Hi Good Day s3 mini User!
I am from SGW and currently just retired SGW to a s3 mini
I read a lot of the way to root s3 mini non of them seem working for 100%.
Some are in chinese word and some only for I8190.
Is there any senior/experience user that have rooted their s3 mini willing to share and guide me to root my s3 mini to use custom rom?
My based band - I8190NDXLL7
Please advice.
Your best bet is to aquire the Samsung USB driver + Odin and flash ClockworkMod recovery onto your phone, you can then install any standard ROM onto your S3 Mini.
I'd say this guide is pretty self explanatory: http://maclaw.pl/installation-guide-golden/
If you want to root your phone you have to accept the risk, there's no 100% failproof solution.
These procedures are tested and proven to work and is relatively hard to hard brick your phone if you pay attention, but you never know.
Basically there are 2 ways to root your phone, install a pre-rooted firmware and root via custom recovery.
The way I like better is via custom recovery, it's firmware indipendent and it allows to do a nandroid backup before installing any "su" application.

Do not move out or delete any apk on system folder, as far as i know, it will make your phone crash or even softbricked. CMIIW . If you want to disable Samsung Apps, just go to Settings > Application Manager > All Apps > scroll down until you find Samsung Apps. Click on it, and click Uninstall Updates, and then you can disable it. Samsung Apps icon will not appear on your app drawer.

There is plenty of info and guides for you on site, Stop been lazy and impatient, Go and do some research and search forums instead of expecting somebody to bring the info to you.
You will learn more and retain the info if you put some work into it and read.
go download unlockroot - http://www.unlockroot.com/
make sure you set your device to Enable USB Debugging.
Press Root from the program and wait for the magic to happen.
worked
Thanks very much quite easy.

What is wrong with you!!! Are you frustrated or do you have a huge complex and didn’t mammy give you enough attention??? You can’t wait to put people down are you, he is asking a question and did it very polite he tried it with several solutions and it did not work so he tried, it is absolutely not necessary to say that he is lazy and impatient, your here a long time and all i read from you is bashing people, why don’t you just shut up if you are not helping people and leave it to people that have no problem answering such a question, nobody is waiting for your stupid remarks. You ATHEiST are an idiot and do not belong in a forum!
You can also go for the CFROOT. OR use the overcome method by teamovercome. You just need to put your tab in download mode, and get the necessary files from TEAMOVERCOME. Although, when you do this, you will get a customer ROM installed, the overcome 7 v4.1.0 running on android 2.3.6 fully rooted.
2.3.6 root info
tried many methods, here're my results, hope this helps...
going from gb 2.3.3 rooted with cf root ...to 2.3.6 with cf root.
(all firmware from "check fus 2.1")
uk(02)...JQ8 -not easy!
eventual success, method mentioned in last page of linkost #342
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=885734&highlight=tab+cwm3
Poland play... JQ9 -easy!!
used pc version 'odin3 v1.7' to flash firmware, then again to flash 'cf root kernel' (same one as in the above 'xda' link).
result -all good
tried using mobile odin pro first but had probs.
if all else fails, you could try, team overcome's custom rom, i tried that too but didn't like their version of cwm, so was determined to get chainfire's original working.

I recommend you to read xposed framework thread carefully. After rooting the phone with that chinese thing, you can install/replace it for a real superuser app from playstore & remove the chinese one. Good luck
P.S: BTW, you posted in the wrong place.

If you mean xposed installer then don't worry, you will not stuck on boot it works very well on s3 mini without any problems
Just make a nandroid backup and test it then. I haven't encountered serious problems with the framework. Xposed also creates a xposed-disabler.zip that you can flash from recovery if you get a boot loop, if that doesn't work, just restore the nandroid backup
Guys thnx for the answers so i installed cwm and flashed the custom recovery and i want to do a nandroid backup but could someone tell me an estimate of how much space does it require? I have about 6gb empty in the external sd card used about 4gb from internal so is it enough?

I've never actually used Kies for anything (LOL,right), but I can tell you that if you don't suddenly remove the USB from the phone or your battery dies out, nothing can go wrong. Besides, even if you brick your device, you'll just have to download a stock firmware from sammobile and flash it with Odin, so no worries here either I've ruined my phone a thousand times xD

There's only a few threads about gt-i8200. Reason for that is probably that it's quite new compared to i8190 and no developement is done..yet.
No don't do it cause after rooting installing ota or kies update bricks phone because the installation stops at middle due to root I myselftested it sevral times
Hello,
I was interested in this myself. Reading around suggested that Kies would soft brick your phone, and recovering it could be very difficult. I looked on YouTube (sorry, too new to post links!) and someone has uploaded a video that recommends using an app called SpoofFW to fool Kies into thinking your phone is completely stock.
However, as has been stated already, after upgrading, you will lose root, and all that Samsung bloat will be back again!
Maris
Best way to update without any problems is to download the newest firmware for your device from sammobile and flash it through Odin. After that you can root again and remove all the bloatware that comes with the ROM. ODIN>KIES

Could you plz list what you use to custom recovery/ backup , and explain where efs is , its the entire file system? Does kies do that? Philz seems popular. What did you use to root too please
For me Philz is the best. Efs is on the root ( \ ) of your telephone, you can find it after root. Simply use Es File Manager whit root permission. For root I use autoroot chainfire with ODIN

Hello friends,
is there a way to put the "Back-Button" on the right and the "Multi-Tasking" Button on the left side?
I am used to this because of my older Samsung Galaxy S3.
Thank you very much for your replies!

If yes, then you can find this in custom roms or probably there will be an exposed module for it.
Yes, I think that's it. My phone is rooted but i do not want any custom rom to be honest. If I could flash this specific thing that would be great

I don't think you can completely brick your phone just by trying to install Xposed. The most damage you could do to your device would be a soft brick or bootloop, which is easily fixed by doing a NANDroid backup prior to installation and restoring it if something goes wrong.
What he said. I think there was a greater risk in rooting than there is in Xposed.

I can't post links yet :/
But to get to the tutorial I used the thread: [OFFICIAL] Xposed for Lollipop
Keep in mind this is for lollipop, just put the above into the search bar and it should be the first result.
The install process is very easy, all you need is the .zip file and the .apk file.
1. Download both files onto your device,
2. Boot into your custom recovery (e.g. TWRP)
3. (OPTIONAL, but recommended) Carry out a backup of your device
4. Install the .zip file
5. Wipe dalvik/cache
5. Boot device
6. Install .apk file
7. Reboot device
You've installed Xposed!
Now just open the app Xposed Installer, go to downloads and search for 'GravityBox', download and install that, reboot your device, and you're all set. In GravityBox there's an option under 'Navigation bar tweaks' called 'Swap Back and Recents keys'.
