Replacing USB socket on phone

Hi guys,
So i managed to break the usb socket on my phone so I can no longer plug it into my PC. (Think the metal surround has just broken so hoping to just solder it back up)
Just wondering what size torx bit I need, and if anyone has successfully replaced the usb socket before and willing to offer any advice?

[Q] Dead Vivid USB port

Well never mind. I just put the cover back over the pins used for the wire trick and the USB is working again. Go figure.

How to make a custom charging dock for Sony Xperia Z3 Compact with case.

Has anyone done something like this? Is there a polarity in the magnetic charging port?
I also read that the magnetic charging port is "glued" and over time it pulls loose. Is this true?
I'm thinking of making a charging dock such that it will fit whatever case I get and I can just insert the phone with gravity. Or one that I can slip into a slot and keep the phone vertical while it's pressured into the contacts. Is the magnet just for attachment, or does it activate reed switch or something inside the phone to enable it to charge?
I had an Xperia ZR where used an old mouse cable and got the + and - to connect to the right place. I even made some safety thing out of paper clips that requires some pressure to actually make contact with the USB + and - to prevent shorting my computer port. Can I do the same for the Z3 compact?
Anyways, so I bought a magnetic charging cable and probed it. For anyone interested...
The polarity is as follows:
5V
+ = Top (circular plug)
- = Bottom (oval plug)

I can only charge when cable is at an angle

Hello,
Is it possible that my USB c port is already broken?? I can only charge my phone when the cable is being pushed downwards and my headphones are not working or maybe adapter
Do you guys have any tips on how to fix it or I have to take it to the service center
And yes I tried another cable
Have you actually looked into the USB c port? There is probably some dust or lint in it. Use some compressed air to try get it out. Or if you don't have compressed air try a tooth pick but be VERY careful. If there is no dust or lint it's probably broken.

Yes ,
did you try disconnecting and reseating the screen ribbon cable? Look at the port see if you bent any pins? It's possible that while replacing the usb board you damages the screen ribbon or tugged it enough that it became semi unseated under the metal bar.
