[Q] How to unlock phone for 4G - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
I have a HTC One from Three in UK. They have started rolling out 4G network in London in December and I live in good coverage area.
I got a text from them that they are rolling it out and that I need a new phone or software update on existing one and to check their website.
Well HTC One is one of those phones that needs software update to have 4G.
I also know that my phone is 4G capable as there was a thread about how to check it a while back but I cannot find it now.
Any help on how to unlock it for 4G?
I do not want to relock the device to go back to stock just to do that. Especially that I am now S-off and all that.
Thx.

[Q] Can't connect my unlocked T-Mobile HD7 to Bell Canada

Hi everyone,
I just bought a T-Mobile unlocked HTC HD7 on ebay to switch from my HTC Touch on Bell Canada's network. The thing is: it can't seem to find the network and when I call Bell, they told me that they can't see the phone trying to connect to their servers.
I have a brand new SIM card, activated in their store. The phone works well, I can connect to the Wifi and browse the web.
Any info? Thanks in advance.
Hey, well sorry to tell you but the tmobile HD7 isn't compatible with the Bell network..youd need a Bell, at&t, or Telstra HD7. This thread explains it...

It sucks mate but best option would be to throw it back on eBay and then buy a Bell one
Thanks a lot, I just tough every phones were the same.
I should have read a little more before buying it!
Not a problem, hope you can get yourself a Bell one..its a great phone and a refreshing OS to use.

[Q] Using HD7 on Vodafone UK Network

Afternoon gents,
I am trading my iPhone 4 for the HD7 but i don't get very good signal with O2, so i was thinking about buying the handset unlocked and then putting a Vodafone contract SIM in it.
But, will this affect phone updates as carriers control WP7 updates?
Thank you.
You will have to wait for O2 to push updates as it will have an O2 ROM on it (O2 splash logo, locked yahoo search etc).
The only way around this is to flash a Euro branded ROM using Goldcard (exactly what I did) or one of the other methods floating around in the dev thread.
What about buying the phone from one of the East Asia compaines?
Found a site which offers the handset for £250 - checked reviews everywhere and all have recieved their items without fault.
One would assume that these devices would not have the O2 ROM?
No problem with Asia Phone
I bought my HD7 from an Asian shop on ebay. No problems whatsoever and I am also on Vodafone. I did use the disconnect trick and am now runing the nodo update with no issues. I also got my 16GB phone a LOT cheaper.
Crack on, it's well worth it!
Edit: Of course it was completely inbranded

What's the disconnect trick?
Did Zune tell you that an update was available?

You'll be fine i bought my via o2 but same reason due to poor data signal i ported over to vodafone, and it works brilliantly, update is fine, recently HTC push the NoDoUpdate via ZUNE and everything is runing smoothly.
Same here, I've been on Vodafone for years but pre-ordered a PAYG HD7 from O2 then just got it unlocked and has been great since.
Granted I did flash the latest Euro ROM using GOLDCARD so have no problems with updates or anything but all in all very much glad I sold on my iPhone 4 when I did, thankfully found someone nice to buy it and paid what I did as got a Unlocked one straight from Apple when they first came out.
If i bought a HD7 from the O2 shop, how would i go about unlocking it?
Would this also remove the O2 boot logo?
(You'll have to excuse my stupid questions, i do computers not phones )
You could either pay a unlock site to give you a unlock code or if you know a O2 Contract Customer they can fill out the unlock code request form online and request one for free. If you do it that way it may take two or three attempts as some guys email back and say no cos it's a contract phone but then somebody won't check as much and just issue the code, know loads of people done it this way, took 2 attempts to get mine.
As for the branding NO it would not get rid of it, to do that you would need to flash the phone with a different ROM like a HTC Euro ROM using such as the GOLDCARD Method. This will not make any difference to your unlock status so you know so you can't unlock it by flashing another ROM, and you can flash as often as you want and it won't relock the phone, once it's unlocked it's unlocked.

If you had to do the disconnect trick then it isnt de-branded.
The debranded HD7s got the update on the day of release.
I got my HD7 from O2, unlocked it through O2, and then left and went to 3.
I also did the debranded as said on here, which was nice and easy, and I got the nodo update on the day of release

I assure it is unbranded and the update was not available on the day of release as reported all over the web. I have since however rolled back the update and received the official update with HTC additions via Zune.

[Q] HOW-TO? moving from Canada to Europe

Hi
I'm new to this forum and got to admit I am a bit lost in the gigantic amount of relevent information on this forum.
I own a captivate locked to Rogers. Moving to Europe for 6 to 12 months soon and I guess my best option is to bring my phone as I'm stuck with a contract anyway.
What do I have to do ? I guess first step would be to unlock my phone. Does rooting and unlocking mean the same thing ?
When my phone will be ready and I move to Europe, are there specifical steps to follow ?
Hi
You need to call Rogers and get them to walk you through the unlock process. Rooting is not the same thing as network unlocking. The captivate's exclusivity lock was just lifted in the US(with AT&T) so hopefully you should be in the green for Rogers. Just call their customer care/international line if they have one and ask around, someone will help you.
I'm travelling to Europe in August so I'm trying to find more info about this as well, if I find anything else out I'll let you know
Heads up the captivate has a tri-band 3g radio so you may not get complete g3 service in Europe

I need HELP!!!

Hi,
My HTC Raider (purchased Dec 2011) never connected to LTE.
At first, I assumed it was because of LTE coverage, but in early nov 2012, LTE was restored to te area. I did not get LTE. I went to bell, they had me buy a new SIM, no change.
They took it for repair. They sent it to FutureTel, who claim there is software tampering on the phone. I clarified with HTC, and they said that means it is rooted, or bootloader unlocked. I have never done any of these things.
I really need some advice what to do. Both bell and HTC say I should just pay FutureTel the $250 they are requesting. That is totally out of the question...
Please HELP! Anybody have a similar experience?
Try this...
Open dialer
Dial *#*#4636#*#*
Go to the bottom of the screen...
Make sure the thing there says LTE

BadBoyz ROM with Straight Talk

Hey guys,
So over the last few days I have been trying to get my Sprint HTC One to work with Straight Talk. As of right now it is:
Bootloader unlocked
S-OFF
Rooted
Sim Unlocked
With Bad Boyz ROM
My straighttalk SIM is one of the ones that works with ATT compatible phones. So I looked up the frequencies for ATT and what the Sprint HTC One had and they Share the 1900/2100 Band so I assumed it should work.
I put the SIM card in, switch it to GSM mode, Roam Only, but it can't find a network.
Any reason why it would work in my iPhone finding service but not my M7?
Thanks!
Have you gone to Straight Talks website to see if your phone is compatible? They have an area to enter your info. In Portland Oregon it says it's not available for the m7 (my phone). Might be a good place to start before wasting hours trying to get something to work.
Also, there's 3....maybe 4 threads asking the same question you posted.
