i guess all u know that kernel have small error about wifi treating (Hotspot)
and its fixed @ v.nAn JB !!!
so. why no one can fix the issue with new fix or new version ?
i really need to use the wifi treating (Hotspot)
& Thanks in Advance =) ..
Peace .:fingers-crossed:
Which rom are you using???
Officially corp via W8 using ixperia
I have a similar problem on Alfs_v08a (Alfs_v09c is too big battery drainer IMO) - hotspot works normally and my wifi connection in phone is picked every minute. Can I fix it somehow?
EDIT: no matter which rom is used (now I'm on GDX_v30)

I think I've founded solution :fingers-crossed: Have installed Connectify 3.0.7.25374, not PRO, disabling all advanced settings (fling, peers scanning, nxdomain handling, upnp) and have stable wifi since 3 hours

My xperia t tethering doesn't work, even via usb or via wifi: I have connection with the other device (pc via usb or wifi, other cell via wifi) but no internet access. Internet connection works normally on the phone...
I'm on 4.1.2 build 91.A.0.489.

In sony support forum I found other people with same issue: maybe it's something I could fix installing custom roms?

I've same problem!

If I understood, he says we have to extract kernel from an original sony JB rom with the google sdk manager, then root the phone and push the kernel to the phone. Is this correct? Should it really help? Can anyone help us with a more detailed guide?

I did this initially to update to jb and then flashed the mentioned kernel, the dogsly one, which is afaik the original jb kernel. I still have the problems mentioned in tethering and wifi hotspot etc. There is definitely some sort of problem with jb and tethering for me.

Maybe installing a custom rom could solve out problem?

I expect rolling back to ICS would sort it, however, that is a backward step I think. I'm surprised that more people aren't complaining of it.
I have the same issue, though sometimes it connects but has a terribly slow connection speed.

In fact it does, I rolled back to ICS and tethering worked again. Then I tried updating OTA, but the issue was still there.
Yesterday I went root, and installed the JB rooted and deoxeded and tried again: unlike the stock JB, the pc showed 'access to internet' but in fact it never worked, and it was confirmed connecting my i9001 with cm10 (connection established but the wifi symbol stays grey).
I maybe will return to ICS, but will not be happy about that because I love the look of sony's JB: if I didn't care for that, I would stay with my i9001 or maybe buy an SGS3 instead of the XT.
Ok, here's the solution (for me):

New update .492 solves that issue.

Ah, I guess we will have to wait for a generic 492 Europe wide rom then. I take it that wifi hotspot and tethering are fine on 492? Are you using the stock kernel with it?

Yes they work, with stock kernel: my XT it's only rooted.
Hi, since the .140 update I get no usb tethering. It's unable to give an ip to the PC. Anyone with this problem?
Yes, same thing for me on unlocked bl rooted T on stock 140 Europe. Pah!
hello,
at the moment I'm an happy jellybeer 4.32 user... the only issue I've (with others 4.2.2 roms is the same) is with tethering by wifi (by usb not working too but I never use it): it doesn't work, but with any 4.1.2 rom works perfectly.
It is no due to provider or sim or contract limitation... any help?
Some users report that they use this feature without any issue with 4.2.2 roms.
I tought this issue was solvednon last AOSP relase...
any help or idea?

Well i guess WiFi hotspot is what you want, that does work in the Supernexus ROM, which is like the basic AOSP. So it should work on Jellybeer. Try a stable version or PM @beerbong about it. Try posting in the Jellybeer thread too...

Thank you so much!!! The fix works for Carbonrom, Pacman and Probam ROMs(the jb 4.3 versions)!!
Dunno what I would've done without this fix...thanks man!
Will this fix the issue where my WiFi connectivity drops on aokp 4.3 Milestone 1? Cause the only solution I've found so far is to toggle WiFi off then on to solve the problem but that's starting to annoy me.
