Pc n xp n 2.0....plzzz help me....
Have you tried swapping or using a USB socket that is already in use?
ie: change keyboard to another port.
Sometimes drivers are "dropped" by XP so try uninstalling all drivers for hTC handset, once done try plugging phone into USB (should search for drivers & ask to install them, cancel it, reboot your system and reinstall your drivers (leave hTC sync until you require it {I've never installed sync}).
Bashing away at my HTC Desire C
I check all driver uninstall and install changing port even change pc but n data cables but problem not gone .....any other idea I think USB brick......plz
Plug in handset
Open Windows device manager
(Control Panel, System, Device Manager)
Select the yellowed ! Device
Right click and remove/uninstall
Remove handset then Reattach
If the same happens, try again but uninstall drivers after removal/uninstall from device manager.
Have you booted to bootloader and does the connection change from something like fastboot to HSUSB on connection?
If so it more likely is software than hardware problem.
Also ... Is your device S-ON or S-OFF?

[Q] Rooting without a cable?

I have the issue of my M7 wont be recognized by the PC at all. This would not be an issue if i could root it and install custom rooms.
I am running 4.4.2 on sprint. Is there a way i can root this without the cable?
The device is impossible to root without a custom recovery which needs a computer to install as it is down through the fastboot option. Try different usb ports and cables. If you have bluestacks installed make sure it's not running. Does your computer pick up usbs or other devices? Is it Windows 8?
If your device isn't recognized by your computer then it's likely a driver issue... have you installed the required drivers?
You can find the drivers on this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191279
and the all in one tool kit for rooting/installing recovery etc.. here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183942
The PC even fails to make a sound or for the device manager to show anything. It is windows 10 and i have also tried linux (without drivers)
Are you s-off? Have you tried with different usb cable? And adb/fastboot isn't even working very well on windows 8.1 and you're trying on 10. I think you should go back to win 7, try with different cables and proper drivers.
Edit: You can only install without cable with root.

I am S-Off through software, i know windows 8.1 has issues but this does not even make a sound to recognise it. I tried with a bunch of cables and a new HTC cable arrived today which i will also try out.

Usb problem

Hi, I am trying to develop lollipop for our device, but i have such a bad problem. I connect telephone to my general PC, Cable is OK, tried to connect to another PC OK too, but i can't connect only to this PC, any ideas? I know, that it isn't from the hardware or OS, because other android phones can connect normally.

Hi!
I had problems with usb 3.0 ports.
I read somewhere here about a solution to replace the microsoft usb drivers with intel's, but instead I just use another computer with usb 2.0 and it works fine.

Are you using the original USB cable? There are some usb cable that will only provide power and no data connection. So make sure you have a data cable first. Then check you have the latest HTC drivers installed on your computer, make sure you don't have HTC Sync installed, that you are using a USB 2.0 port directly at the back of your PC (no external hub). What is your TWRP version, your Windows version and your Bootloader version?
Yes I know I have tried this all,
Have tried all recovery is twrp 2.8.7.0
Nd usb is original I use the same for my Xperia z2 for flashing...
Drivers are installed with signature enforcement disables on 8.1 windows
But all was working fine suddenly I got this issue..
What could be done
What is your hboot version
Can you get fastboot connectivity when in bootloader?
Can you get adb connectivity when in custom recovery or when booted in the ROM with USB debugging turned on?
Also worth mentioning that you won't get connectivity if your phone is on the lock screen, you must unlock the screen at least once when connected to the computer.
Otherwise if its the usb port, it can easily be replaced, you only need to remove the cover you then have access to the small usb/front mic board and can replace it without further dismantling. The usb board is pretty cheap, you can find it on amazon, ebay and probably any other website of that kind.

This is wat system is sayiny aft changing the port
Change cable.
Change port.
TWRP should support OTG, but YMMV, it's very device dependent.

As I said in PM, you absolutely need a working usb connection. If you already tried everything suggested in our PM chat and what said in the previous post, I don't have any other ideas. Check your computer drivers, phone drivers. Make sure to connect your phone directly to your computer (do not se external usb hub/ports, use the ones that are soldered to your computer MB. Avoid usb 3.0 ports, use 2.0. Try with someone else computer...
