[Q] Error while flashing 4.4 Kitkat by bigxie - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all!
This is my first time flashing a phone. I followed a detailed description on YouTube to unlock & root and finally flash the ROM but then
I received this error while flashing the [ROM][m7]Android 4.4 KRT16S Google Play Edition by bigxie

My Backup did not work and now i just receive a "blue screen" when starting my phone.
Any suggestions?
Thx in advance!

Update recovery to 2.6.3.3
S-off..

How can i update if i can't enter to my phone and what do you mean by S-Off?
I have the CWM-based Recovery v6.0.2.8 and that is all i can enter..
I can't enter android..
Thx!

Sideload an old 4.2.2 ROM from recovery, obtain S-OFF, gain super CID, update to latest recovery, then install the ROM.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

Thank you now it's working fine!

S-off achieved still showing the same failure
I have achieved S-Off (or i believe i did) it says s-off in the hboot menu, i even installed the radios and the rom still doesnt work, any suggestions?

[Q] OTA update to 4.2.2 keeps failing [FIXED]

Hi All,
The phone is currently running 4.1.2 stock ROM. I unlocked the bootloader and flashed CWMT so that I can install exhange mail no-security patch zip file. Now that 4.2.2 is available, I had to install a small patch first before the phone can download the full 4.2.2 update.
1. I tried installing the update with unlocked bootloader but the update fails, getting stuck at the update image with the progress bar only at 1/3. I had to hold down power button to reset the phone, then it boot back to the update but fails at the red triangle with exclamation mark.
2. So I went into fastboot mode and relocked by bootloader. Now showing "Tampered, relocked".
3. Tried updating again to 4.2.2 and still stuck at the same sequence in #1.
In between steps 3 and 4, I've tried several times to relock, unlock, fix partitions, clear cache, reset data, flash recovery.img etc.
4. Since I didn't do a nandroid backup of the original recovery, I downloaded from XDA a nandroid backup from another user with the same region and CID number. The version was 1.29.980.2 vs 1.29.980.17 on my original ROM.
5. Had to unlock bootloader again and reflashed CWMT to be able to do a nandroid restore. Showing "Tampered, unlocked"
6. Completed a nandroid restore, it was successful. I was able to boot into ROM.
7. Relocked bootloader; now showing "Tampered, Relocked, Security Warning"
8. Tried to install OTA update again and this time the phone just boots into Fastboot and nothing else happens.
I can't find a stock RUU for Aust Unbranded version yet. So my only option to get stock Sense 4.2.2 is via OTA. I would like to stay on stock Sense ROM.
Any suggestions to fix the problem I'm having is much appreciated.

You have to flash stock recovery.... OTA's will not install if you have a custom recovery
Finally fixed the problem. Turns out the stock recovery image from the nandroid backup I downloaded might have something to do with failing. I tried another stock recovery image from here and I was able to finish the upgrade but not without having to manually reboot the phone once, fortunately the install just continued from where it last stopped. Happy now

Do you have stock ROM on your phone ?
You MUST have stock recovery on your phone for updates to work.
Post fastboot getvar all please, remove imei and serial number before posting.

I was on STOCK ROM and I received OTA 'over the air', I agreed to installed and now I see a message at my homescreen. saying: Unauthorized device. This app is not compatible with your phone.
My homescreen is black i can't swipe etc. I can just normally type in my pin. I can still slide down the notification bar and go to my settings.
My phone is rooted but it is still with S-ON.
I've flashed stock bootloader and lock it.
I've tried to flash PN07IMG_M7C_DUG_JB_50_S1_HTC_Europe_2.19.401.1_Radio_1237.21.28.0627_release_326125.zip with fastboot but it failed with error:
(bootloader) read zipped android_info fail
FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))
I've tried to ignore it, just do reboot but nothing has changed.
Then I've tried to flash PN07IMG_M7C_DUG_K44_SENSE60_MR_HTC_Nordic_5.17.402.6_Radio_E1237.29.35.0108_release_381671_combined_signed.zip but it failed with error:
FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail)
Please advise what should I do?
I advise you remove your imei from that info
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Where did You found PN07IMG_M7C_DUG_K44_SENSE60_MR_HTC_Nordic_5.17.402 .6_Radio_E1237.29.35.0108_release_381671_combined_ signed.zip ??

