Sorry if this has already been asked, but I am having problems downloading roms... I have been able to download pheonix. Tried to get Firefly, paragon, odin 1 click, and toolbox 2.5. Even paid for a pro account with mediafire to make things easier. And everything is good till the download is almost complete then it fails. gives me an error message saying file type unsupported cant save try again or contact server admin. What do I do?
Are you doing this on your phone or pc

maybe because the connection is time out, and you have to download it again. i suppose you are downloading the rom using your desktop, not your phone.
Yes from my pc
Try out from your phone
Dl astro file manager
Enable download from browser under preferences
Give it a go
Yep. Astro File manager is the best!
What OS and browser are you running?

Thanks for the tip. Just takes so much longer to download through the phone... am itching to check out paragon...
And it is downloading now on my phone. Would still like to be able to download all this stuff to my pc, and store everything there so I dont have a ton of stuff on my sd card....
You can transfer from phone to pc
Don't give up on your pc, this is just another way.
Paragon is a beast
Its weird, i was able to get Phoenix_4.5, and Darkytt3r_7.0.2_BLN_voodooOff, but nothing else in that list of stuff. It seems to go good until right before it is done then fails...uggghhh
Cognition failed again from the pc, I really hope i am successful in getting paragon...

I tried downloading cog rom just now, no problems. If you are using firefox, you can download an add-on called downthemall! and use it as your download manager. it will resume the downloading if the connection is broken.
Thanks guys, download to phone worked. Am running it now. Would still like to figure out the whole pc download issue. am trying it through downthemall, just seems to be going slower than ever before..
Just in case someone needs this here are stock
recovery.img and stock boot.img.
Both have been tested and working fine.
I used heimdall to flash them few times but I think it should work with ODIN as well.
Haven't tested it with ODIN tho.
If you gonna use heimdall here is the galaxy4.pit file.
So if something goes south you can flash back to stock again.
I had to do that many times yesterday as I was testing recoveries made by Shabbypenguin and kernels that I was trying to build.
Wow Agat you are a human machine, are you sure you aint half android and the other half human?

I pulled them from my phone Saturday.
It's stock. And pulling them is not that hard.
I had to upgrade my heimdall to pull the pit file tho.
But those files came really handy throught the weekend.
Had to use them many, many times.
Just an FYI - We have these and a ROM dump also up on rwilco12.com.
Just don't have a stock version yet.

I used qbking77's UTube video to root and it went ok but I really would like to unroot and I have no idea how to do this. Is there a simple way to unroot? The reason I am unrooting is that I know nothing about rooting and should have waited until I researched and understood it's benefits and without knowing this I should have not rooted and want to go back to stock but I would like a simple way to do it.

You can keep the root untill you know more about it and start using all benefits.
It won't bug you and won't brake anything on your phone.
Actually if you not using any apps that require root access you won't even notice that you are rooted.
So no worries.
I haven't look into any unrooting methods and don't even know if they exist as of now so if you want to do it you should
keep looking for it.

I place the phone in flash mode, and it doesn't detect the device. I used the older Heimdall to flash my GS1 many times, but it has never worked with my gs4. In fact, I can't even get usb debugging or adb to work either. I monkeyed around with udev trying to get it working, still no luck. I have Fedora17 at the moment, and I wouldn't be surprised if that had something to do with my frustrations.

Never used Fedora. So I'm not much help here.
I know I had to update my Heimdall from 1.3.2 to 1.4 to make it work with GS4.
I don't have any problems with it ever sense.
But my adb and debugginb are working as well.
So may be some missing drivers?

