Hi.
I'm trying to install the latest slimkat, but their link for the latest CWM is dead. I'm on 4.2.1 now
I wonder where I can find it.
Thanks.
Edit: Nevermind, I figure I can just flash a new Kernel with the new CWM.
I'm not too bright sometimes.

Alright guys, long story short, I was trying to flash the ICS Slim rom and had all sorts of issues. I had clockwork 3.x before, once I tried to flash ICS Slim I now have 5.x Problem is, now no matter what i do it just reboots back to recovery. i was wondering if there is a flashable zip somewhere to install an earlier version of the cwm? Ive been searching, and cant find anything! Something flashable through cwm would be nice.
Not happening.
first of all recovery is baked into custom kernels so normally that wouldn't be a big deal...but ics is in a different file format, so in order to get back to touch wiz based kernels and firmware, you'll need to flash to stock with Odin/heimdall

ICS is a CM based rom. You need to flash more than once for it to take. Might be why you are rebooting directly to recovery. I would wipe everything and reflash. That being said if you want to get back to stock ODIN your way back. Nothing else will work except that.
Hello, and first of all, sorry for being such a noob. I did try searching the forums but found nothing to match my situation.
I rooted my i9000 a while ago and installed a custom kernel with Odin. I'm not sure what that kernel was called, but it came with CWM recovery. Anyways, I then installed the newest CyanogenMod and after that the newest version as it came out. Everything was fine until I decided I wanted KitKat. I went onwards and flashed a new custom ROM, the Mackay ROM. It seems that Mackay came with it's own TWRP-based recovery and the Mackay Kernel. I tried flashing CyanogenMod 11 Nightlies with it but it just returned me to Mackay (factory reset, ofc). I've searched and searched but haven't found a noob-friendly guide on how I could get things the way they were.
So, my question here is that how could I get that old kernel and CWM back onto my phone? I haven't enjoyed using Mackay and want my CM back. My GT-i9505 is currently in repair due to a swollen battery and my trusty GT-i9000 is my daily driver right now, so I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance and sorry if a thread like this already exists.
Recovery and kernel aren't always put together. Just find the recovery thread and read it's instructions. They can be flashed separately.

Thank you, but just to clarify, do you mean the TWRP or the CWM recovery thread?

If Mackay ROM doesn't use different formatting than FAT32 or rfs (be sure of that) you can unbrick your i9000 upon my guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2444308
It goes step by step from flashing a stock rom with re-partition (PIT file), root, installing cwm recovery and then you can go further with CM installation.
If you've done nandroid backup of your CM you will can restore it as soon as you flash the same rom, kernel and cwm version like when you've created it.
Hello
I'm trying to flash PacROM 4.4 and I'm encountering a problem with "set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed".
As I searched its because of old recovery tools, but I'm already uusing CWM 4.4.1 and I cannot find out what to do.
The way I tried to flash ROM :
1. Flash stock .254 ROM
2. Install TowelRoot and CWM
3. Flash with CWM 4.4.1 and this is where error come up (kernel 207 works)
Thank you for help
edit: I managed to install VANIR ROM, and later with the same method I managed to install PAC ROM too. I used CWR not Philz.
Your problem was most likely related to your recovery, which was probably outdated.
CM based ROMs sometimes have issues with older versions of CWM.
The reason why it worked after installing Vanir is probably because of Vanir's kernel which includes a more recent version of CWM.
Anyway, glad you got it working.
Dearest fellows of xda-developers,
I'm running into this problem now. My phone keeps constantly bootlooping. I can access both recovery aswell as the download mode. Tried a data/factory wipe and tried the cache wipe. That didn't do anything for me. Then tried to reinstall the complete firmware using Odin. Also not a solution. I've made a video of my problem without any comment though but I hope it helps you to figure out with me what's wrong with it. You'll find it as an attachment to this post. Thank you for your time and hope to get some responses soon.
With Kind regards,
John
You didn't provide enough details: which was the last installed ROM, is it still on stock firmware and if yes which one?
I see on your video that it has custom kernel and CWM recovery, do you know which kernel is that? Video is unsharp, I tought I saw for moment that it is CWM 2.5.1.2 so is it Speedmod kernel? I would try to reflash the kernel- if the issue came after flashing a kernel, then it is just a uncompatible kernel version for the ROM you were using. Or you can restore nandroid backup....don't tell you have none?
If nothing helps, you could try to flash Cyanogenmod 9 zip in recovery. It is anyway better than stock firmware.

Where can i download the latest CWM Recovery for CM12?
I just finished installing Official Cyanogenmod 12 (CM12) but i just realised i can't get into recovery coming from CM11 there must be a new version kicking around somewhere for CM12 for Xperia Z1, Iv'e tried searching on Google and XDA but i can't find a compatible CWM recovery to install to work as i know there compatibility issues...i'm on 5.02 Lollipop CM12 so i dunno what version of CMW recovery to try as it seems folk online like to say things are indeed the latest just to get views and hits by downloading there crapware
I hope someone here can help
there is no CWM but there are images to flash to get TWRP or Phil-Z (CWM with touch control)
