I have password protected the phone with numbers instead of pattern. I have to press the numbers and then press go to unlock the phone. Is there a way to unlock the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 just like apple phones or windows phones by just typing the numbers. I do not want to press the go after the 4 digit number.

That's one of the annoyances I had to get used to when I switched from the iPhone. I would type my PIN and space out waiting for my home screen to pop up. You get used to it though.
If you're rooted, you can use Wanam Exposed and under Lockscreen there is an option for Enable quick PIN unlock, that will get rid of the need for hitting go after the pin.

Are you on CM6? There are new settings to control the lock out time.

Yes I am on CM6 where are these settings? I been all over but can't find them.
Edit: Found the lock out time, what I like is to avoid the time it takes once locked to ask for password.
I am looking for this as well.
CM Settings > User Interface > Screen Timout Delay
"How long to delay before enabling screen lock when screen times out"
.......
Alternatively you can use the Power Controls widget and choose the "Screen lock" to do it manually.

I think we may be talking about two different things.
I have a pin lock set up. After the screen turns off its quite a pain to type in a 7 digit number each time. I'm looking for a way to continue to keep the slide to unlock screen when the screen turns off, but to delay the actual pin/pattern lock for x amount of minutes

The slide to unlock and pin are joined at the hip. You can't have one without the other. (this was stated by android team member and it will not be changing anytime soon as it's a security issue).
If you use the settings I pointed to you can delay the lock combo altogether for X amount of time. Use the top for when the screen turns off by itself, and the bottom one for when you manually press the power button to turn the screen off.
(I know this because I use a pin code as well, and I just tested it)
I supposed you could pester someone over at CM and they'll look into decoupling it.
You can download an app from the market to disable/enter your password for you if you dont like having to enter it everytime you wake the phone. I personally use an app called Lockpicker so i dont have to type in my exchange email password everytime I wake my phone. Just a suggestion.

I like your suggestion, because our Draconian IT policies force us to use a password after wake always. I will look for the app now.
Thanks a lot.
Edit: this doesn't work with Froyo. Bummer.

I see. I tried what you suggested and it is what i was looking for. I just have a habit of turning off the screen with the power button and never configured the second setting. Thanks for pointing that out!
I really like the way iPhone has setup there lockscreen. When you press the home button you get the Side to Unlock screen after you side either it goes in or asks for a pass code. I was wondering if there is a way to do that on the sgs as well?
Like have the default Android lockscreen when you first press home, you slide it and then it asks for prin/pattern.
Reason i want this is so i can see my messages and song track on the default android lock screen and still have have it locked with a pattern. Plus its annoying to enter a pattern in the car while driving and changing songs so i can set the timeout of the pattern to like 15 minutes.

I'm wondering whether it is possible to change the lock screen for the Moto X when the number lock is enabled. I prefer using the number lock to the pattern lock, but I feel that the particular implementation on the Moto X is ugly and inconvenient design-wise.
Specifically, the dial pad that is shown to enter the numbers is too small, so that I keep hitting the wrong numbers, and having to press the enter button as well is annoying.
Hence, I was wondering whether it is somehow possible to
(a) Change the appearance of the dial pad to make it look like the pattern lock (i.e. with large circles around each number that take up the entire screen rather than just a small part as the current dial pad) and
(b) Make the phone unlock after the right code has been entered withough pressing enter (I understand that this is required as the PIN can be of different length, so this might be impossible to change).
I've tried a bunch of the available iOS7 lockscreen apps but they seem to be generally slow, require root acces, have to constantly run as a seperate app in the background and/or include ads. Is there any way to get around this by changing a few lines of codes in the system APK that displays the lock screen? (Full disclosure: I have never in my life seen a line of Android code, let alone written some, so I might be completely naive about how this works!)
Yeah, those apps are probably your only hope.
i made a pin password and finger print to lock screen now when go to setting i can not chose none in screen lock settings it say disabled by administrator .encryption policy or credential storage ?
I had the same issue lastnight.. this is what I found and works for me:
1st step : create a pattern lock and for emergency PIN code to 0000 .
2nd step : go unlocking screen by pressing the power button.
3rd stage: try to unlock 5 wrong times, the phone will ask you to wait 1 min, after that go to Backup PIN.
4 th step : enter the PIN secour 0000 , the phone will return to the lock screen option with sliding always grayed out, DO NOT CHANGE.
5 th step : go unlocking screen by pressing the power button , no more multipoint , the slide is given by default!

Did you manage to remove the Slide screen as well? I would love to be able to do that so I can use a custom lockscreen
@dabo2100 Thank you so much for the good and helpful advice! You saved me all the cursing and irritation! All the best to you, lots of luck and happiness!
I think you just needed to go to Settings > Advanced Settings > Security > Clear all credentials (Remove all certificates) > Confirm OK.
Then the option to remove the locks should be available.
Seen this plenty of times on android phones.
Many many thanks to you man!!! This works perfectly for me with my Huawei P9 lite
I am in the same place and clearing credentials did not help. The option for None is still greyed out and also in the developer menu. I wiped cache and rebooted and it didn't help. Once i set a pattern the only way to force it to None is the 5-times wrong pattern and PIN trick, but the option is still greyed out. The only workaround so far was the No Lock app from play store.. but is there no way without root to sort this out properly?

Did you maybe unlock FRP that you could boot to eRecovery and perform Factory reset
Thanks, worked perfectly. I set a password got annoyed by the complications and no easy way out. This tip got rid of it. Thanks
Does anyone know of a mod where my phone auto tries the password after I put all the digits required into the pin instead of having to press the check after you put your pin in? Saves an extra button press of the check.
This option is there in multiple Custom ROMs I've used, such as the one I'm using right now, Havoc OS 2.1.
There's a feature called "Quick Unlock" under Lockscreen Customization, which enables the phone to be unlocked as soon as the PIN is entered, without the need to confirm it. I don't think this feature is available on Stock OOS.
