Try brushing your speakers with your toothbrush. I'm not kidding it really worked for me.

I had an echo and a muffled voice issue... I fixed it by putting my thumb over the noise cancellation mic till a new version of miui came out and it was fixed...

Hey there!
I am really happy with my htc one! Especially the speakers are great!
There is one thing that bugs me though: when I call somebody and I decide to talk on speakers- I experience really bad sound from the usually great boomsound speakers... There is even no beats logo in the notification bar.
It sounds like my old Gnex while in call on speaker.
Anybody else experience this? Will this be fixed soon?
Greetings

Are you on a custom rom? That might also explain why. And on custom roms with the 1.29 build, HTC neutered the max volume a bit.

Here we go again! If people are happy with their phones and try to defend it against trolls they're fanboys??
So they suck?? Name one phone with better speakers for speakerphone calls released within the last 3 months? You can't because there aren't any.
And who are "they" exactly and where are these quotes?? I haven't read one single claim from HTC saying their speakers don't suck, or that they are so loud, even the haters will love them.
The speakers have excellent sound and are very very loud.
Why is the sound volume so much lower compared to stock? Is it the X-Audio tweak? I don't want to have to reinstall the rom all over again just to turn that tweak off. Can you turn off the tweak somewhere? Is your audio a lot quieter? Please help! Thanks. I'm running the latest version of the rom, 9.3 and it is not the kernels fault as it was quite before installing Elemental X.

I just removed Pure X-Audio and it is still really quiet even at max volume. Please help.
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
It's because HTC lowered the volume on the phone in the latest update to protect the speakers. ARHD is based on the latest version.
Why does everyone need the volume up so high?
Sent from my HTC One
They made it quieter than it was it the 1.27 builds but there are ROMs that have supposedly brought the loud audio back.
Maybe they made it quiter because people were complaining it was too loud when at minimum volume in the original firmwares?
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
I like to listen to music out loud and watch movies. Is there anyway to change it back?

Use a ROM that is based on 1.27 or one that explicitly states that it has brought back loud audio.

I would rather not change ROM's. So there is no way to get something or change something to bring it back?

I thought before that when I used the speakerphone on my One that it would come from both the bottom and top speakers, but right now it's only coming from the bottom one. Am I crazy, or was it not coming from both before?
Yea man both of mine work when on speakerphone but I am running the 4.2 beta so idk if it's different .....does music play from both?
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 4
Bone stock and both of mine are playing while on a call and speaker phone enabled.
Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk 4
I'm bone stock 4.1.2 and it's just not working. I restarted my phone and everything. Music is working from both, just not speakerphone.
Have u tried with beats off?
(rhetorical question, but...)

I have two HTC one phone but different models.
1st phone is HTC one "801N" M7_ul.
2nd phone is HTC one "AP801C" M7_Spr.
Why I Created this thread- 801n has low sound output as compared to AP801C, speakers of my 801n are defective?
Question- If the speakers are deffective? It is a hardware problem or software problem. Is there any way to increase sound???
i think this is a hardware problem (with amplifier). You can try factory reset and test it but I don't think it'll help

what is the firmware version on both of your phones?
HTC nerfed the sound via an update because of too many blown speakers. So if one of your phone is running on an old version, it will probably be louder than the other.