If you are bootloader locked you should see if there is a full factory RUU image available at htcdev. This will put you back to fresh out of the box condition. What's your carrier? What is your Cid?

The first RUU will failed because it is an older version than yours and the second failed because it was the wrong version number .402 vs .401. Since, you are S-ON you can only run RUU that are the same version or higher. You also need to have a stock rom (which you have) and stock recovery before running the OTA. If you had a custom recovery installed then you need to install the stock recovery for your version. If you don't have one, you can get one from this site by downloading an OTA for your version and extracting the recovery.img from the firmware.zip file in the OTA.

[Q] Need Help. Wiped OS, can't get back now

Hey, I wanted to get back to stock rom so I tried this Odexed ROM that came with Android Revolution HD 81.0 and I did it, but I accidently, when flashing, also installed superSU and then relocked bootloader. There was an OTA update also which successfully installed but the superSU notification kept coming up so I decided to unlock bootloader, and reinstall it and make sure I dont install superSU again. But like an idiot, I hit factory reset and everything wiped. Literally, everything. (And when I reboot from recovery I get a message like "No OS installed"). I can get into bootloader, and can flash any recovery and use recovery too but cannot seem to do anything with it (Also USB mount storage doesnt work). I tried adb sideload. It gets to 100% but get this error after it attempts to install: E : Error executing updater binary in zip ' /data/media/0/sideload.zip'.
I also tried using an RUU for my CID: HTC__001 which is called RUU M7 UL K44 SENSE55 MR HTC Europe 4.19.401.9 R Radio 4A.23.3263.28 10.38r.1157.04L Release 353069 Signed 2-1 and found it at http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/ruu-file-downloads/. I do not know if this is the correct one, but it was the only one I could find for HTC__001. Now when I was installing it, it said my firmware was that of 6.09.401.5 and I could not downgrade. Unfortunately I cannot find an RUU for that firmware hence my failure. I could only find this firmware 6.09.401.5-FULL_STOCK_WIPE.zip which was about 520mb, roughly the size of the OTA that I received when I first succeeded, so not an RUU, and I could not flash this either. (Knowledge is extremely limited in this situation). After trying and trying different "Solutions" by updating recovery, degrading it but nothing seems to successfully do it. I am stumped. I need your help. Please HELP ME!
The info I have after countless hours of failure from the fastboot getvar all command is as follows :
(bootloader) version: 0.5

Your s-on so you can forget the RUU
you need to unlock bootloader flash TWRP 2.6.3.3
and sideload or push the rom to the phone with adb
wipe / format data to remove flashing errors in sidelaod
put the rom in the same folder as adb
then from TWRP / Advanced / ADB Sideload / Swipe
then on the PC fastboot folder / command prompt
adb sideload name_of_rom.zip
if you have problems with sideload
just put the phone in TWRP home screen
then from PC fastboot folder / command prompt
adb push name_of_rom.zip /sdcard/

Try to relash your rom completely. There is a stock odexed zip for 6.09.401.5 available on arhd Web site. Stock recovery for that version is also available
Tried the stock recovery and it resulted into a red triangle with a excalamtion mark. I then tried to install ARHD 82 and that resulted in it being frozen at the boot screen. Then flashed the newest firmware as it seems ARHD requires it. After the firmware ARHD still didnt work, so i got my stock rom from 6.09.401.5 working with 6.09.401.10 firmware and tried to apply the 6.09.401.10 OTA, that resulted in the red triangle again.
Right now im at the original status with a working older stock rom, but i feel that i kinda dont have anywhere to move. Seems that the firmware contained stock kernel (if im not mistaken) so i may as well try sunshine to get S-OFF, but im not sure if it helps with the RUU. When i tried RUU before i got stuck at the checking headers.
