 720p BUT wifi disconnects and reconnects all the time, even when trying the modem you suggested. I know that its about the dhcp settings in my router set to forever but unfortunately i have to use that so 2.3.6 just doesn't work for me. I guess i'll have to use one of the 2.3.3 stock roms.
Big thanks for all your help yappoe.

That diagram you had is the same thing as the download mode. So treat it as such and flash your rom and kernel normally and it should work. I had the same problem before. To be sure, tried the following thread. Go to the 3rd post in this thread and follow the installation instruction. It will work. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382055
I get that every now and then too. I reinstall the drivers (included with Kies), and reboot the computer. After that it will work.

Does ODIN still recognize your Tab? If you are upgrading from froyo to gingerbread, you may need to load new PIT file as well as new dbdata.rfs.
If ODIN still recognize your Tab, try to download your choice of firmware again with PIT file included. I'll attach a working PIT for you.
Note: Please extract the attached file to get the .PIT file and put it on PIT field on ODIN along with your choice of firmware you are flashing.
Once you are done and reboot, mostlikely you'll be in a boot-loop stuck at SAMSUNG screen. Now reboot to download mode again, then flash the DBDATA.rfs.tar I attached on the following post in PDA field on ODIN:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=23348040&postcount=121
i dont have the icon
wakak make sure you got the proper Samsung driver installed!

Sad Story, Help me Please (DEV asking 4 help)

Okay. So I had to sell my mums SGS because we needed the money, but before i sold it, I had made a backup of the rom via CWM.
NOTE>the phone was on 2.3.5
So anyways. I bought another SGS for her the other week running 2.3.3 and i havent been able to get kies to load up on my pc so i can update it to 2.3.5. I've searched all over google and youtube. used all methods however, when i click kies, i just get a loading circle on my pc(Windows7) and then the circle stops. Kies never opens. I've reinstalled but it still won't open.
When i go into settings/aboutphone/updatephone. it says theres no update for it when it's clearly running 2.3.3
I wanna restore my mums phone with the backup however i can't update my phone to 2.3.5 to do so.
Note' I havent been able to find any versions of kies to see if they'd work
flash
try to flash stock rom via odin.............................

Samsung Galaxy Ace Original Firmware installing HELP!!!

Hi Guys,
I'm New to this Forum and new to an Android .
I have Samsung galaxy ace , I installed ICS ROM , but before that I didn't do a back-UP to my own firmware
So now i just want to get back into my original firmware , somewhere I read that I can do that Using KIES (original from samsung) , and ODIN .
So can you guys give me a way to get back to Gingerbread 2.3.X , please give me a video or tell me step - by - step how to get back into my Firmware .
Please ! :crying:
(and how to backup all my data , apps, messages, contacts)
Lol, newb
You need to download Odin Multidownloader v4.38
Then get the file "cooper v1.0.ops"
Now that you have downloaded both go to samfirmware and download a firmware for your galaxy ace ( download the latest one)
After it finishes downloadibg, extract the .md5 file and open odin.
Then put the .ops file you downloaded in the .OPS part and select " one package" and choose the .md5 file
Reboot your phone into downloading mode (power buton+ volume down+home button) and plug it to your computer wait till Odin recognises your phone and start flashing.
Make sure your phone is atleast 50% charged
After Odin says its done disconnect from computer and shutdown phone and load into recovery ( if you cant shutdown, simply remove battery) and wipe to factory settibgs and wipe cache. Reboot and you should official stock ROM.
This guide is ver simple and with not many details but there are many guides on the internet.
So please use the search bar before asking.

As you can see, it's a very easy procedure. Also, "downloading mode", as said by Tovagulet, is activated by turning the phone off, and power buton+ volume down+home button.
Good luck