For me it's not a cable but USB port.
My laptop has 4 usb ports but my phone is recognized only when connected to one of them.
Other 3 are not recognizing phone in Linux. Only on Windows.
Hi Good Day s3 mini User!
I am from SGW and currently just retired SGW to a s3 mini
I read a lot of the way to root s3 mini non of them seem working for 100%.
Some are in chinese word and some only for I8190.
Is there any senior/experience user that have rooted their s3 mini willing to share and guide me to root my s3 mini to use custom rom?
My based band - I8190NDXLL7
Please advice.
Your best bet is to aquire the Samsung USB driver + Odin and flash ClockworkMod recovery onto your phone, you can then install any standard ROM onto your S3 Mini.
I'd say this guide is pretty self explanatory: http://maclaw.pl/installation-guide-golden/
If you want to root your phone you have to accept the risk, there's no 100% failproof solution.
These procedures are tested and proven to work and is relatively hard to hard brick your phone if you pay attention, but you never know.
Basically there are 2 ways to root your phone, install a pre-rooted firmware and root via custom recovery.
The way I like better is via custom recovery, it's firmware indipendent and it allows to do a nandroid backup before installing any "su" application.

I need to go to system folder and move out those .apk file from the folder right? Sorry I am still new in Android stuff.

Do not move out or delete any apk on system folder, as far as i know, it will make your phone crash or even softbricked. CMIIW . If you want to disable Samsung Apps, just go to Settings > Application Manager > All Apps > scroll down until you find Samsung Apps. Click on it, and click Uninstall Updates, and then you can disable it. Samsung Apps icon will not appear on your app drawer.

Is their a way to Bluetooth app APk files using myappshare direct from my phone to my Gear?
Use a file explorer on your phone...i am using solid explorer...
Tap on the file on your phone...hit send or share....select bluetooth....select your gear...rest is selfexplaining
it is the way i do it...if the files are downloaded via PC i put'em in Dropbox and download it on my phone...normaly i just download it by phone or send a backup apk to my gear for installing...
I also use titanium backup to send a backup to the watch. I then use titanium backup on the watch to restore apk and data.

This would be so easy. But it dont work for me.
Because if I use share via Bluetooth it searches for a BT device but cant find while the Gear is linked and connected.
This is stupid. Cant understand.
Any explanation?
Or solution?
No root on the Gear should not belong to this... I think...
2nd strange point is that I cant thick BT visibility on the Gear... Works only for a second if I switch BT off and on... <- This was caused of my autoconnect app.
Think this could be the point: The Gear is linked as Telefon Audio. So sending of files may not possible?!

Hi Guys!
Compliments for your forums. It's a very great work that you are doing here!
I hope it's not a duplicate topic. If it's so, my excuses for that!
I've downloaded that program Kingo Root V 1.2.3.2051, to unroot my S3-mini which have the rom I8190XXANC2 Vodafone Italy
After I started the program and connected the device, I had a doubt, so after few seconds that the program was communicating, I turned off my router, so internet was unavailable.
Then I had to wait 1 minute more till the program said that my device is unsupported, anyway it asked me to press the button "ROOT" .
I did nothing, then I closed the program and disconnected the phone.
Now searching with Google, I found out that this program may harm in some ways, so now I am worried, maybe I shouldn't but hehe you know....
The phone doesn't seems to have new apps installed neither to act weird, so now I ask myself, was able this program to modify or install something in the phone?
Either this answer is positive or not, at this point I would like to do what was my intent: Reset to default, unroot just this ROM version without remove anything (unwanted Vodafone apps), only unroot it and add the Supersu APP; nothing else. Then I can decide later what to keep or what to remove.
I searched a lot in your forums before write this topic, but I found only an extreme "tweaked" version, which isn't my goal.
Another thing that I don't understand is why I see more than one files to flash in the device, seems like it's the operating system, the modem binary, and the kernel? I understood well? It's obligatory to upload all three? Which sequence order?
You mention some applications which helps to upload the roms as like Odin, twrp2.7, I may be wrong, but don't seems that you have a specific topic or an updated download section. I am afraid to search in Google and maybe find some fake versions around with includes malware.
Sorry for all that questions, but I am very new to this Android world. To start for good I need some guidance. I hope you can help me somehow.
Thank you very much.

Thank you for the instructions and the links. From the samsung-updates I can download my original ROM and then with Odin restore my S3mini as factory mode. This may help to get rid of possible "some unwanted changes" done my the tool mentioned in main topic. :good:
My next step is to gain the root access in the original ROM which is I8190XXANC2 OMN, and I dont desire to flash with too much tweaked versions, if possible. The ROM must stay as most close possible like the original, but with the root access.
Any help is very appreciated .
