[Q] Galaxy Camera APP onstartup - Galaxy Camera Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
I am developing an app to galaxy camera to be used with the purpose just to use an aplication and i want that aplication to be the only thing the users sees!
I want that app to start when i start the camera and block all buttons to destroy that app.
The app take photos and videos so i need to use that camera features.
My main issues are :
-start the app when the camera is turned on
-block the home button because i implemented new buttons.
Can you help me?
I am using android 4.1.2 and my camera is EK- GC100.
thanks

exhibition mode
I think its called exhibition mode, quite a few different implementations:
stackoverflow.com/questions/18870721/android-home-button-disable-application-exhibition
seems that we have to create a home button callback that overwrites the original ones. I am going to have to do this with my app too once we are done with current work, hope the best and please keep us posted!
Cheers!

[Q] [Tasker] Profile to turn volume control into dedicated camera button [request]

The Incredible S is undoubtedly a beautiful phone, but one of the glaring shortcomings is the lack of dedicated camera button. However, we're lucky enough to have a very customisable and extensible operating system and one of the keys to unlocking this phones potential is Taker. That said, I'm yet to find the profile that restores this missing functionality? I'm wondering if any of you have come across it?

Oh, that would be awesome! I'd like to know, too!
You need a two level shutter key for focusing on any subject while taking pictures and the volume keys arent two level. So unfortunately we cant use the volume keys as a shutter key.

Apparently this can only be achieved with rooted devices.
The app 'LittlePhoto'allows you to take photos using the volume rocker and has many options to edit your photos too, but photos are taken in 800x600 resolution.
And the 'vignette' app will allow you to take photos using the search button (hold searchbutton for focusing) at full 8mpix and has many options too.
Edit: so no rooting required ^^

I've found LittlePhoto to take good photos, at full res (no compression), but it is a little slow and clunky compared to HTC's built-in camera app.
For example, it always asks you to press a picture of a camera to start, which I find a little odd. It then takes a while to focus before taking the shot.

[Q] Tap to focus feature in n1

Hey guys, you can add the tap to focus feature in the nexus one camera app? The feature i'm talking about is like that one which have the htc devices. There's a way to do this?
Yes. Install a relatively recent version of CM7 to get the feature support. Then you simply enable it by selecting the Focus Mode "Touch".
Most custom roms should have this. But you could also use apps in the market.
I remember camera360 had that feature.

How to enable camera widget on 4.2

Simply change the DPI to 210 and voila you got the camera if you swipe to the right from the lockscreen.... you also have to deal with the phone ui then... not something I would do because of that... just making you know....
Very interesting that Google simply lock the functions that are already on the system... why? At least we should have widgets on the right then...
Other annoying thing is that if you change the DPI everything go smaller but you don't get the tablet UK.....

If you mean that you don't get the tablet ui even if you go down to 160 or so, then that might be expected as it seems google is wanting to do away with the so called "tablet UI"...evident since even nexus 10 has phablet ui.

Yep, but then why keep the phone ui in the same as the phablet? and why hide the camera? is not that it isnt installed, is just hiden....
It's possible that they are intentionally not enabling the camera on the Nexus 7 because it doesn't have a rear facing camera. Just a guess but it makes sense. The camera can be integrated into applications that make proper use of the front facing camera (skype, etc...) but it's not real practical to use a front facing camera on a tablet to snap photos of anything other than yourself and Google might not want to imply that it is.

Ok , but why don't they take it off the system instead of hiding it? Seems to me that the software is the same as the n4... gives the impression to me that they are just lazy to not create its own software for the n7...

The camera app is there, but hidden. I noticed this in Evernote when I went to create a picture note it asked if I wanted to use "Camera" or another camera app I have installed. I chose Camera and it opened the new camera app, minus the video/photosphere toggle.
They make the camera app available for programmatic use by third party apps. An app can turn it on and take a photo or video. In other words developers don't have to write their own interfaces to the camera. I am actually a developer and just checked out the API calls that do this. This is exactly what the apps we use to turn it on do.

[No Root]Stock Camera apps ported from other devices

This is one of the best phone for its price (for the price i got it tho) but one of the only cons of this phone is the plain camera app. The camera is itself good but the camera app is not upto the mark. Its simple but not great so I tried to search for stock camera apps from other phones and try it on k10. I myself did not port any of these because i haven't rooted it yet and so porting is difficult without rooting.
1) H2O camera from One Plus:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/17D6LOtOZ0ITh9noiCE6GPB36WKnUyZ1X/view?usp=sharing
Features: (which are working)
Time lapse video
Slow motion video
Exposure
Hdr, clear image and beauty (did not see much difference but still do not crash while using any of these)
Not working /Bugs:
Panorama (maybe because it requires gyroscope)
While capturing time lapse and slow mo the video display is weird but the final video is perfect.
Videos cannot not be opened from camera itself after capturing( camera fc) but can be opened by gallery.
2) Moto camera:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3...=sharing&resourcekey=0-ppfAHlR95boVDnskkZC_0A
Features:
Exposure
Fps
Panorama
Barcode / qr code scan
Not working:
Nothing such. But advanced camera settings cannot be changed as lg k10 camera doesnt support it.
3) Google camera:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3QsgYQvhCA5VGFWb2ZaNERWZms/view?usp=sharing
Features:
Hdr
Lens blur
Not working:
Panorama , Photo sphere and fish eye modes not present as not gyroscope.
4) HTC camera:https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3QsgYQvhCA5Y2VaZENFb2J0TU0/view?usp=sharing
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/htc-co.../gallery-htc-corporation-9-51-755029-release/ (gallery and photo editor)
Features:
Advanced options. (Not much due to this phones camera)
Make up (not much significant difference noticed)
Photo booth
Split Capture.
Video preview (Gallery)
Advanced photo editor (provided with gallery)
Not working:
Panorama.
Bokeh ( focal object isnt recognised so no background blur. Shoots plain photo)
Lg cameras wont work without root. No samsung cameras found.
Any other camera request? Ill try to find. And will also try to search for myself.
I downloaded from many different sources so could not provide the credits.

Sorry for coming back to you really late as I didn't receive any reply email, (maybe I missed it or I might have it turned off). Lg phones have touch assistant too, go to the accessability tab in settings or maybe pressing home button 3 times would ask to enable touch assistant. But if you want the MIUI one, unfortunately the only ik atm requires a rooted phone, so I have to look into for a non rooted one. Meanwhile you you can use apps like easytouch from play store. Hope you already have your problem solved

I don't think I might be able to find one as most touch assistants require root and so the only solution is to use one from play store, I still am looking into it. But anyways I found meizu camera working properly with live filters and will add it to this thread.

So you have a rooted phone? Well thank you but I don't like to be credited for what I haven't done. I have already mentioned somewhere in the thread that I myself didn't port these apps as I don't have my phone phone rooted, I came from Samsung which isn't a mess to root and recover as compared to what I researched on lg. I try them on my phone, troubleshoot em, seeing if there is any issue with the app. Try different things with the apps, look into em and stuff. But I didn't port any of em completely. But back to the topic, if you have rooted device, I guess there is a way to get the MIUI touch assistant
Hi is there any way to install samsung zero camera on huawei p10?
I'm looking for Samsung s8/note8 camera for huawei. But I guess doesn't exist . Thank you
