[Q] Tap to focus feature in n1 - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, you can add the tap to focus feature in the nexus one camera app? The feature i'm talking about is like that one which have the htc devices. There's a way to do this?

Yes. Install a relatively recent version of CM7 to get the feature support. Then you simply enable it by selecting the Focus Mode "Touch".

Most custom roms should have this. But you could also use apps in the market.
I remember camera360 had that feature.

[Q] Flip it to quiet

I had thought I had seen either an app or in the program an option to flip over the phone to quiet it if it is ringing. Does anyone know where this feature is located on the options menu, or do I need to get an outside app (I have found some apps to do this, but I thought I had seen it as an option in the rom???) Any help or recommendations welcome. Thanks!
What ROM are you using?
If you are using a Sense ROM, it should do that automatically. If you're running a non-Sense ROM, this app does it for free

Only SGS2. The SGS does not have everything required to support the MotionEngine.

How to enable camera widget on 4.2

Simply change the DPI to 210 and voila you got the camera if you swipe to the right from the lockscreen.... you also have to deal with the phone ui then... not something I would do because of that... just making you know....
Very interesting that Google simply lock the functions that are already on the system... why? At least we should have widgets on the right then...
Other annoying thing is that if you change the DPI everything go smaller but you don't get the tablet UK.....

If you mean that you don't get the tablet ui even if you go down to 160 or so, then that might be expected as it seems google is wanting to do away with the so called "tablet UI"...evident since even nexus 10 has phablet ui.

Yep, but then why keep the phone ui in the same as the phablet? and why hide the camera? is not that it isnt installed, is just hiden....
It's possible that they are intentionally not enabling the camera on the Nexus 7 because it doesn't have a rear facing camera. Just a guess but it makes sense. The camera can be integrated into applications that make proper use of the front facing camera (skype, etc...) but it's not real practical to use a front facing camera on a tablet to snap photos of anything other than yourself and Google might not want to imply that it is.

Ok , but why don't they take it off the system instead of hiding it? Seems to me that the software is the same as the n4... gives the impression to me that they are just lazy to not create its own software for the n7...

The camera app is there, but hidden. I noticed this in Evernote when I went to create a picture note it asked if I wanted to use "Camera" or another camera app I have installed. I chose Camera and it opened the new camera app, minus the video/photosphere toggle.
They make the camera app available for programmatic use by third party apps. An app can turn it on and take a photo or video. In other words developers don't have to write their own interfaces to the camera. I am actually a developer and just checked out the API calls that do this. This is exactly what the apps we use to turn it on do.

Camera Launcher still works on 4.2

Vanilla 'Recent Apps'.. how?

Hi guys,
I recall seeing in a thread that it was possible to revert from HTC's recent apps to the stock vanilla type by deleting a file. Not sure if i am remembering this wrong but is it possible? Not a fan of the HTC recent apps and closing each app one by one.... pretty crappy imo.
THanks!

This can be done if your phone is rooted. Atleast it works on mine (Rooted and running ARHD 12.2 with stock kernel). Look for the fields 'isHtcStyleRecentApp' and 'support_HtcStyleRecentApp' in '/system/customize/ACC/default.xml' and change their values to 'false'.

You can't kill them any other way than one by one on the stock recent apps so other than the look being vertical instead of 9 cards, you will still have to swipe them away one by one.

True. I personally like the 9 card HTC style, except that it doesnt have a kill all button. I have made a small mod which adds a kill all button to the HTC recents app screen. This is an Xposed mod so it needs the Xposed framework to be installed. I am using this and its working fine on ARHD 12.2 . I am not sure about others ROMs but it should work on all sense based ones.
Install instructions.
1. Install Xposed framework.
2. Install the apk.
3. Enable it in Xposed installer.
4. Reboot.
If it doesnt work on your device please let me know. I ll look into it.
As always, take a backup before trying this out (shouldn't be necessary but just in case).
My issue with the stock multi tasking is you cannot get into the App Info screen from it so you have to take the long way... very annoying that they removed that feature

[Q] Galaxy Camera APP onstartup

Hi guys
I am developing an app to galaxy camera to be used with the purpose just to use an aplication and i want that aplication to be the only thing the users sees!
I want that app to start when i start the camera and block all buttons to destroy that app.
The app take photos and videos so i need to use that camera features.
My main issues are :
-start the app when the camera is turned on
-block the home button because i implemented new buttons.
Can you help me?
I am using android 4.1.2 and my camera is EK- GC100.
thanks
exhibition mode
I think its called exhibition mode, quite a few different implementations:
stackoverflow.com/questions/18870721/android-home-button-disable-application-exhibition
seems that we have to create a home button callback that overwrites the original ones. I am going to have to do this with my app too once we are done with current work, hope the best and please keep us posted!
Cheers!
