[Q] Flashing a custom ROM on a converted HTC One - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello friends. I recently converted my stock HTC One to a Stock HTC One GPE via S-OFF and RUU. I also have my device rooted and I have TWRP recovery. If I were to create a NANDroid backup and flash a custom ROM (thinking of flashing Bigxie or ARHD) to my converted HTC One, would there be a possibility of me bricking my phone or am I completely fine? I am only flashing a custom ROM because the stock GPE seems to be giving me mediocre battery life (google services is hogging my battery.)

As long as it is for HTC one, generally you shouldn't have an issue. Don't lock bootloader if you run into issues and keep your s-off

HTC One 4.3 update from stock with ROOT? S-ON

Hello,
I have a HTC One with android 4.2.2 and sense 5, it's stock but I have a custom kernel, recovery and have rooted it.
It's S-ON and I still wish to upgrade to the sense 5.5 4.3, or a custom rom.
I'm not sure how to install a custom ROM With S-ON, on the HTC One, is it the same as on the HTC One X? (Flash kernel, Install ROM etc)
Could i keep my settings i have on stock 4.2.2 & sense 5 when installing a custom ROM?
Or how could I upgrade to 4.3 & sense 5.5. stock without losing root/my settings *(So no RUU)*
Kind regards
Siem

As long as your bootloader is unlocked and you have a custom recovery you can flash a ROM and it will work fine, S-ON just locks out the very very low level stuff.
You can't keep your settings, no.

[Q] Sense ROMs on GPE converted device

Hi All. I have had my HTC One for a couple of months now. Had planned on using it stock for a few weeks, but ended up unlocking the device less than 24 hours after purchase haha.
I have unlocked the bootloader via HTCDev and S-Off'd it using RumRunner. Then proceeded to convert to GPE. So, it has SuperCID now (the one with all the 1s), and I am pretty sure changing the MID was part of the process as well.
I have a hankering to get back to Sense for a while (First ROM I flashed was ViperOne and quite liked it). Can I still flash Sense based ROMS? Or do I need to change the CID and/or MID to do so now?
HBOOT is 1.54; can't remember exactly what the MID is but I think it's PN071xxxx.
I have looked back through this subforum (to page 39 so far) but can't see this question being asked.
Thanks
EDIT - and by sense based ROMs, I mean custom ones eg ViperOne
Did a backup in TWRP, flashed latest ViperOne ROM - Success.

[Q] HTC M8 root help

Hello everyone,
I rooted my HTC One M8 HK edition and now Im trying to get it back to stock. I've installed Sunshine to get S-off but keep getting a popup saying "Your device has a debuggable ramdisk (ro.debuggable=1). You need to flash a non-debuggable boot.img, stock would be best." The current ROM on the phone is InsertCoin and I tried getting HTC M8 RUU file on my phone but does't work. Are there any ROMs that are recommended to run sunshine? If not how can I install the RUU on my phone?
Flash one of the stock rooted ROM's from OMJ's RUU thread:

[Q] Stock Recovery for CID: SPCS_004

Hello, I have been searching for about 2 months trying to fix my issue and I have finally decided to give in and seek some assistance from this wonderful site.
Current Setup: HTC One m8 Harman Kardon, S-On, Unlocked Bootloader, CM11, TWRP 2.7.0.2 (Sprint)
End Game: S-Off, Running GPE Lollipop.
I believe I need to return my phone to stock in order to use Sunshine to S-Off and update my firmware so that GPE Radios will work. I have installed the stock Sense 6 ROM 4.4.4 (Wireless not working) but now am trying to install an OTA software update. (Currently on 3.30.654.2) From what I understand I need to install the stock HTC Recovery, however My CID is SPCS_004 and I can not find a recovery for that. Also, what is the process that I should follow when flashing stock recovery, Do I flash recovery and then install the OTA? Will I need to lock my bootloader? I am so turned around in this process that I don't really know what Direction to go in, any help is greatly appreciated.
tl;dr: I need a stock recovery for HTC One m8 Harman Kardon (CID SPCS_004) and can't find it anywhere.
I have finally figured it out!
For others having this issue that may stumble upon similar issues. I focused on returning my phone to stock.
Flash stock HTC Sense 6 4.4.4
Flashed stock recovery 4.16.401.10
I then locked my bootloader
Ran RUU 4.20.654.10
HTC then accepted and Ran the OTA
I am now on Sense 6 running 5.0.1 with stock recovery and a locked bootloader.
I will be making a back up (saving it to my google drive to avoid this issue in the future) and flashing GPE.
This can be closed if need be.

Rom compatibility with original GPE

Ok so, I just unlocked the bootloader and rooted my HTC one M7 GPE (original, not converted). It's still S-ON but I think I can still flash roms right? I want to get the ARHD rom but I don't know if it's only for standard M7s or if it will work with my GPE M7...
Thanks in advance
